What is Borana Andoni's speed?

My team of misfits wants to play Kiss of death. Ask around about our playing abilities, youll find out that the men on our team are garbage.

I can't believe I got thrown to the curb for a couple of beautiful women!

On 2nd thought I guess I can! :D

This place can be amazing

Live and let live with a smile on your face.
Don't judge until you walked a mile in my shoes

Now,,,,,,,

That's some funny shit. That's like saying you looked at the picture below and there's no way that guy could play because his fundamentals are too f'ed up.

Pictures can't show anything. Seeing a video or seeing the person play in person are the only ways you could really tell how they play.

Oh, and no matter how good the stroke and stance and everything are, the mental aspect of the game can never been "seen".

Again, I'm not saying Borana, or anyone on KOD, can't play. I'm just saying that you can't judge anything based on a picture.

That's a great example of fundamentals. You don't really buy that story, that his stroke developed like that because of the age he started playing do you?

While you're right about the pictures, I still think she must play pretty good pool. To win any National title, even an Open title, is no easy task. Their whole team has to play pretty good pool. Regardless, if they get the press because of ability, or looks, it's good for pool. And if they have any dreams of playing the WPBA, more power to them. The press coverage will add to their confidence, and their drive to perform. Best of luck to them all.

Oh yea

As for Keith's fundamentals,,,,,, His only really bad one, is the sidearm part. I've seen him play a lot in person, and on video's. That's just my opinion tho.....

to many people on az think about stuff that does not matter to play good pool.
there is no lil secret to get good over night you have to put your time in .

I agree. It doesn't matter what your stroke or stance or anything looks like, as long as it works. One of my best friends is the kind of person that worries about every little thing when he's playing. He worries about it so much that he'll shark himself when he's playing because of it. The funny thing is, before he started doing this, he won 2 state titles! lol.

clarification

There are a couple things I need to address in your post. First, you say all the KOD girls show class and are graceful when they play. I'm from Wisconsin and I've been to a few tournaments that Alison has been at. I also know the vast majority of player in Wisconsin and many of them have been to tournaments she's been at, and even played in on a team with her, and I'm curious if when she's been seen storming off crying and throwing chalk after she loses counts towards the class and gracefulness?

Hi Patrick, yes you are correct, in the past there have been times that I have not conducted myself well at the table. But actually, just to clarify things, that chalk-throwing incident that you referred to happened around three years ago (two years before I joined Kiss of Death). And, I am happy to say that my behavior at the table has improved considerably since then, imo. I'm sure that people who have seen me play in the past few years would attest to that as well. I will be the first to admit that I can be an emotional player at times, that is part of my nature. I am passionate about this game, and I am passionate about succeeding in it. I have been working very hard to represent the sport, as well as my team, to the best of my ability. And like most people, I would hope to be judged on my current actions, not my past.

My best,

Alison Fischer

I got nothing to add, but I wanted to make sure I was part of the continued advertisement and well-deserved promotion of Borana Andoni as well as the rest of the Kiss of Death 2008 BCAPL National Champions.

If the women weren't so damned attractive, nobody would question their successful promotion. The fact is, all of them play above average. They all deserve their National Championship. They all play hard and with all their hearts. They all put 100% into the game and I daresay they all put more into the industry as a whole than most of us. Not all of us, but most of us.

There are better female players for sure, but if they don't or can't promote themselves, that isn't the KoD Ladies' fault. Why should I give a rat's ass about a great female player who doesn't promote hereself? I"m supposed to go find her?

My biggest gripe: none of the KoD team is a redhead (Alison {& Emily}, correct me please if I'm wrong!!!). And has anyone realized how hot Gail Glazebrook is? Tony, you lucky ba$tard (and I mean that in the nicest way, my friend).

Fred <~~~ got nothing to add, again

Hey Alison,

If you read a post I made after that I stated myself that it's possible you have changed since the last time I had seen you play. All I can do is speak based on what I've either seen for myself or heard from people who's opinions I respect.

Take care,
Patrick

I for one hope people judge me on my past. My current game is somewhere between abysmal and atrocious.

Plus, I can't even throw a piece of chalk across a room anymore...

dang now I have to drag out a dictionary . . .

What are the options between abysmal and atrocious? Can't be "awful", that is just the other side of atrocious, pretty close to awesome! "Adequate" is a possibility and so is average. I doubt average works but I like adequate since it covers a huge range as long as you don't specify adequate for what!

I understand this. But, I also wanted to speak for myself on this topic, being that for many people, what you said may be all they know of me.

There is one big thing that I think many people are missing about these girls. They are not just pretty and happen to have won a team championship. They are all very educated and smart business women, that is really what sets them apart. All of them have professional jobs and are very articulate women.

NYGrind promotes their team because NYCGrind covers everything in pool around NYC and these girls happen to be a big part of the NYC pool scene. Gail helps run the Predator Tour, all the girls play on the WPBA regional tours out there and one earned her Q card for the WPBA this year. You will notice that a lot of what you see on NYCGrind that is about KOD is SPONSOR stuff, not just articles about them. Advertisements or episodes that sponsors created and NYCGrind is displaying.

I can't speak to all of the promotions and deals these girls are getting but I can speak about the Poison KOD episodes. All of the girls are heavily involved with the Predator/Poison brands either through the Predator Tour and/or at big events like SBE and BCA Vegas. They volunteer to help at the booths and play challenge matches, etc. which draws business to their booth. Poison decided to do this video project with the girls, they sought out KOD for this, not the other way around.

None of these girls are out there claiming to be better than anyone else or barking at people so it really irritates me when people start talking about how they don't deserve this because they don't play better than this person or that person. They are all incredible women that ALL pool players should be happy to have involved in the pool industry and should be proud to have them represent our sport in mainstream media.

Kudos to Borana for stepping up and playing. Borana is pretty feisty too so don't take her for granted in this one.

Mel is also a sharp educated cookie. I believe she graduated from UCLA.
