Shanelle Loraine vs. Borana Andoni "Battle of the Billiard Beauties" @Sandcastle ,NJ

It was VERY close in my opinion. Borana came out in sort of a black widow type outfit to let everyone know she was serious.

Shanelle was wearing a classy little gold number that flowed which left a little more to the imagination but actually seemed to put her a little further out there.

I don't know if it was an illusion from Shanelle's dress but I thought she barely won this round of "Battle of the Billiard Bootys"

Assuming we rate women on the same scale as men, I'd think Borana is a B+ and Shanelle as a C+.

All thongs considered, I was impressed with Borana's shot selection, patterns and cue ball control. She thinks through a table very well. Yes, she comes up a bit at times.

It seems Shanelle has a nice stroke, but her CB control needs work. And.... IMO the way she goes down on a shot is peculiar. She is inconsistent in how she steps into a shot. Sometimes she scopes her shot with her head down and tends to not come up, step back, and step into it. Other times she does step in.

IMO, Borana could spot Shanelle the 7 out.

My hats off to both. Their enthusiasm and respect for the game was evident by their focus on every shot.

I think they both deserve more respect than most people are giving them. Which is one of the reasons I asked what they would rate in people's local area. Let's not forget the pressure they must have felt in this situation, their age and playing on a tight table.

They are both Great people!

Listen I have to tell you Playing under the conditions were very difficult!

Hot lights heating up the area not to mention making the table very fast.

Playing in front of all the people watching your every move.

TV camera's on booms moving all the time.

I played both of them after the match & let me tell you it was very hot!

I give them lots of credit for stepping up & playing under the conditions!

Putting looks aside, the pool was total crap.Watching Shanelle play was torture and even her opponent looked like she was thrown off by all the mistakes Shanelle was making.Unless Borana dropped dead from boredom, there's no way she could lose.

Shanelle has got the most adorable walk ever. I just felt so sorry for her. She is very brave to not have quit already.

......the Anna Kournokova of pool.If it wasn't for her looks, she'd be just another average pool player.

Yeah, average tennis player. #8 in the world in singles and #1 in doubles, with two grand slam titles. Average.....

A lot of people talk about their ability and rating level. Rating levels can be different from area to area.

If you saw the match, what did you think about Borana's and Shanelle's play and what their rating would be in your area ? I think the table they were on had tight pockets and it was a 9 footer.

You say 'it was a 9 footer' like that should factor into making the game harder for them. If Borana plays out of Amsterdam, she should be playing on 9 footers all the time. And since Shannelle is Charlie Williams' little project who plays in a number of international tournaments, she shouldn't be a stranger to a 9 footer either.

I'd say Borana played like a C+/B player. She was good. I'm sure playing under the lights, in front of a crowd, and playing DOWN to her opponent took a bit off her game. Shannelle looked like a D+ player at best.

This is an interesting comment too. Because it kind of illustrates that this little match had VERY little to do with pool and more to do with two pretty girls on camera. Kind of a shame because Borana has some ability. Shanelle... not so much.

Anna was great at doubles but never won a singles title,EVER.Her success at doubles was prevalent because she had a partner to pick up her slack.Being rated #8 at that time in womens tennis was nothing due to its on a point system and the there wasn't the talent then as there is today. If she couldn't win a singles title back then she'd be lucky to rank within the top 30 now.My point was,for Shanelle its all about looks and nothing about her game as was for Anna making more money off the courts than on them.Shanelle will never win a major championship as was for Anna but as long as they've got the looks the money will always be there.

They looked pretty good to me. Borana is a player though. Gonna have to say Shanelle is a few years away from being called a player.

I'm sure you will never be convinced, but......

If YOU are rated the #8 pool player in the world, YOU are just average? #30... still "average"? Puh-leeze.

Let's say Anna was overrated at #8, and should be #100. That is 100 out of the millions of tennis players in the world. Average?

My point is that analogy people so readily throw around about Kournikova is invalid. She had the skills, training and execution to be one of the top tennis players in the effin' world. There is no way that is "average".

BTW - do you think John McEnroe made more money on the court or off of it? How about Federer or Nadal? For that matter, how about Eldrick Woods. Hell, he got $40m from Nike before he ever won a pro tournament. To equal that much on the course, he had to win about 35 tournaments. And, that is just ONE of his endorsements.

Anna Kournikova of anything would be a compliment. These girls do not play pool as well as Anna played tennis. But they are on even footing when it comes to looks.

Anna gives them both these gals the 6 out and 3 on the wire in looks, talent, accomplishment, dedication, skills and achievement relative to their areas of endeavor.

Calling Anna's accomplishments "average' is reverse discrimination, downplaying her achievements because she was so good looking. Of course she achieved a level of notoriety due to her fabulous looks, everyone in the world likes to look at pretty things, that's why we call them "pretty" but I'd just have to see the list of world-class accomplishments from the person saying it before I could see Anna's 2 grand slam titles and top 10 ranking in the WORLD as "average".

I'd prob bet no one on azb could beat Anna in tennis if they played 5 sets or more. Conversely, I don't think anyone on azb would lose to Shanelle. Sorry, it is what it is.

Holy Smokes!!!! Anna Kournikova was the World Junior's Singles Champion and was ranked the #1 Female Doubles Player in the World. #1 mean she was picking up the slack, not vice versa.

And yes, she had great partners. But, how does climbing to the #1 ranking in the world get so diminished?

The biggest reason she didn't win a WTA singles title was her looks. They took away from her training. She had the game to win many singles titles, but she grew up (in more way than one) against some serious talent and her modeling career took much of her time. In it all, she still climbed to #1 in Doubles.

I play a LOT more tennis than pool, I might be about even with the current Anna in doubles, and I'm about even with Shanelle in pool.

However, I'm about even with Nick Varner in looks. :(

I brought up the 9 foot size of the table as a reference.

I asked people to rate them based on ratings in their home area. Some people strictly play on smaller tables.

A person rated a C on a 7 foot table, might not be a C on a 9 footer.
