There comes a time when a man (or woman) must step back and take a long hard look at themselves and stop lying to themselves. I have done that, and realize I will never be a top player, or even a well known good player, and I am perfectly happy with that. Now the story, lol. I went to a bar to shoot pool with a good friend tonight. I was playing 8 ball with bar rules against a very drunk girl, so I was less than focused. I dont care about beating a drunk that cant hardly stand, and at that point I was ready to break my cue down and call it a night at the table. Well she stumbled out the door and never came back, so I kept on playing. I was just banging around with the casual players, and I kept on winning. It was cool. I was playing good, but thats not why I won, they just sucked, lol. So I held the table for about 3 hours, and it was funny how the same people kept coming back trying to beat me, even though they couldnt run 3 balls in a row, lol. So even though Im not a top player, I was the top player at that bar tonight, lol. I know its meaningless, and I really didnt get much joy out of beating them, knowing that they were half drunk and terrible pool players, but a small part of me felt good about it in a goofy sort of way. Just thought Id share my night with you all.
