Would everyone please stop putting words in my mouth on this issue! I would like to make it clear that I have not yet committed to play in the US Open. I did tell Barry that I was not notified and did not read the ABP press release before it was made public. I currently am confused as to my position. I was originally on the "3 year" board of the ABP and then I got a call from a player saying that I was no longer on the board.

I talked to a few other players who told me that they never voted nor were they asked to vote me off of the board. If I am on the board then I would have liked to have had the opportunity to look over the details of Barrys offer. And have a chance to vote. From my position I want to let the players know they have my support but I need to know that it really is the players who are doing the talking here. I think to make this official Barry should put his offer in writing and the players involved should sign or email their final decisions about this matter.

Man, I remember when the UPA and its president banned Corey and Earl from the organization, threatening that they could not play in the UPA Tour events unless they signed a legally binding contract and joined the UPA.

This is like deja vu all over again!

This is truthful post.
I have no interest in any of "The" problem.
I was a fly on the wall, and I saw this.

Corey Deuel

Corey does not march to the same drummer as the rest of the pool playing world. That is why he has been so creative - he thinks out side of the box.

I am quite certain he is one of many who refused to sign the 'contract' of the ABP. I don't even think the ABP really had an election or anything else.

They have formed a group and they say their goal is to get paid by promoters. That is a good goal and one that should not be necessary.

BUT - they have seemed to add other things to the mixture (seeding, rules, etc).

I am like many who think there was a better way to handle this.

We all want the problem resolved - we all want the US Open to continue. But when it gets to 'nitty-gritty time' - I bet Corey plays (and many others too).

I am not picking sides. But pool players NEED to play pool. Lets not let poliitc get in the way (again!!)

I have offered to help out - I don't think too much thought was given to that suggestion either.

Being a pro pool promoter is a VERY TOUGH JOB! if the players make it any tougher - some of us will do something differently - and it probably won't include pro players!

We do this because we love pool - not for the money. Is somebody listening??????

I think it's interesting how Corey got voted off of the ABP board when they never voted on it nor were they asked to vote him off the board. It sounds to me like the ABP board is either corrupt, inept or incompetent.

He clearly is the smartest cookie of the bunch!!!!!

The ABP and the Us Open corporation are such poorly run organazations that their ineptness is equaled only by the US Congress and the US Senate. The mud slinging is pathetic.

Johnny? Wtf?

Johnny, get over yourself and quit this bullshit.....Did anyone not get paid....so what if it took a little time...you got paid...You played a game that you love and made money...The man is putting a tournament and guaranteeing a good prize fund...If you beat a guy out of 100,000 would you get mad if it took him three months to get it all to you...would you boycott him and not play him anymore...your gonna screw this up for everyone...Remember the BCA US straight pool tournament .....YOU DON"T? thats because they stopped having it after the players decided they wanted to boycott the tournament...You think he would have a problem filling a field full of amateurs with this kind of prize fund? hell no....Johnny get your head straight...If i was him i'd boycott the lot of you from the tournament...Bet he wouldn't have a problem filling the field then!

Yet, apparently, completely out of the loop. If he's not even sure of what's going on how can he lead these guys? How can anyone lead these guys?

It just amazes me how they are screwing Corey.

It's really about a couple of guys in that organization. They just have their peers and fellow pro friends to sign some kind of list.

I don't think they know what they are even signing up for.

Archer and that Rodney guy are in it for themselves.

I bet that organization gets a cut from players in their organization. It's just a way to sign up and pay fees to the ABP.

Either they have froze Corey out or the lawyer is really running the show. Johnnyt

You sir are a moron, if there is one thing I can absolutely guarantee it's that neither Johnny or Rodney are in it for themselves as you are trying to portray it. It's people like you who get involved, make outrageous and libelous statements as above that are perpetuating the situation. I have my views on who is right and what they need to do and how they need to go about it. Unless they ask for my views, I will not be giving them because like 99.9% of people on here I do not all the facts as both sides see them.

People should only make statements on what they know to be the facts. If I was either of these players I would ensure my lawyer contacted AZ Billiards about your statement in this post. You seem to be accusing them of theft and that is clearly libel.

The lawyer?

Why is it the lawyers always get the bad rap? Oh, that's right, they usually deserve it. But maybe, just maybe, not this time. Take a closer look at that ABP list. Who on there has a history of threatening people or groups with a boycott. I think you may find your answer as to who is really calling the shots.

The fact that Dom pappa is an ass is obvious. Look at the posts.... A flaming troll in every respect

Mike...Hard to find someone to lead, when it's basically "all Chiefs, and no Indians"! LOL It's dog-eat-dog in professional pool, and every man is out for himself! Like it or not...that's the reality, and it hasn't changed in 50 years!

Johnnyt...I happen to know Dennis VERY WELL, and I absolutely BET THE FARM that he is definitely NOT running the show. He's helping out, because he, like us, loves pool, and wants to do anything he can to try and help out! Dennis has probably done more things himself to promote pool, than most of the pro players put together!

And we are sure your 'educated' opinion is wholly objective...

If the ABP's motives were anything other than short sighted and self-serving, it would have let Barry know that it would base next year's participation on this year's actions. It would lay out reasonable demands based on realities, not fantasy.

ABP is trying to strongarm the Man, but it fails to realize that the the only thing they have to offer is their presence.
