My Demo Program, Test the New Tiger Pro X Shaft - Demo Program now Closed

Edit: Sorry, the demo program is now closed to new requests but will be extended into January to finish the requests on file. Thank you for participating! It's also very time consuming and I am in my busy season at work, so I decided not to do it with other other shafts in the near future.

I am starting a free Demo program and the first shaft is the new Tiger Pro X shaft, where AZ members can try them out.

- The only hitch is you have to mail it to the next person on the list after trying them out (I’ll provide the address) within 5 days of receipt by UPS or Fed Ex Ground in the shipping container I provide with a tracking number. I am limiting it to the continental United States only for now.

I have them in Radial joint, 3/8 X 10, 5/16 x 14, and 5/16 X 18. If you have an unusual joint type, just contact me.

The Pro X is an 11.75 mm shaft similar to the Predator Z and the OB Pro. It’s a solid shaft with the new Onyx tip and short ferrule. This is a very high quality shaft with beautiful appearance and a solid, yet lively feel. It holds up beautifully to all sorts of spin shots. I would like to get your feedback right here in this thread and on an evaluation form I will send you, which I will also send to Tiger products. I also would like to get your feedback on the new Onyx tip. To me these pair up well with the new short ferrules and have plenty of grip.

To help offset the cost of the Demo program, I am offering the shafts at specially discounted prices to AZ members. I am a few blocks from Tiger and I also am offering my services to handle custom fitting to your cue if you want to buy the shaft.

If this program is successful, I plan on offering other demo shafts to AZ members in the future. I am hoping that members who try the shafts let some of their friends try them if they like them.

To participate, please fill in the form at the link below and I will advise you when your shaft will be shipped to you. After the form is submitted, you will be asked to reply to a confirmation e-mail checking your address.

Since I helped with the development of this and the new Ultra LD shaft, I am pretty excited to get them out and into the hands of players. The Ultra LD will be out in a few more weeks.

Chris

Wow Chris! That's an awesome project! Thanks to you and Tony! I'm sure you'll get some great feedback! What is the time frame that each person will have the shaft to try. I know, for myself, it took about 40 hours with my G-Core, before I had enough "feel" to know if I liked it or not (I didn't like it at all initially).

Thanks Scott, I definitely want you to try one out. What thickness do you prefer?

We have the Pro X (11.75mm) or the new Ultra LD (12.75). Can you go ahead and fill in the form above and let me know your schedule?

I'm asking people to try them for 5 days maximum, because they're going to be sent around. Most of the players will hopefully already be used to a low squirt shaft and will be looking for improved feel, balance, feedback, and performance.

They are definitely different from any other shaft I've tried - I just want to get some of them circulating.

Good Joe, I was hoping you were going to ask. That's exactly why I'm doing this. Ultimately I would like to build a "loaner library" with a lot of good shafts to test.

On the Pro X, I'm going to get the information together this weekend and make some good re-usable shipping tube, then I'll start shipping Monday.

Chris...Form submitted. I've gotten used to the 11.75, although I still swap out to my normal 13mm shafts, and adjust immediately with no problem. Hope to see you in Nov.

Just sent my info in as well. I, like everyone else so far, am pretty excited about this! It's a very cool thing you're doing, Chris.

So we're starting with the Pro X, and I assume you're planning the Ultra LD as well. Any other LD shafts you're considering doing this with? More specifically, anything from the OB line?

TATE:

man, this is a great idea.
Golf club manufacturers have been doing things like this for years. Demo days, free trials and the like.
Very effective.

You'll not only generate sales, but get valuable feedback regarding your product.

I have wanted to try one of these shafts for a long time, but none of my buddies has one.

Fro those of us without the means to buy a bunch of different shafts and compare them, this is a godsend.

Info sent and thanks.

Might I recommend 32inches of 1" -3" PVC pipe (0.25" wall?) with screw-on end caps. Then each user before shipping can just clear tape around the connection and stick a label directly to the pipe on the outside. It'll be a little heavy, but tough as nails!

I sent my info in as well, Tate.

Until recently I have never been drawn to the after-market shafts . But I am willing to open up and look to see if one of the LD shafts is for me or not.

This is a great program to btw.....Thanks!!

Fantastic! I have wanted to try these types of shafts for a while. I sent in my info. I have a players cue that is approx 8 yrs old. The website says they use a 5/16 x 18 pin. Does anyone know if this has been standard with them for that long? I also have a Dominiak cue with a radial pin. His website only comments on unilock joints now, but I think it is a 3/8 x 10 pin. If anyone can confirm that or knows otherwise, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Corey, that's what I was thinking - I'm going down to Lowe's tomorrow. Hope to see you Sunday, my friend!

i'd like to get on the list to try one of these out

They told me you can't have one in Stockton unless you give up some more weight!

Seriously, though - we'll get them up to ya!

I'm going to have to go down and get some more I think - this is going pretty good.

I would like to do the same with the OB Classic line if Royce wants me to do it - I haven't asked him yet, but I plan on it. Tiger already said they had no problem with that at all and I actually paid for these tester shafts. I just wanted to see how this was going to go first and didn't want to bite off too much (since I have to run my own non-pool business too!).

I also helped Tiger develop the Proi X and to a lesser extent the new LD, so I felt an obligation to help them get started with some experienced pool players.

If I get the OB Classics, that way people can do a side by side comparison. They are two distinctly different shafts and I know each will find their own following, just a matter of personal preference. It's hard to say who will like what exactly.

Yes, I'm doing the LD when the new "tweaked" batch is ready in three weeks.

Lol, i like you're sense of humor bro!

on a serious note thought i've wanted to try out so many different shafts i'd be willing to put up the cash (amount the shaft costs new) and a little extra for a rental fee.

If you come down to LA you get to try everything made for the last 100 years! Seriously, my best hitting cue is a Brunswick 26 1/2 from the 1920's. Frank the Barber tried it and I almost had to tackle him to get it back.
