The way it really went down

Ive read more of this than i would admit, just wondering who would share this with there kid and tell them "see son this is why i want you to become a pool player"

And for the "theres only one loser" putting a big bullsh*t story like this out there is a slap in the face to every person who tries to drag the game out of the mud... just keep putting your little hustles and petty scores high up on the mantel and when the last pool room closes you can all sit around talking about the time dipshit dave lost a dipshit bet to frosty and didnt pay willy... earth shattering news for sure...

yes after scott tried to robb me i took his truck.

I would be really careful if I were you. You cant really believe that they are going to let you get away with jacking them for 60K. All bad motions like that come to an end eventually.

Why would anyone share this with their kid? Would you sit him down and talk about how Barry Bonds shot so much juice he turned into a human bobble head doll in order to convince him to be a baseball player?

If a parent is relying on internet forum threads and professional gamblers for a positive parenting resource I think they have big problems.

If you don't like the thread or the people in it fine. I just don't understand all the moral outrage over something that almost no one here has any interest in other than entertainment. It is, as has been posted before, nothing more for most of us than a pool soap opera. It's the internet dude. Lighten up.

Dippy...

You are White Trash
I can tell your type, you think you are real smooth and a real con-artist. Which I'm sure when you were ripping people of selling ticket-master tickets you felt real good about yourself..?
You think it is cool being a huge sucker and blowing over 200k to somebody Not counting all the other money you have lost in life??! You are going to end up broke and miserable with zero friends. I hope somebody will have pity on you when the day comes because you will need it.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The next time I try to explain something about life to my son or daughter via internet forum will be the first..........Really?

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity......lol

Mowem Down Thanks For Your Moral Outrage. This forum needs a lot more of it. Some people are seeing this as entertainment. But a lot of other people are standing up for some illusionary right and wrong in a world obviously devoid of it. Some of us would like to see the sport taken back from the gamblers, robbers and con artists and the people who promote them. I say more morale outrage.

Aren't you a gambler ?

Dippy,

Since u wrote that Scott borrowed money before you played,

1) was that 50k?

2) why did you meet him outside hotel after you played, to pay him when he already owed you money?

You know, Frost and Gabe (in his match up before the Frost matchup) handled this whole thing wrong. Here you have a world class sucker in pool, and they got him to be angry. I mean the first rule of dealing with suckers is the sucker is always right. Everyone who has ever gambled knows this. These guys got Dippy HOT, and instead of winning millions, they only got him for a 100k or 150k or so.

Dippy, this isn't an insult to you, but more an insult to the seasoned pool gamblers you played, that let you off their hook because they couldn't see the big picture.

Alright, this thread is looooooooong, so I'm going to make an attempt at summarizing. It's more than possible that I have a few details wrong, so please correct any mistakes I've made.

Dave's Claim:
-----------------

Dave left the pool hall without paying after losing a $50k set against Scott, saying that he would pay the money soon. He then claims to have paid Scott the $50k that he owed at 2:30pm later that day. The payment was made at a different location that I can't recall at the moment.

Since Scott states that payment was never made, Dave is calling Scott a liar. He claims Scott is the fraud, and is holding out on Billy.

Scott then gave Dave a hard time the other night at the pool hall, hiring some goon to rough him up. Dave says that it was done to save face after scamming Billy.

As a penalty for doing this, Dave outright admits to taking back the vehicle that he sold to Scott for $10k prior to the gambling match up.

Billy's Claim:
---------------

Billy was a partner with Scott in the match up. Scott told him that he was never paid the $50k that Dave owed, and as such, Billy is out money as well.

Billy says that he was with Scott from 2pm till 7pm, which conflicts with Dave's claims to have paid the money at 2:30pm.

--

If these details are indeed correct, the time that he was with Scott and the time that Dave claims to have paid Scott overlap by only 30 minutes. It's possible that one person is off by an hour or so, which would make the payment possible.

If that's the case, then I really fail to see how either party can prove anything without the video tape that documents the exchange between Dave and Scott. It's really just a matter of one persons word against another. Dave's word against Scott's, which really means that this whole debacle is going *nowhere*.

Jay says that Dave admitted over the phone to Billy that he never actually paid Scott. Sadly Billy has yet to confirm this first hand.

Poor Billy is the only one who's credibility is not being questioned. Be the culprit Scott or Dave, Billy got the short end of the stick either way. :(

YUP, and more cowbell:)

I'll tell ya what this thread has shed light on...............................................................................and that is the number of posters who have only been members here for a very short time and no real-life experience who play in a friggin APA or BCA league and think they know everything there is to know about gambling and such.

It is some of the same people who were saved by wearing bicycle helmets as a kid.....and now we gotta put up with these jokers and their idiotic ideas..............

Right, wrong, left or right people.............someone owes someone big money and it needs to be taken care of ASAP. Hell, several of the dummies posting here think Billy and Scott had it coming for crazy reasons when all they are expecting is getting paid. These are some of the same people who want to hang a guy for not sending $20 joint protectors and a $500 dollar cue for crying out loud!!!!!

Now, someone gets aired for $50 large and the ball gets turned around like Scott and Billy and Lenny don't deserve their money........maybe it is too large of an amount for some to understand and think it is a fairy tale and play money........this is a serious situation here and lord I sure hope it gets worked out fast!!!!!!!!

Aren't you a gambler ?

I do gamble on occasion. as a hobby. just as you do. but i don't gamble in seedy situations, i dont' try to rob people, i don't cheat or try to find some edge, i didn't take advantage of the dippy situation, i will knock your action if i feel it's unfair but i mostly donate and try to gravitate toward decent people. i think i only gamble because to play anyone good at pool they seem to want to bet. and i like to play good players. i don't really bet that much. i recently put money in on the bartram match because bartram said he needed the money to complete the bet so i did to help him out. I'd just rather play. But that's pool.

If you're trying to make the point that because i do that I'm the same as Scott Frost and Dippy and Billy well I guess you can do that. But you're smart enough to know that's not true. If people said no gambling forever it wouldn't affect me playing my daily one pocket games because i just like to play pool.

I'd like to see more pool on tv or tournaments between the top players but i can't because the pool culture is so rotten no one with any money or reputation is going to sponsor it. Why because no one can trust a professional pool player. No one can trust professional pool promoters. It goes on and on. And because of things like on this thread. all the people that say they've done so much for pool , with some exceptions, are actually making a living off of pool. Not helping. Their helping to make a living not helping pool.

What does being a pool player have to do with it? Remember when Nancy Kerrigan was kneecapped by her competitior? Do you think people said oh let's not let our kids be figure skaters.

Certainly all the crap that high profile athletes get into doesn't deter millions of parents pushing their kids towards professional athletics.

How about sitting your kid down and letting him read it and saying don't be like these people. If you gamble be honorable and straight up and make them post.

Jeeze we match wits for money with competitors every day. Last night one of my friends was telling me about some of the multi-million $ deals he has won and lost and the things his competitors pull to get the business.

If my kid wanted to be a pool player then I would most definitely let her read this and see what the consequences are of acting childish when it comes to playing for serious money.

How about Serena (or was it Venus) and her tirade against the referee at one of the matches?

Floyd Landis in cycling?

Ben Johnson in running?

I mean come on, this is primarily one guy acting like a child. He did not pay Scott (at least he can't prove it) and he is acting all hurt about a situation at the pool room where I am sure he had plenty of mouthiness on his side as well.

100% agreed. The few times I have been on the roll I have let the other guy get away with murder on hits, sharks, you name it, nothing bothered me. However when it's gone the other way I would go on tilt and everything would bother me, even if the guy I was playing really had no chance.
