The way it really went down

I don't know. Maybe, maybe not.

I do wonder which would be worse: to be a crawfish or a welsh.

One thing for sure, you can't call Dippy a crawfish. :grin-square:

A crawfish, they're a time a dozen in the pool world. Hmm, now I'm hungry. :)

Welsh? I thought it was Welch...so I looked it up and found:

JAM you are correct...It is Welsh. The Brits don't like the Welsh.:)

A real gentleman, for that matter, a real man, would let it be known why Scott will not get another game with you. Not try and extort him like you say he is trying to do to you. That would be the only thing to do in a well known case like this. If it was private, someone could easily get killed. But, any violence when everyone knows it is just plain stupid. How can you say he is extorting you when you have admitted that you owe him the money?? You are doing nothing but making yourself worse than what you don't like about him.

I havent read every word of this thread so I missed the part where Dave has threatened Scott or anyone else. I could be wrong but you might want to look up the definition of extortion. Dave is not trying to obtain anything here. Im not taking his side but this makes no sense. I will glady say im wrong if I have missed anything so far.

I would guess you've never seen dippy play in his current form.

No I haven't, but I heard Bustamante and SVB didn't like their end of giving him big spots like this, I think they both play better 9 ball than Scott. I don't know what the spot was when they played one-pocket but it was my understanding the last 3 sets were 9-ball. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

YEAAAAAAAA! Thats want this thread needed! a dab of Welch!:thumbup::thumbup:

Inside the Oldest Drinking Saloon in Nevada:

This is a very old saloon that has many memorable "stuff" in this drinking hole. One thing that I do remember is Raquel Welch's bar is hanging on the wall.

When Raquel Welch visited, she was asked to leave her bra. She agreed but insisted that all the other bras be taken down and they were! Hers is the black leopard print hanging on the antlers, though it's so dusty now, you can't really tell. It wouldn't be right to exclude anyone, so I take lingere "donations" kept in the old safe. Go ahead and peek, but remember, the custom is: if you open the door to the safe, a donation is required!

You are mistaken. He complained about the spot but SVB still won a lot of money from Dippy. Francisco was the only one in a very long line to lose to Dippy.

I didn't say he beat SVB, I said SVB didn't like his end of that game. SVB said he was in the worse trap of his life and was lucky to escape. He claimed he was hustled!

Anyone know the spot when they played one-pocket and the results of that?

thank you

I was actually just updating the readers who don't do into the Action Room what Dave was upset about.

But since you mention it, yes I do consider rubbing the balls with moisture to be cheating and a move well beneath a championship caliber player spotting a "c" player, especially a whale.

That being said, I do not think it was worth more than a couple of games in the set and if Dave allowed it, then the 50K stiff is not justified.

Chris

That's my point exactly. Lets get real, whenever your gambling whether it be pool, cards, golf,or any game that is not monitored in some way players will take an edge if given the opportunity. Have you ever seen anyone bad rack someone? move their ball on the golf course, try to peek at another players cards playing poker? I'm sure you have, or at least heard about things like this happening all the time. So basically it's your responsibility as a player to protect yourself whenever you're in a compromising position. And that certainly holds true gambling for huge stakes in a pool room. Whenever this developes it is your responsibility to stop it in it's tracks and continue from that position. If your opposition refuses to adjust and do what's right, then another decision must be made at that time.
There is nothing right about waiting untill the set is over and use such things as basis for a claim to welch on a bet, if that was the case there would never be any gambling period. There is a place and a time for everything, and there is never a place for claims of that nature in gambling.

yup by the end of the Bartram match SVB still wouldn't play (quit winners) even though people were calling him from all over the country to back him. He was the only one in the place that didn't get it was no act.

Billy I was told you were the one that told Scott to go put water on the balls. Is that true?

That is kind of an odd question to ask Billy, but I guess it would help to consider the source. Who did you hear this from; in other words, who was your source? :)

That was posted a long time ago in a thread about Scott and Dippy playing. If im not mistaken, it was the same thread as the spitting incident.

Oh, I must have missed that. I didn't read that about Billy's involvement in a ball-wetting incident.

But Mlalum said he was "told," I think. So, if he didn't read it in a thread, I was just curious if his source could be credible. That's all! :)
