Alison Fisher gets demoed by an 18 year old....

I said first round. You guys aren't listening lol. 2nd round losers doesn't count because their both losers, lol. Doesn't matter anyways, because Corey got beat by a girl anyways. Well atleast I know one thing for sure, no woman will win the tournament. You can't argue that, MUAHAHAHAHA!

I sat right in front of Corry's table and watched the entire match with him and Ga. Well to be honest I was watching Ga. ;) Congrats to her she won the set. 9-7 I think. Corry's break sucked bad, he scratched 2 or 3 times on the break, he never once had a break and run that I remember, he missed two 5balls & one 8ball straight in the pocket. For him it was embarrassing the way he played. But make no mistake about it for the cash playing 9ball say 12 ahead for 5K he could give her the 7ball and it would be a total heist. IMO of course.

I used to think this way for real, until I was on team Fury with Kelly Fisher. This girl proves that women can play very well. If you ever get a chance to play her for any amount of time you will see that. She is very capable player...I dont think anyone could give her the break, and win.

There is no doubt in my mind that if she is at her best, and gets a little lucky that she could win any pocket billiard tourney men, or womens.

I am not going to try to predict when it will happen, but it will in the next few years. A female will win a pro coed tourney. I think it will be Kelly, or Jasmine. There are many others that I think could soon, but these two are ready to win just need to play more events.

One year in SD, she ran 12 out of 14 racks or something very close to that. John probably knows.

You do understand that these world class players like Allison, Efren, etc... do lose matches to people that are under them, right? It happens. I've never understood why people get so impressed with one single match. Put this Pin up against Allison for 100 matches and see what the final outcome is. One match means nothing.
MULLY

I would empty my entire bank account and bet that Pin wins at least 60% of the matches. This kid is not some low tier pro....he plays as good as Wu Chia Ching.

me too but i rate him under WU-this kid won 2 Junior World Championships. WU won 2 all age World Championships in 2 differnt disciplines in one year as a junior. Pretty amazing!

These kind of threads always wind up with, "yeah but she can't win long match ups", when we're talking about tournament play. The fact is that the top women are very close to hanging with the men in tournaments right now. It's all ready happening where some of the top women are beating the top men. As they play more open tournaments they will get there. Johnnyt

Alternate breaks were not considered in my appraisal.
Ko can run racks.And at a world-class level ,the 7 isn't much
of a spot...comparable to the last 2 at short -stop level.
And tight pockets won't bother Ko,he was raised on them.
But that's just my supposition....i actually admire Allison for
what she has done for the game and wouldn't care to see her get
beat....but i would bet on Ko if it went down.

The difference between Ko and Allison is the level of competition they face. Ko has to play stone cold killers ALL THE TIME to maintain his position in Taiwan and get the invites and travel support for international events. Allison doesn't face near the level of top talent on a week to week basis that Ko does.

It's the same as the Filipinos. They are CONSTANTLY matching up to establish and maintain the pecking order.

How many times have you heard the pros in America lament the fact that distance keeps them from having the same sort of constant sparring to keep them sharp? Take the top ten American players and put them all within 20 miles of each other and watch the level come up as they match up constantly to stay sharp.

If I had the money then I would take Kelly Fisher completely out of the WPBA and send her to Taiwan for one year and to the Philippines the next year just to train. THEN I would send her on a cross country tour of America and BUST every gambler whose ego is stuck in the 50s. Because I firmly believe that Kelly Fisher is as talented a cueist as any person living.

What is true though is that Kelly cannot get the seasoning that men have access to without some major financial hardship or some heavy weight sponsorship to go get it.

Anyway I am talking fantasy camp type crap but I believe in it. I trained with Kelly for a while and honestly there isn't a shot or a situation that she cannot master in minutes. She would go to Taiwan and the PI and get her butt waxed at first but then she would learn and absorb and master and by the time she left she would be one of the strongest players on earth and a real force to reckoned with. That's just how I feel about Kelly Fisher and her particular aptitude. I am not speaking for women in general here.

However IF women in general were treated like guys from the get go then they would be a lot better. But they aren't yet and so we have this transitory phase. I predict in twenty more year we won't even speak of women vs. men in pool.

Hopefully I am still here for someone to dig up this post and prove me right. :-)

I see how to get along in this forum, cheer when the women win, dont say anything when the women lose, and if anyone questions the women ability just tell them that they have not accomplished anything and to play to play said women for whatever they want............why is there such an overwhelming biasis towards women beating men?

i believe you think i want to bet on allison
i was meaning it would be hard to find a bet from someone in favor of her not Ko

I believe what you are seeing here at AZ is many folks who believe in equal chances for all pool players. And the potential for anyone to be great doesn't necessarily reside with one gender over the other.

