no more free water at Hanks

I think he framed the buck and put it on the wall. :D

Did Hank actually collect the dollar?
I don't want to start a Watergate scandal, but my sources tell me
that Hank didn't actually collect the buck.
For the sake of full disclosure, I received a free Jack & Coke from Hank on Sunday.

I paid him what he asked for. My pool time-water-french fries. Not my problem if he can't add.
And Ted got a free Jack and coke because the coke machine ran out of syrup and the drink was not right. Just for the sake of full disclosure.

For Gods sake Ted, don`t start another Watergate scandal.

At Hanks pool room in Denver they used to put out glasses and a pitcher of ice water for free. Now that is gone and there is a sign "Bottled Water" $1.00.
Any opnions on this?

Crawfish would have gone old school and stabbed Hank.....I miss the old days....

Wheres Richard Nixon when we really need him?

OK, you got me, it was a free Jack and half-Coke.

Old Tricky Dicky was a cuesmith of the first order. He kept his skill a secret because he feared it would hurt him politically. I once watched him run six racks of 9-ball at a private room in an LA hotel. Had to take a secrecy oath.

Now that he's dead, it's out of the bag.

As for Hank, I hear his new parking fees kick in next week.

I never thought it would happen, but I bought a bottle of water at the pool room last night.....

Of course I had to have blood work done today, so no food nor drink other than water for me last night. But still, I thought of you poor folks out in Colorado as I sipped on my bottled water. :p

Thank you for keeping us in you thoughts.
It's tough out here.
I've been racking balls for 10-cents a game trying to scrape up a dollar, so
I can enjoy a bottle of water just like you rich people.

Ah, I see the problem. We have a returnable bottle law here, so we have to pay a deposit on any soda, beer, water, etc bottles and cans. All I have to do is collect 20 cans, take them to the recycling center, and I just bought my bottle of water! :p

Down here in Texas, we use our empty bottles/cans for plinking targets. They may get recycled later, but they're gonna have LOTS of holes in 'em ;)!!!

Maniac (would never pay for water if Crown was available)

Justadub wouldn't have been drinking water if he didn't have to do bloodwork, either. (holy third-person, Batman!)

Please note that I scheduled said lab work for today, not tomorrow or the next day. Those are league nights, after all. :p. No water for me on league night.

I like the entrepreneurial spirit of you folks out in Bangor.
Could you take our bottles to the recycling center as well?
I've got one that I could send via next day air, and you will have it tomorrow.
Send the proceeds to Ted C/O Hank's Billiards in Wheatridge, Colorado.

I have a place nearby that does the automatic free pitcher of water, along with other nice touches, and it's really appreciated.

that being said, my main reason for going is the good equipment and cheap daytime deal. Take either of those away, and I don't care how much free water I get. Take away the free water, and I'm still coming there for the equipment and the special.

I think though I wouldn't risk badwill just to get one or two extra bottles of bottle water sold. The guys who aren't spending money on drinks now will just continue to not spend money, or at least that's how I'm built.

I overheard the owner of my local pool room say, "The thing I hate most is giving water away for free". I really couldn't believe that it is such a big deal, but apparently it is!

Pool halls are a much different environment then a typical bar with pool tables, and completely different than any other business. But commonly treated the same.

It's not just an entertainment hall, people can actually make money here!
$10 pool time can net $500 for someone! Is that $500 actually lost revenue to the pool hall? Nope. More than likely that customer will be back in trying to win his money back.

Obviously you have to keep the riff raft out (loitering kids, vagrants), but to actually kick pool players out of a pool hall because they don't spend "enough" money? BS

I don't drink alcohol, I don't eat junk food. There is nothing for me to buy in my pool hall besides pool time. That is their fault not mine. Call me a water sipping nit all you want but the fact is I get people to come in and play me wherever I play; and those people do drink and spend 10x the money I do.

So when I compliment a room owner on how nice it is to have a place to play, and get the reply, "Why don't you spend more money than?"; it only makes me a little bit more nitty with my compliments and money.

i got no problem with this. i'm not even a room owner and i get annoyed with all the nits that come in and do nothing but sit around, drink free water, and talk about what other people should do.

There's nothing wrong with supporting an establishment. hell imo coming in and not spending anything should get you thrown out. if you're paying table time you should be able to get a free cup of water. but we all know the guy that comes in and sits in the corner never buying anything and only drinks free water. then talks about how the room should add more money to the tournaments so that "they" (the aforementioned nit) would be interested enough to play

The free water tasted like sh t anyway. They didn't put a whole lot of effort into washing those plastic cups. Everyone thinks water is free but cleaning the cups aint free. I do feel sorry for those who cant afford to buy anything though.
