The way it really went down

So if its true (as Dippy posted) that Scott beat him for 100 confirmed paid by all parties....then a week later was asking to borrow 2, then whats the difference if Dippy stiffed him for 1 million? It would all be blown to the casinos anyway and the end financial status of the player's would be exactly the same for all intensive purposes.

That doesn't mean anything by itself. In the pool room I have often gone to people and asked them to loan me $500 so I could play so and so or for whatever reason.

It doesn't matter what Scott would do with the money - Dippy should pay up and then let it be.

Of course now Dippy is claiming that he paid Scott. Conveniently no one is witness to the payoff and there is not any way in hell to prove it.

It's a move. That's all.

Dippy could have just as easily have given the money to Incardona when he says he had Billy come and pick up the side bet.

The fact is that he stalled and didn't pay and now he is called on the carpet and he is saying he paid when he knows it can't be proven one way or the other.

Cardone and company should have taken the 25K and the Rolex when the set was over and then they would only be out the difference between what they could get for the Rolex and the other 25K.

In my opinion.

Of course very few among us hasn't been stiffed at one time or another.

The coulda-woulda-shouldas never stop and the next time you get a fish you forget all that and accommodate him and then usually the end result is that he ends up owing you and the action is over.

Trying to strong arm Dippy in the Cue Club was stupid. As trigger happy as cops are I am surprised no one got shot or tasered or arrested. Hell doing something that requires the cops being called usually results in at least a ticket for disturbing the peace.

What a mess.

Is there NO chance Scott could have either taken the money and lost it OR taken the money and stashed it?

Of course there is. That's the whole cornerstone of Dippy's contention. By attacking Scott's character he can paint the situation as exactly that.

Divide and conquer.

Scott needs to do his homework though. If you want to shake someone down and get the money then join the goverment;

http://www.theagitator.com/2009/01/29/possible-dea-mugging-of-professional-poker-player/

They took Dave's 15 large and his watch and made him sweat it getting it back and from what I read he got the money and watch back BUT the 15gs was light a couple hundred.

How about that one?

Something to think about boys and girls when you're carrying a bunch of cash around.

For anyone who is too lazy to check out the link, it's a reference to a post made in a poker forum by some guy claiming to have been at the Aria when Scott Frost was there. Scott had a large sum of money on him and was heading to play craps for $5k a roll.

The post was made on June 5th, and claims that it he saw this the Saturday prior. How does this work out time wise in relation to the Dave/Scott gambling match up?

Billy is saying the monies owed were from over a month ago. I think its the 12th right now.

Unless Scott had another gambling match where he won 'a large sum of money' BEFORE he played viffer?

Just searched for the link I saw previously and found it. Just something to look at.

Even if it does work out time-wise, it proves nothing though. Scott beat Dave out of $100k before the 3rd set, so Scott would have had a significant bankroll on him anyway.

Still, interesting enough, as it likely explains why Scott wanted to borrow money afterwords.

I think its safe to say that so far the only thing that has been proven accurate is...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................(still waiting!)

If I was a degenerate gambler (been called worse) and someone paid me $50k and I was a little wasted and half the money was mine, and I was in Vegas, and Ive been gambling for a few weeks, and and and and and. Say I lost my share of the money and only had my partners cash left, still being a degenerate gambler (been called worse) would I try and push my luck with the rest of the money to get the full $50k back?

I am in NO WAY saying Scott Frost is a degenerate gambler. (Im sure he's been called worse also)

Well, if anyone doesn't think that gambling matches are more popular to sweat here is a comparision;

NOt counting Lenny's initial thread:

This one has nearly 35,000 views, 748 replies and no end in sight.

Hall of Famer and LEGEND Jean Balukas' game FINALLY aired on YouTube and it happens to be the epic match which led to her quitting the game - just shy of 2000 views and 62 replies.

I mean not even 2000 views to see the great Jean Balukas play vs. 35,000 views talking about a disputed gambling match between a poker player and a champion?

Numbers don't lie in this regard.

Viffer lost about 130k in the 9 ball, he paid 80k. Before that he and Scott matched up also and Scott had won some big money too and Scott had been gambling at the casinos on his own money he won off Viffer. Trust me Scott was not handed 50k, he was with Billy and it was impossible. He was jerking Scott around the whole time. If I remember correctly I had seen Scott that day after they played and Dippy supposedly paid up and he was waiting for Viffer to pay and he was getting the runaround and being made to wait.

One of the biggest pool scores in recent history and a piece of it is not being paid, it will go down in the books as that, Daves word is worthless and majority of the people out there know that. I mean he admitted straight up that he took the truck back and screwed Scott out of it, unreal, if he did that and is saying he did it because Scott and friend roughed him up then why with Scott have the truck for a month and half was he not given the title for the truck?, it was because Dippy was using it as leverage and toying with him just like the 50k.

The game of Pocket Billiards deserves so much more respect than it gets, it is truly sad. When all the guys like Varner, Madden and Louie are laid to rest Ill gladly unscrew my cue for good.

i am verry easy to find, i dont hide, so why dont you not hire someone and come do it your self. YOu love to talk alot of shit, you know nothing of what happened except what your friends tell you.

so what if you heard a conversation from me and billy, i have never told billy that i didnt pay scott, i have always told him that he was paid, and he isnt getting any thing from me, and hes screwwed on a truck my friend might of sold him.

YES i helped screw scott frost out of a truck,

you guys love to talk about karma, well maybe this is karma catching up too scott.

does anyone have any thing good to say for scott, you guys all say how honorable billy is, but thats not whos word you are taking here you are taking sdcotts

DD, you might want to be extra careful about the Tahoe talk. In a legal arena, it could be misconstrued as fraud and misrepresentation. I'm not saying anybody is going to take it to court or anything, but what you did with the Tahoe is a form of fraud. :o

Anyway, you might want to rethink how you speak about the Tahoe incident.

...I'm actually quite shocked that hard core veteran gamblers didn't stiff proof the bet to begin with.

I totally understand your opinion about this, SUPERSTAR, and I know you're a veteran in the pool world, in more ways than one!

That said, when it comes to playing for big stakes against attention-getters who like to bet it up for the sole reason of putting on a show, as DD did, people will make concessions that they would not do normally, just to get the game going. Seen it many times with attention-getters who like to bet it high as the Georgia pine. It's kind of like the Emperor's New Clothes, if you catch my drift. Everybody recognizes what is happening and doesn't want to rock the boat. :grin-square:

He has been open about ripping Scott off with the Tahoe and finally came out and admitted it. Just like he said he would smash a cue over someone who cheats him or whatever playing pool but he is a coward and would not do that so like a coward he decides not to pay up and just lie about it because he felt he got moved on and was treated bad in a gambling match. Be a man and just admit you stiffed everyone, you admitted to the Tahoe after lying about that, it just took some time. Plus it can be proven about the Tahoe. I wonder why Dippy made Scott wait over a month and never gave him the title for the truck, hmmm.

I got $50 says Jay's not done talking

I'll quit talking if you give me $500.

Jay's got every right to post in this thread, the same as you do. Come on, now. Let's not get surly about about! :grin-square:
