Si Meng Chen

If you ever play her in a tournament I will bet on her, whatever you want. Nothing personal and I know you're a pretty good tourney player yourself. I have no idea if she gambles. You will have to arrange that one yourself.

Time to get u in some women events for the side action..i got u a lawyer Gotti..In case u catch a case for torturing a minor...

Funny how the good players seem to get all the rolls and their opponents make mistakes and miss balls. Weird how that works. Another funny thing is how easy she makes it look to run out, when she's always in line all the time. Never has to make a tough shot, so maybe she isn't that good. I stand by my earlier comments. This young lady is currently the best woman player on the planet!

According to the match I saw from the youtube link posted here Si Ming wasn't in line all the time. She got out of line several times but recovered nicely with a couple very strong shots.

Your opinion is highly respected certainly but based on this particular match I don't share it about her being the best female player alive much less of all time.

Jean Balukas posted a lot of wins against men in pro events. Karen Corr has won three Joss tour events and placed high in a lot more. Allison Fisher has knocked off many male pros in tournaments.

Si Ming has a long road ahead to equal the achievements of these three women. Only time will tell.

As to this one match though her opponent gave away half the match with missed balls and missed safeties and missed position. We can do the stats on the match to include the rolls and those stats will tell a different story than your opening paragraph sets up.

I do agree with you that it was a sheer pleasure to watch her play and at 17 she can only get stronger.

I don't know if she was out of line or likes to shoot hard cuts which she was great at. She sure can pocket balls.

I watched few vids of this girl play, and let me tell you, I agree 100% with what Jay said... she is so good, reminds me of allison when she was young :)

She has very effective 10 ball break!!! I think she came up dry only once and was making multiple balls on most occasions.

Reminds of SVB break where neither of them seems to over-hit the cue ball but the rack goes flying.

One....
I read KAREN BARTON on the username... and about John using his wife username or not.. i don't care about it.
As long as the username is different with John username, it is wrong to attack the post. Why??? i just want to be positive thinking. I have some bad experience here that ERIC HU always think that me as John barton.

Two...
If Mlalum have some problem with John..he should settle it like a man. Give John a call or email him and ask him how to solve their problem. To attack someone username as John and hijack the OP thread with some BULLSHIT is a COWARD action... and i don't like a coward man, that's for sure.

Best

Funny, "Dedy" but you and JB are the only two that like to address me by my full name, when going on a rant.

And, rant you do...very much like the other kook in question.

Eric >still thinks "sengkun108" is a shill account and expecting your daily post count to rocket

Great break for 10 Ball. I wonder how many balls she would have made playing 9 Ball?

Great write-up Jay. I had to see what the hype was.

Watching this now over lunch. Hate to sound sexist, but the way she cues, it looks like a man is hitting the ball. Use of spin and rails and how the "hit" is applied to the cue ball, does not look like any of the women players I have seen. Maybe Jasmin, but I have not really watched her play. Most women players just use speed/follow/draw, not a lot of rail to rail shape or spinning the ball to get there.

Chris, many people share your view; it is a mockery of being banned, if you can side step it with another account. It is highly coincidental that Karen's account starts posting obsessively the miunte her husband gets banned, then goes dormant once he is reinstated. Ironically, John Barton has been banned more times, from AZB and other sites than almost anyone (except Fast Larry).

Here's another thread on being banned: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=200654

Eric >should be banned for mentioning "he who shall not be named"

John got his wife Karen banned now.:)

Most women shooters prefer a pendulum stroke with the elbow way up. She strokes more like a man with the elbow lower and with a slight elbow drop at the end to keep her cue level.

Hi Jay

Glad to know your back there, well about Chen Si Meng, i have the opportunity to be her translator during the concluded Philippine Open 2011
first of all this lady's dream is to become the youngest World Women 10 ball Champion which she actually did, she was actually joking that she cant be the youngest World Women 9 ball champion since this title is now being hold by Liu Sha Sha also at the age of 16 years old
well last year during the Yalin World Women champion, she was invited but sad to say, she already commited herself into trainning for the Asian game which she won Gold, all the hard work paid off,
and yes it is true that she is one of Wu Cha Ching student, who did train her, teach her.
she also finished 2nd in the recent Amway cup in Taiwan last March where Ga young kim won.

Well Fu Xiao Fang, Liu Sha Sha and Chen Si Meng wanted to go to US to play, but one problem would be communication, well all of them are trying to learn to speak English

well Jay, i still communicated with all of them, even Wu Jing, i always try to call them once every 2 weeks to say hello and try to know what's up

Take care Jay

Thank you for the updates on the 4 women. Not too many here mention Wu Jing, but she is a top player. Please keep us updated to when the 3 or more women will invade the US. Johnnyt

I am officially inviting them now to the U.S. Open! I will see what I can do about arranging accommodations for them if they can come. They must still pay an entry fee ($400 each this month for them). Have their representative contact me asap. Thanks Joyren

That would be awsome is these young ladies enter the US Open 9-ball Championship. Then if Jasmin, Ga Young Kim, X Pan, A & K Fisher, Karen Corr, and a few more of the top women pros to enter I believe it would be a record year at the gate and ppv. Johnnyt

Oct. 16-22 in Chesapeake, Virginia. That's a suburb of Norfolk, VA., where they will fly into. It's on the East coast of the USA. Tell them that first prize will be at least $40,000 US. It is open to men and women.
