Just in case some of you missed it and are following this thread only I have the comentary team set. It will be Nick Varner and Buddy Hall, people will not be able to say the "people in the booth didn't know what they were talking about" :) just fyi in case you missed my other thread explaining this

Woooooo, Matt Lock is locking up with "the" Lock N Load -- "I'm lovin' it!"

Lock N Load View Post
I love this statement Mark! Thanks again for all of your wonderful work and time to make this possible for US! I will enjoy this. JA will make quick work of this match up!

Lock N Load.

Well Lock , since you are now a Huge Johnny Archer fan I will take some of that action and back my home state and the player with the greatest number of World Pool Championships and US Opens .If you want to keep it friendly and say $20 I know we both have paypal.

Matt, are you going to be wearing your Earl jersey during the match . . . you know, the one with bungee cord suspenders tied to weights that are duct taped to your ankles to keep it tucked in nice and tight?

We need Joe Rogan in the booth during this one from time-to-time (not serious Mark Cantrill, just messin' -- Matt90 is the nutz and I like to crack them every once in awhile just for grins. The return retort from him might leave a scare though. . . :( ).

For anybody else wondering why this event is going off in Lincoln, NE...it's because we were willing to make it happen. Got a lot of pool interest in this area, and have managed to do 2 exhibitions and pool schools a year apart with great success! Mark Cantrill has allowed me to promote his product here, and we are excited to have that opportunity!

A lot of folks here in Lincoln have stepped out our comfort zones, and worked to make this a reality...Nils McConnell (Owner of Drifters), Bob Finke, myself and especially Mark, have put max effort into this. If you are nearby, please come see it in person!!!

Chris

One of the owners of Drifters happens to be a Certified Ref!

I would rather have a certified player reffing a shot then a "certified" ref.

I have seen alot of truly horrific calls made by certified refs who cannot shoot. I have seen very very few bad calls made by actual players who can put a 3 or 4 pack out there on occasion whether they had ref certification or not.

When you get the flyer together, please post it in this thread so that us at WWSPS (World Wide Pool Streaming Promotions) can get copies to our subscribers -- FREE of charge of course ;)

Glad this is going to happen. Should be a great match. Question though, is it winner breaks? Just thinking that if it is, it is feasible that you could lose the first set 15-0, then win the next 2 sets and end up losing overall. In my mind, that doesnt seem right. If you win 2 of the 3 games, there should be no way you lose overall. JMHO.

What happens if Earl actually beats Johnny?

What will Johnny say?

What will forum members say?

I'm just curious if Johnny will admit that Earl was the better player or if Johnny's supporters will say that Earl was the better player, at least that day. OR, will other things be said, not so congratulatory.

Those who don't think Earl can get the job done, what would you say?

Strickland v Archer (w/ Hall & Varner on the mics!)

This match will be awesome! Earl v Johnny with the cash and, more importantly, the pride on the line. Shot clocks?, jump cues?, rack your own? or not, 'How 'bout we play on a 5x10?', arm (leg?) weights, 'let's try a set on a Gold Crown', ' you know what, I don't think you can beat the guys in the booth'. It might take 5 years to settle this (we can only hope), and I gotta go figure out how to get on the 'Good Action List'. Great job, and good luck with the match Mark!

Is there a shot clock?

Good point. There needs to be not only a shot clock, but there
definitely should be a neutral racker. Some players rack better
than they break, if you know what I mean. :embarrassed2:

I don't know if Nils will be acting as a ref, but he's a sporty player in his own right I assure you

Hey all, I just got back into Phoenix last night at midnight from being on the road with the Legends and Champions Pool Tour. I did not have my computer with me which is good as I didn't have much time to do anything.

I will be getting the official Press release done very soon that will outline the rules and a lot of the questions that are being asked. I will answer a couple though right now.

We will have a ref that will be racking the balls, I want this to be an exciting and fair match and so after consulting with my fellow wizards I think we are going to go with loser breaks. I think this will really make it a challenge to just run away with the match.

More to come on this very soon,
Mark,

New news, This match will be played on a Diamond with tight pockets. Thats all I know at this point. But the players have agreed to the table and I will follow up with what kind of diamond and hopefully pocket size. I may not know the pocket size til the table is set up as we are going to do what we can to tighten the pockets one way or another when setting up.

Archer agreeing to play on a diamond??? Well at least he has his excuse when earl smokes him.

I'll be the ref. I will work cheap. All I need is a place to stay food to eat and I'll do it
