You can go to SW in Vegas and see how they make em. Its not a secret.
Kerry was a cuemaker and kept them for personal viewing. Me not posting the xrays is not out of line then.
I think it's 6 of one, a half-dozen of the other, IMO. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. But I am curious why you are posting...just that you have the xrays of the SW but you're not gonna show them?
Post the pictures already.
Had my Szamboti x-rayed years ago by a dentist. He was really curious
why I raved about Gus being the best cuemaker ever.
If I find the pictures I will post them.
Mind you..him being a dentist and all....
...he then tried to sell me a bridge...![]()
A good friend of mine is a x-ray tech. I was bored so I took a visit to his job and put my South West put under the x-ray.
I am getting requests for pics to be sent. I will not send any pics at this time. I now know what a Pandora's box is.
If you'er worried about violating intellectual property rights ( not sure if that is what stops you from posting the xrays), that whole concept is under study since the internet has changed everything.
Here's a link to a class about the new ways of IP and its future. I'd recommend Kinsella's teachings....I've read his stuff for years.
That class is a good one for inventors and authors....the old royalty check might become a thing of the past, thus other ways of making money are being found.

Jeff,
Interesting post and train of thought. I would say that whenever a manufacturer releases something to a customer he releases his right to ownership however the intelluctual property concern exists.
Liability for exposing a trade secret is a very real thing.
However lets just say you cut that cue up in bits and figured out what he did and no one else knew about it, or even if they did and you copied that style of cue making.
As long as you did not market it as a South West or South West copy there wouldnt be much anyone could do because----you cannot copyright a method----only a thing----.
In that way a good name is everything and your methods and results are what sets you apart and everything else is a knock off that might be nothing more than a cheap copy designed to steal market share.
But taking a picture and posting it publicly might be considered a form of commercial espionage "that would reveal little" but might be conscrewed to a damage in a court of law. So youd better hope that business continued to be good then huh.
I think I would burn the xray not to mention it might endanger a friends job. Jobs are too hard come by these days.
