I thought you AZers would enjoy seeing a nice interior photograph of the Cue and Cushion Billiard Room in St. Louis circa 1950. This photo was taken immediately after the installers for the Brunswick Balke Collender Company equipped the room.

Where is this room located, and is it still open today?

Now those are pool tables!!! Classy and built to last. Wow, what a great photograph. Thanks for sharing.

Never been there even though i only live half hour away. But there is still a cue and cushion in st louis. Always hear good about the place. Checked there website and looks way different. But also say since 1966 so maybe different.

Just looked at it again.. its a beautiful room, I don't think I've seen anything like this in America. Looks more like a room in Asia. Is this strictly a pool hall without a bar?

I feel pretty confident in saying that if this is indeed C&C (the photo looks strikingly similar to a room, I believe, in California) it has next to nothing to do with the existing edition: owners, building, tables, condition.

I was gonna say... I've spent a good amount of time in C&C in just the last 2 years, and the floor, ceiling and (most importantly) the support beams for the building are all different than this pic. The C&C I know looks like it hasn't been remodeled since 1962, wood pannelling walls, old yellowed ceiling tiles, worn-through thin 70's colors carpet, flourescent lights. The benches along the back wall are still there though.

Regardless... I wish it looked like this!! hahaha

They have an account here, but I dont think they check it too often. I wasn't aware they were around in the '50's, thought they started up in the mid-60's, as the sign in their lobby and on their site says: "Family owned since 1966".

Did they have recessed lighting in the 50's? The room is beautiful but looks entirely too modern for the 1950's era, imo of course.
