It may not look like it, but the butts are set into the case, and the shafts are set up a little bit, so when I close it, they are LOCKED in place. Rock solid. The pockets come in very handy as well, as I can fit just about anything I could need in there.

Let me know what you think.

*edit* I have done some trimming to the pockets to make it look a lot cleaner. Not nearly as bushy.

Very cool! Now can you make one that looks like a tommy gun case? ;) That would be cool.

Very cool case Rory. "Does Charlie Danial's play a mean fiddle?". "Does Rory Hunt play a mean game of pool?". LOL. Very well done. Johnnyt

I took to the games last night. Everybody thought it was pretty cool. A couple asked if I could make them one. We shall see.

Better be able to play a little bit if you walk into a place and pull that out as your cue case though! All in all it made for a good conversation starter with pool people.

Thats very cool Rory. Its something I might try myself. If you don't mind helping out, what type of material did you use under the crazy fur to hold the cues and shafts.

Clever. Now, I wonder if you can fool the airlines and get that on as carry on... I double-dog dare you...

Just out of curiosity; How big is that case? It's defineately bigger than a violin case. Viola? Small Cello?

cool case, nice idea! But be sure to expect questions if you ever decide to get a plane flight with it ;) Upon arrival you would be carried to the officer's department to give explanations :D

Sorry for the late response. I found it was pretty easy to use those blue camping pads from WalMart. They are each a 1/2 inch think, and I built it up in layers. Really easy to work with, cuts really clean, and cost about 2 bucks mat. For the glue, I just used a hot glue gun, with a lot of glue.

Violin Cue Case

Hi:
Did you make the case from scratch, if so what materials did you use? I am a pool player, served an apprenticeship as a violin maker and now violin player..I'd like to make a case and could use the advice.
Great job.
Best,
Carl Hungness
