Alternate breaks were not considered in my appraisal.
Ko can run racks.And at a world-class level ,the 7 isn't much
of a spot...comparable to the last 2 at short -stop level.
And tight pockets won't bother Ko,he was raised on them.
But that's just my supposition....i actually admire Allison for
what she has done for the game and wouldn't care to see her get
beat....but i would bet on Ko if it went down.
The difference between Ko and Allison is the level of competition they face. Ko has to play stone cold killers ALL THE TIME to maintain his position in Taiwan and get the invites and travel support for international events. Allison doesn't face near the level of top talent on a week to week basis that Ko does.
It's the same as the Filipinos. They are CONSTANTLY matching up to establish and maintain the pecking order.
How many times have you heard the pros in America lament the fact that distance keeps them from having the same sort of constant sparring to keep them sharp? Take the top ten American players and put them all within 20 miles of each other and watch the level come up as they match up constantly to stay sharp.
If I had the money then I would take Kelly Fisher completely out of the WPBA and send her to Taiwan for one year and to the Philippines the next year just to train. THEN I would send her on a cross country tour of America and BUST every gambler whose ego is stuck in the 50s. Because I firmly believe that Kelly Fisher is as talented a cueist as any person living.
What is true though is that Kelly cannot get the seasoning that men have access to without some major financial hardship or some heavy weight sponsorship to go get it.
Anyway I am talking fantasy camp type crap but I believe in it. I trained with Kelly for a while and honestly there isn't a shot or a situation that she cannot master in minutes. She would go to Taiwan and the PI and get her butt waxed at first but then she would learn and absorb and master and by the time she left she would be one of the strongest players on earth and a real force to reckoned with. That's just how I feel about Kelly Fisher and her particular aptitude. I am not speaking for women in general here.
However IF women in general were treated like guys from the get go then they would be a lot better. But they aren't yet and so we have this transitory phase. I predict in twenty more year we won't even speak of women vs. men in pool.
Hopefully I am still here for someone to dig up this post and prove me right.
