Whats the strangest thing(s) you have seen happen on a pool table?

Maybe I should re-word that,,,,naaa,,,try to keep it clean. (or not)

For me ,,,a friend shot a ball in the side pocket,,,hard,,,and the ball went in the pocket,,,,through the table tracks and come back out on the table from opposite side pocket.
I don't remember what brand table it was, but we tried 99 more times to do it again ,,,and we could not make it happen again.

I broke 3 ball one time and made all the balls in the same side pocket,,including cue.
What was cool about it,,,all of them filed in the pocket,, millimeters apart,, from all different angles. Went from all the balls on the table ,to none on the table in less than a second because they were so close to each other as they fell in.

I once broke eightball....

Once I broke an eightball rack on a barbox and made six stripes and nothing else....

I also broke a nineball rack with what I called the texas two step. I would take two steps and place my bridge and break from the spot in a single motion. I broke and hit the rack so square that the CB jumped six feet straight up and got caught on the chandelier above the table...

Here's one of the "flukier" things I've ever had happen...and I caught it on tape! I've repeated it on several occasions, too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6N502QdghE BTW, if you look closely...the two guys playing on the table in the background are: Steve Klapp (nucues) and Larry (Iowa_player).

I've also seen a person break (poorly) and have the CB bounce up in the air, bounce on the top of the side cushion, land on top of the rail, and roll all the way down & fall into the corner pocket.

I've also seen a person break (poorly again) and have the CB bounce up in the air, ricochet off the side cushion, slam into the 9B & slam it in the corner pocket. What's worse is this was during a weekly break pot where the guy won a few hundred for that sh!tty break.

I'll probably think of more.

The weirdest thing I ever saw was a "reverse" shimmed table at a fair. It was a carnie game where you had to run 4 balls to win a big stuffed animal. The narrowest point was the pocket opening - and I'm not kidding when I say it was about 2 1/2" - barely wide enough for the ball to pass through.

Hill - Hill. Slightly hooked by the 4. Hop over. Fire 3 in side. Cue ball bounces off the top rail up about a foot off the bed. Tomahawks the 9-8 carom in the side. 8 goes one bank in the corner. Cue ball goes one rail makes the 7 and sits and spins in the pocket for 10 seconds which felt like 10 minutes and parks on the edge and doesn't go down. I win.

The guy still talks about it 12 years later. Big $20.00 payday. I clear 6 bucks after table time.

I made that exact shot in a tournament this past weekend. Weird. It was on a Brunswick medalist.

Breedlove

Match between him and sigel. He shoots this shot and it doubles or triples the side pocket and then rolls across the table for perfect position. It was a great fluke.

not sure how strange it is. But I was playing 8ball and my turn to break. After I broke, all of the stripes were on one side, the solids on the other, and the cue and 8 ball in the middle dividing them. thought it was funny. :D

Sparks Flying!!!

Scotty Townsend Shoots the 1 ball in the side pocket at warp speed and a blue flame shot off the end of his cue, this is a true story and I know because I was playing him in the tourney. Weirdest thing Ive ever seen on a pool table by a long shot.

The late Tony Ellin broke the balls very hard, and sometimes his power would create some memorable reactions as the balls were sent to the rails. The diagrammed shot puzzles me to this day. He hit the balls so hard, that the 3 ball went three rails around the table, struck that side cushion with some kind of masse spin on it - and it tucked itself back into the rail a second time and flipped in off the corner pocket point. It defied logic, it defied physics... but those things happened pretty regular with Tony.

CueTable Help

This past weekend at the Iowa Valley state tournament I saw a guy break, the cue ball flew over the end rail, bounced off the concrete floor and hit the body of another table and bounce back onto the original table the guy was breaking from just slightly missing the rack. Would have been a hell of a story had he hit the rack on the way back up.

It wasn't me :D.

I was playing in the semifinals of a local nine ball tournament. I was hill-hill with my opp and he was shooting the last nine ball. It was an easy shot and I was happy to place 3rd. Just as he is shooting the ball an autistic boy screamed as loud as he could and jumped in front of the pocket he was shooting. He missed the shot and I ended up winning. That was the strangest thing that happened to me.

Shot a routine four foot shot into the corner pocket pretty hard. Object ball goes into the pocket, disappears, then shoots back out onto the table bed, spins in place for about a second an inch or two in front of the pocket, the spin finally grabs the cloth and the ball shoots back into the pocket. Voilà!

strangest one I've heard of:

9 ball side pocket. the shot misses completely, cueball runs 4 rails and makes the 9 as intended.

Wierdest thing...9 ball frozen on the diamond nearest to the side pocket they hit their object ball (like the 3 or 4 something like that) cue ball comes off nicks the 9 ball, the 9 ball goes down the rail and the turns and falls into the side pocket from being frozen to the rail. Now that was some BS!!!!

I stood there for about 30 mins rolling balls past that side pocket and couldn't get any to even come close to dropping in.

Friend of mine jumped a ball firmly from nearly center table, it hit the rail and bounced into the next table's corner pocket like it was laser-guided. Once-in-a-lifetime.