Perhaps it's many of us like to root for the underdog. Perhaps it's many of us have seen women treated unfairly in so many things that when there is an opportunity for them to compete straight-up, we don't like to that opportunity taken from them. The closed-minded among us who proclaim at the top of their lungs that "women can never compete with men" blah blah blah.... it is very tiresome, and does nothing to promote our sport, much less our society.

I don't feel a bias towards "women beating men" as you state. But I sure am rooting for them to make an impression on the pool world. If a particular lady loses, you won't hear me making excuses for them. Just like you won't hear me allowing for excuses from the men they (eventually) beat.

The more people we have playing pool, at ALL LEVELS, is all the better for pool for everyone. More people means more equipment purchases means more successful equipment manufacturers means more choices and better prices. More people means more support for poolrooms everywhere. More people means eventually more sponsorship opportunities for the higher levels of our sport, and for every level of our sport.

Having the ladies playing at a high level is a win for our sport, all around. And to be honest, often they are much more enjoyable to be around, too. ;)

Fact of the matter is like Wu, Pin Yi Ko is going to win his share of titles. It's a matter of time. If Wu and Ko ever decide to hit the gambling circuit, theyre gonna bust a lot of people. I'd love to see Wu and SVB match up to be honest. Those Asian players with the support of their government are changing the way pool is played throught the World. Now is the time for everyone to try to match their regiment or it will be too late in a few years and they are going to replace the Phillipines as the top players. Their tour events are tougher than the major tournaments here, and that's a fact.

It's not a bias where we WANT women to beat men. We just want them to have an equal shot at playing with the best in the world. With the exception of rooting for my friends when they play I don't just root for "the woman" when she plays a guy. I root for seeing a good match and there being no excuses either way if the woman wins or loses.

Some of us just want all OPEN tournaments to allow women to play. We know that as a group the women are much weaker than the men. But when they are not allowed to play then they will always remain weaker.

It is a bit ridiculous to get on here and make a post about a woman getting badly beaten in a tournament match. What's the point?

If one of us went to the US Open and some body put up a post making fun of us getting creamed then that wouldn't be too cool would it?

It's really simple, women are treated like second class citizens in the pool room. You know yourself that people still say things like "she plays pretty good for a girl".

So until people can just say "she plays good" in the same way that they say "he plays good" there will be those of us who cheer when women make strides in their game enough to truly be competitive with the best players in the world who happen to be men. When the top 100 in the world is well peppered with players of both sexes then we won't need to have this discussion any more.

And yeah, if you want to diss Allison Fisher's game then step up and play her some. I know Kelly Fisher gambles and her backer is easy to get a hold of.

Kelly doesn't book a whole lot of losers.

First off there is a bias with some of the posters on az. I dont really have a problem with it, it just gets old sometimes that every time a well known player loses to a women its post-worthy..... The top 10 or 20 women are really good, I have always said that. I can attest, see I play in tournaments , big tournaments against men and women, I have lost to Yu Ram Cha the last 2 or 3 times we have played. I got drilled by Karen Corr 9-1 at turning stone and it was like sick she made the corner ball every time and ran out.... and I have also drilled my fair share as well.

So what , its a tourney anyone that can run out can win.....thats real talk.

Lets start treating women the same as men, you say you want fairness and for them to be able to enter every event that a man can...... ok what event can I enter that they cannot???????? none they can enter all events men can

Why dont women enter the seminole events? i can think of only helena , monica, yu ram and vivian playin in one or 2 of these in the last 4 or 5 years.... But when they offered a bonus of 2500 to the highest finishing woman a whole bunch entered.......lets be fair not unfair

Im not putting anyone down but dont bark about making a game with kelly fisher or anyone else unless you are personally involved. Cuz I will play ANYONE if the game is right

It wouldn't be hard at all.
Cliff Joyner gave her the 7 and got there when Allison was in her prime.
Cliff played better then also but not Ko's speed...at least not at 9-ball.
You'll get more action than you want....a lot more

He's saying that Allison getting the 7 is not enough weight. No one would take the bet.

Back to the post about a female not winning her first round match...Karen Corr won her first round match convincingly with a 9-2 score.

It would be hard to get a bet on Allison getting the 7 in a race to 20 or more against Ko
It might even take giving odds on the money

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I guess i would have said -it would be hard to bet....
