K2 cnc

K2 Mill

Hi Craig,
Gantry?.. I don't have that one..
I got their KT -704 Mini Mill..
It was enough for my Caps..
I think it is the same one Darrin Hill had..
He sold his..
Darrin's was modified with the long Table for cues.

I use a long laminated board in my 18" x 7" Table.
I poor.. Can't afford those luxuries.. :embarrassed2:
I love my Machine..

What would you like to know?

I see they have a cnc for cue makers. I was wondering how people like them compared to cnc's i've seen people sell on this site.

I found k2 on Youtube last night and was impressed with their set up.

I'm not in no way in need of something this high end right now, but in the future you never know.

Just becasue it looks good doesn't mean it is good, so any feedback would be great.

thanks,

The K2 is more affordable. The Blurry Customs CNC setup makes me go bankrupt just by adding small options. Not very affordable, unless you have deep pockets. For a bit over 8K you can have a real nice K2 setup, but once again if you use that money and have somebody else build you one, most likely it will cost you half the price.

Tony,

Wow, really?

I've built more than my share as I build all our machines. I have built one for a friend, and I'm in the works on another right now for a local cue maker. I know I can certainly build one for $4000, but there's no way I would sell one for that!

My post referred only to a DIY cnc, sorry. I have autocad knowledge but I don't think I could put one cnc machine together. Royce are you saying that k2 charges a fair price?

Tony,

I haven't priced any K2 machines myself, but yes I do think they are charging fair prices.

They're in business so they must be selling their products. If they're selling products, then they must be priced fairly.

I think it's possible to build a CNC for $4000, depending on what you want it to do, and what come on it. I mean, a good spindle can cost more than $4000 by itself, but if you keep things reasonable then 4K is doable. However, it would be crazy to ask someone else to invest their time, knowledge and capitol to build a machine and sell it for cost.

My neighbors build machines for the semi conductor industry. They build machines that pick up chips that are .005" x .010", and they pick them up with a vacuum tip and accurately place them on a card or tray. But I assure you, $4000 wouldn't come close to the cost of these machines.

In the end, what's important is what you do with it to make a profit. If you do that, then really the machine is free, right?

Just to let everyone know the cost of the K2 machine with the two work stations with out computer or software is $7000.
