Forget the Magic Rack and get yourself one of these!!!!

I agree that the title of this thread probably could have been a little more thought out. You're kind of going after a competing product with that.

Well my apologies then. I didnt mean for the title of this thread to cheapen the Magic Rack. I thought it had a little bit of humor in the title thats all but it seems others were offened.

My apologies :D

I think you're reading too much into it bro. Lighten up already

That and i think that no one should play with a Joss and only play with schons!!!

Just because you endorse the Magic Rack doesnt mean i cant have an opinion. Either that or maybe your sales will eventually suffer... Hmmm well it doesnt really matter anyway its just my opinion and if you dont like it then you dont have to responed. Simple as that

First of all I am not your bro...
Second you just need to be more careful how you want to say things.. The Joss and Schon was just an example of how you shouldn't go after a another product.
You never saw a cuemaker on AZ saying not to buy a cue from somebody else right? The can say they like it or not and be constructive....
The Magic Rack sales will not suffer I guarantee you that right now...
Your tight rack is on sale on Staples and other stores a like, ours is not.

That is where you are wrong BENFICA, I bought my Magic Rack when you first sold them and it is still racking perfect, everytime, every table, every condition and it is still in great shape. How are you gonna make anymore sales off of me? :D I'll keep my Magic Rack. Ron

Wooden rack = lol.

I have no objection to these things but won't be abandoning the magic rack right away. The room owner may not agree to anyone sticking things on his cloth, whereas he won't mind the magic rack.

I've heard these spot things work fine. It may be true staples reinforcements do the job and are cheaper, but good luck getting them to positioned perfectly to make the balls tight. I assume rack tight has them sandwiched between sheets of film that you can peel off, so that all the spots stay in the correct place.

Trivia - some say the line in the Sublime Song "Same in the end" is not actually "Rec-Tite on my ass and it makes me itch". It may be red tide. The algae blooms that cause Red Tide conditions in the water can also cause skin irritation, and the lead singer was an avid surfer. The other interpretation is that it's supposedly a reference to the (presumably urban legend) rumor that KFC used to superglue their chickens' asses shut to help fatten them up. One of the symptoms of heroin addiction is loose bowels, and it's been hinted that Bradley used superglue on his own ass to combat this. As far as I know there's no actual product called "Rec-Tite™".

Lot's of gimmicks coming out these days seems like. I personally use the Magic rack. I'm open to new ideas, however I wouldn't want to risk misplacing one of holes, or the cloth stretching, etc., and creating a nine ball break rack. Who hasn't seen a table if racked at the right spot will produce a 9 ball on the break. I can't count on my fingers and toes how many tables I've seen that will do that. I certainly appreciate innovation, however I see that one headed in the wrong direction, even if used by a majority in another country.

If the Magic rack sold for $29.95 they would be all over the place by now. That's how good they are. It's pretty hard to promote something selling for $10.00 and have enough money to promote it right to the pool industry. I believe it could be piggybacked with something else or something esle piggybacked with it.

The Magic Rack will be around for a long, long time, unlike all the others over the last 10 years. I've tried just about all of them and the only one that comes close to giving as tight a rack as the Magic Rack is the Delta 13. Only thing I find wrong with the Delta 13 is if you just hit it on the side of the table by mistake you will chip the paint off leaving sharp pit marks that can snag your cloth. Johnnyt

You can also get them in clear, which is less noticeable on the table. The problem is figuring out where to put them.

The center of the forehead is the most popular place to place those little doodads, but you should avoid the clear ones at all costs.

With regard to the paint chipping on the Delta-13 Regular......We realize accidents do happen and the paint can chip if the rack comes in contact with metal. In the next 30 days, we will have our new Delta-13 Regulars for sale with a paint that is chip resistant.
Anybody can send us their current Delta-13 in exchange for a new one for only $20.00.
I don't want to spoil the excitement, but we'll also announce two new colors to add to our current line of galaxy black, radiant red, and marine blue. When the new racks are ready for shipment, we'll post the return process on our web site....www.delta-13.com.

A local pool hall has used the rack spots (imported from Japan). They aren't always perfect (like if they aren't applied to the table correctly) but overall I love 'em.

I have never had the opportunity to try the magic rack yet, so I watched this video on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akkS7b9tEbs

After he racks it for 9 ball, it looks great. But when he breaks it open, the 9 ball moves easily. In a tight rack the 9 ball won't do that. I suspect he just needed to snug up the balls a little better with his hand before breaking to fix that problem.

I also suspect the magic rack works similarly to the rack spots, except it has to be applied and removed each rack. I wouldn't mind doing that as a player. But as a room owner if you use rack spots, all the players can enjoy it all the time, without having to keep track of who has the magic racks etc. Isn't that more convenient?

From the European Pocket Billaird Federation EuroTour regulations.

1.12 Tapping of Tables
At the Eurotour, the tables are tapped. In 9-ball the position of the racked balls will be moved upwards so that the 9-ball is placed on the spot.

The Euro Tour is probably the most successful tour in the world. They use a European copy of the original US patented Rack-M-Rite Racking Template to tap the tables for easy racking for 9 ball, 10 ball, 8 ball and straight pool at all tournaments. The 9 is racked on the spot because it's too easy to make the wing ball otherwise when the rack is frozen. The British GB9 tour also uses the template.

You can get one from me (the original inventor) for $15 with free shipping by sending me a pm.

Exactly my friend, Racktight is already on a transfer so you don't have to figure it out...as Bobby said,"provided that your cloth is on tight in the first place" there is no problem, mine has been on my table (with Simonis 860)which I have played on just about everyday for the last year and a half, and it is fine....besides, if it's good enough for World Champion" Nick Varner, "World Champion" Johnny Archer (Bonus Ball) and Bobby Chamberlain, it's great for me!...Variety is the spice of life, without it life would be boring....give it a try, you might like it....I will be in Vegas for APA Nationals, raffling for Russ Espiritu so I am not hard to find...I will have Racktight there with me and on several of the vendor's tables...what could it hurt?...

Thank you whoever you are, I appreciate your support....

I have never said anything bad about the Magic Rack, in fact I have told my students who do not own a table to purchase one so they have it to practise with as it is portable, whereas the Racktight that they enjoy learning on is not, it is geared to a different market...I will gladly identify myself as Grace Nakamura, and proud to say that I am the exclusive North American distributor for Racktight:)

You don't have to worry about misplacing anything, Racktight is on a transfer, you cannot mess it up...As long as you have a good table mechanic who stretches the cloth properly when putting it on there is no problem....my racktight was put on new cloth and a year and a half later the balls still rack perfectly....keep in mind that balls do change in size and shape as they get older....it was just used for the upcoming Border Battle for TSNHD, and worked beautifully...and btw in over 100 racks, there wasn't ONE 9 made on the break, and only left the rack area a handful of times!

As I said earlier, variety is the spice of life, and I have never nor would I ever bad mouth any competitor...and have in fact said that having a combination of both systems is the way to go because the Magic rack is portable and the player can keep it with them when they are in a room where Racktight is not being used....please try it before crucifying it, that is all I ask, there will be several tables at the upcoming APA Nationals in Vegas and I will be there as well....
