Ok, as some of you know After years of playing on tour together and spending countless hours together with the Legends and Champions Pool Tour on the road. It seems that Johnny and Earl just DO NOT care for each other very much. One says the other is a cry baby and one says the other is responsible for his absence at the Mosconi Cup.

There have been words thrown out here and there that I have kept to myself as it is really their business. However with all the woofing between players these days I asked them if they wanted to match up. They both said yes without hesitation. They did not even ask about the money believe it or not, I believe its more of a 'Shut the F&%k up match. However the match will be for $10k. At this point it looks like a 2 day event, day one = race to 15-8-ball. Then a race to 15-10-ball then a race to 150 or 200 14.1. All on a 9ft table probably Brunswick unless we get some help from Diamond.

Lastly, I am wanting to make this a double header and also add Dennis Hatch and Daz Appleton to the deal and have them either play a race before or after the Scorpion and the Pearl.

I suppose you all guessed it,l my new years resoloution is to make some shit happen this year. Hopefully all will get paid and all will have fun.

Oh and I will also do everything I can to get these guys with wireless mics too. I seem to remember the last time anything like this happened. I remember a quote 'When its your turn you can talk when its mine you just shut up"

Nice lineup brewing, good to see champions battling it out, if they really hate each other though I don't want to see it. If it is more of a grudge match with mutual respect than swing it pimp.
 
It the match were legit, and few are, usually one dumps to bet on the winner to cut up all you suckers in the crowd, Earl, with his head now scrambled, would lose to Archer, it would be ugly to watch, once Johnnie gets a lead and Earl melts down, its 10-6.

But they are too smart, to ever get you a legit match, there is no money in doing that. Watch all you want, both are fantastic talents and great world champions, just dont be a sucker and bet on them. Its all a con to make a fast payday, with these guys. Since the tour wont support them, they think, well you can now. :grin:
 
Sweet! If there is a time clock even better. When Archer told Earl to shut up it was because Johnny was slow playing and Earl told him to just shoot.

Just FYI, The players nor I will be taking any bets. I know due to their history together that you might think its a little hype but I am here to tell you that the feelings toward each other isn't hype. They do both have a mutual respect for each others ability but also have issue with a number of different things that the other has done or does.
I am sure there are a few insiders on here who have also kept their mouths shut to this point so as not to cause any trouble but they can feel free to chime in. I told both players that if we did this and I got the $$ put up for it that I would need to let all know a little about the back ground of this and they said "Thats fine I don't care, just set it up". I am very close to the inside of this deal obviously and I will not be betting on the match. First I would never ask them to fix a match and secondly They would not fix this match. They want to WIN. I hope that helps your concerns.

You'll ned a shot clock............or Archer will turn the oven on SLOW !!! And Strickland will simmer .

Yes, a shot clock will be in place and a ref. Johnny actualy told me to do a 10 second clock shot so he can shut Earl up on his speed of play. I told him that was not a good move but maybe a 20 or 30 second clock

I know they both would like to play some golf and be warm for a change.

Damn, 10 seconds! Johnny can't get that piece of lint off the table and shoot in 10 seconds. LOL:rolleyes:

Then there's Hatch and Appleton.
Now Archer and Strickland.
There's also Pagulayan and Dippy Dave.
Let's not forget Strickland and Van Boening.

A little fever is good for pool. There's also Jay Helfert and JoeyA but that may not happen until Jay loses those GingerBread man legs. :grin::grin:

Rick, as you know I would love to have this in PHX. As you also know this town just isn'ty into this kind of thing anymore it seems and the $$ I have to raise to get it would be almost impossible. As of right now I have a sponsor for this event and so it will be their call as to where we have it as they will be adding $$ to the pot and paying the players expenses.

I hope your new year is awesome though Rick and that you get to come to at least one of these events. My guest of course. (I need a photographer) :)
