Darren Appleton 2010 Player of the year.

Well deserved, he played great at the M-Cup.

Darren sure does rise to the occasion at the big tournaments, it brings the best out of him. At the regonal events he plays good, at the big international events he plays GREAT!!! the bigger the $$, the more pressure, the better he plays.

He came with some monster shots at the M-cup when they needed them bad, he lucked a few balls in he was just trying to hit(especially the 5 in that first match) but just hitting the balls were amazing shots.

I'm very happy for him, and proud to be his friend.

Best

Fatboy

where can I see the list of player of the year, on each year since lets say 1980 until now.

I would love to know this....thanks

I agree with AzBilliards naming Darren Appleton as the 2010 Player of the Year. It is obvious that he deserves it with his winning ways.

Every great pool player has a streak, and this is the beginning of Darren's. How long it lasts is anybody's guess. Look at Sigel, Hopkins, Varner, Balukas, and other American great players who were on the front pages of every billiard magazine for years.

If only the BCA could vote fairly, like AzBilliards, in the operation of their Hall of Fame, it would be a godsend to pool in North America.

Bravo to AzBilliards, and congratulations to Darren Appleton!

What is wrong with the BCA? They have Corey Duel ahead after Turning Stone?

Congrats Daz it's a been a good year, really hope to see more of you this year here in the States. Would love to see you play the Gem City Open (Seminole Tour) in Marietta this year. Last years field contained a lot of the top players adding Daz would be amazing.

I think -- and I may be wrong -- that Mike Howerton and Jerry Forsyth are handling the ranking points for the BCA organization, at least that is my understanding. So, of course, it is fair. ;)

It is hard to dispute ranking points when only two tournaments have been played so far this BCA tournament fiscal year. :p

I think that's right, at any rate. It is the $25,000-added Joss Turning Stone won by Corey and the Seminole's tournament that Earl won. Those are the first two BCA-ranked tournaments.

I am referring to the BCA selection process for the BCA Hall of Fame and BCA Man of the Year.

I'll go for that.

I have enjoyed watching Darren's rise to the top. Guaranteed there has been a lotta effort there, great to see it pay off.

Daz- are the videos of you at the hotel in the tropics still posted anywhere? I wish I remembered more of the details, but I do remember enjoying them.

Congrats to Darren, very deserving.

He played exceptionally well and excelled on two of the biggest stages of the year as well as stellar play in many other events.
