Chris,

Just riding ya a lil, hahaha.

I'll throw this out there for conversation; didn't Orcullo and Yang match up some 10 ball, a couple of times, for the title of "best money player in Asia"? I seem to remember watching a stream of a race to 50 (which Yang won convincingly), then a rematch, 10 ball, race to 60, which Yang won again.

I'll throw Yang in there as a candidate for "the best 10 ball player in the world". What say ye?

Eric

I can't say why, but Yang's dropped quite a bit in the world rankings this year - #104 now versus Orcullo's #1.

I haven't seen Yang play enough to have an opinion - but those Taiwan players haven't done too well over here.

Fatboys pockets would play WAY better then the other table. The angle is screwy on that green felted table and shots down the rail are going into the point too much. That is one of those tables that shots down the rail turn into a giant PITA. Glens pockets are tight but the angle he cut them at will make his table play WAY different then the other. That green felted table needs the pockets to be flared out more. The side by side pics show how it should be done (RKC), and how not to cut them (the other).

That pretty much sizes it up for me as well!

Public opinion has always and always will be a consideration by the odds makers prior to publishing a line on a sporting event, no different here. But how much of a consideration should be taken into account about public opinion prior to the line being posted for wagering? Plus there are other variables one must consider in regard to what exactly drives public opinion. For instance, past history, recent history, venue, country of origin, work ethics, mind set, financial status, conditions, experience, mental toughness, and many more considerations, not to mention who wants it more, and what's at stake?

I'm sure as we all mull over this upcoming event we THINK WE HAVE THE WINNER, but things don't always work out the way we think they should, at least not in my life time and that's to me what makes this match up all the more intriguing. But as we look over the list of variables to consider there are a few that really are more important than the others, too bad we don't really know which ones they are. Or do we?

See you in Las Vegas for what promises to be a very interesting and close match between arguably two of the greatest 10 ball players in the world today.

I also would like to thank TAR for choosing me to do the commentary along with my friend Jay Helfert, i'm sure it will be something special and one to remember.

Excellent post Billy. This match and you and Jay together too .... it just doesn't get any better.

Well, pickin' a winner makes it just a little bit better, and spends better than money earned

Actually, as I stated, the pockets on my buddy's table are very tight but they play properly. Meaning, if you shoot down the rail the ball will go in. It doesn't rattle around. My point was that I think SVB and Alex will overcome the tight pockets pretty quickly since the the Diamond they are playing on looks like it's set up extremely well and the pockets are cut right.

But hey, I'll pass the message along to Ernesto and Oscar and tell them they have no idea what they're doing.

cmbwsu = cheerleading many billiard world-wide streaming units!!

Oh, ok. But, if the cheerleading gets to be too "rah rah" for TAR -- especially while offering score updates during the actual match itself, we have to call it:

cmbwsu = carefully measured brownnosing with stream updates

:p
