Why pool table rails are made wrong?

All tables are built to a spec not designed by a pool players or tested by 2,000 pool players. Its all about time, money and looks all sizzle no steak sells faster.
 
looks like the chinese have figured it out partially, no one ever really learns if they learn just by reading or having someone tell them, you must think!!!!
 
Why is anything made wrong?

Lack of specifications
poor workmanship
no quality control
lack of discipline
poor leadership
quick and cheap
no respect for customer
no respect for ones own work

etc.etc..
 
My opinion, because there are so many different subrail angles, cushion profiles, pocket angles, etc. But hey, I've had a lot of work lately where other guys have put the wrong profile rubber on a table, and I get to replace it so it's not all bad! ;)

John, you first posted this thread more than 7 months ago, with out hardly any responses, now you bring it up again....and the only reason you do that is to stir up more shit with your questions...but no answers from you, why do you do that? Do you do questions like this to maybe make everyone think you're smarter than everyone else....I don't know! But to simply start a thread with a question...and not give your version of the answer leaves no room for debate! I see rails being made different all the time, but does that make them right...or wrong? I guess that would all depend on who's saying they're made wrong....wouldn't you agree? There's all kinds of room for different designs for rails, but would they be wrong too? Who defines right or wrong, you?

Today a fellow mech called me and spoke for a while. He thought one of my ideas was worth trying. Why? because it made sense, or should I say since, or should I say cents, you pick. Off the cuff with a busy schedule I reroute myself to try to see if I can help him.

You installed my tables and I ask you a question(long before any of my latest thread entrys), get no answer and then this reply.

Yes we are different thats for sure
 
I do appreciate the time you took from your day John. I'm looking forward to trying the rail wafers. Servicing the niche market with a viable solution, equals customer retention!

I called you several times after you sent me a message to answer your question about one of your Diamond tables, but...if you choose not to return a call, not my problem, besides that...you have my phone number, and yet still fail to call, so I guess the problem....must not really be a problem....or you would have called me;)

Yeah I'll check my ph records. I did fix it as I said but wanted to know what or why etc.

This is a great thread topic. As a traveling mech do you go back and correct problems or have someone else fix them. Or do you say its the manufacturer problem. Or do you just say you do things a certain way. Maybe you should show whoever glued down my cloth(which I thought was suppose to be new) your glue method. OK, Now I'm cranked.

I have guys pissing and moaning to me about balls hanging in front of pockets. SO, I know, I should fix it. Seems to me that a method so good, so great, etc can be screwed up by the same people who say it doesn't present problems. OR, did I just get the last 2 on the shelf.

Don't get me wrong, the tables with their supertight pockets are nice. BUT even Mercedes have problems with their cars. You would think my tables would have been checked over before being sent.

NOthing worse is when a ball hangs up in front of the pocket and someone looses because of it.

so I have to fix that also right. Would have thought I would have had zero problems. These were tournamen tables. Are you suppose to get new cloth with these tables? you know I didn't.

I will NOT be showing the glue method in my DVD series which are coming out.
