can you do the kamui shots?

no. lol. i dont think i can even if I had kamui tips on.
this guy's stroke i spretty sick though.

Just looking at the diagrams I feel I can do 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, 14. I've done 7 before and I think at the time I was using a Triangle on my cue. None of these shots are because of the tip, they're all done with stroke. With 12 and 14 I can do them when I'm in stroke and on fast cloth. I've done them before so I know I can. A few of those others though, they just look like massive stroke shots. I'll take my camera with me to the pool hall next time and see if I can't record some of these.

Just watched the videos. Personally, I'm not impressed with his draw shots. He raises his butt end up into the air and shoots down on the ball. With it jumping like that of course you can draw it 20 feet. You want to see a really solid draw shot get Buddy Hall's 9-ball instructional video. Buddy has an effortless stroke. I would aspire to be more like Buddy than this guy.

I'm going to need pristine conditions to pull those shots off. But then, my potting % drops to the point where it'd be better off not attempting the shot in the first place :D

Put wax on the cue ball or silicone spray, if you guys were wondering how he does it, my friend would spray the cue ball with wax to do some crazy masse shots, thats how he gets so much action on the ball.

> Playing on a pristine GC5 with waxed/polished balls,I'd be embarrassed if I COULDN'T do most or all of those. The only possible exceptions would be 8 and 10,and even those wouldn't be a problem if given time to play with it.

I wonder how many takes each of those took before getting to the ones we're being shown. Surely he didn't just lay all of them down on the first try. Tommy D.

I can make them all, but I am still impressed with the video. It takes a dedicated player to hit those shots.

I'm pretty confident I can do everyone, but I think I will struggle with 12,13,14.

I have some time off this week so maybe I'll record myself trying these shots out and maybe post it on Youtube. Gotta print out those diagrams....

Oh, and I won't be using a Kamui tip so obviously I'll be at a huge disadvantage LOL!!!

he was jacked up over the rail.

you don't thik you can do 11? that's the easiest of all of them. just stroke the ball with high outside

i doubt that. i've seen guys in japan pull off similar shots all day like it was the highest % way to make the ball and get shape. they did it on pockets that were a little under 4" too!

You hit thed nail on the head with this one! The stroke is what allows him to execute these shots.

# 11 is low outside. If you have that confused with # 10 that's high inside or can be done with top only.

If I had the same conditions, new cloth, rail speed etc I'm real sure I can do all of them.

whups you're right. i'm should have said 10

These shots are a good illustration of a developed "whammy" stroke. But, it's not all in the tip: (1) the cloth makes a huge difference; (2) Since lots of these are draw shots, a cue ball that is lighter than the object ball (even slightly) will give more action; (3) anyone can put together a video like that with enough time ;)

At some point I in the past I feel like I have made all of these, or some variation of them. I know I posted a number of them years ago. Some are long gone, but here are two that are still around:

Number 8, shot a few times with my back-up cue and a moori medium [2008]. Cloth is decent Simonis 860. With a faster cloth, the cue will draw a bit longer (and below the side pocket).

Here is number 14, shot a few times with my normal playing cue with an Elkmaster! [2007] This is a tough shot just to MAKE! My table has 4.5" pockets, and at the shallow angle, just pocketing the ball is pretty tough.

4.5's is a little generous for this shot imo.

Hell to the No!

Hell to the No! I wish I could and they sold a lot to tips with this video and I was one of the fish.
