Open Offer to Danny Harriman and John Schmidt from TAR

Beating a Dead Horse

I really started to feel like maybe I should not have called Danny a "turd", but then I refreshed my memory. All of these are just page one of his most recent posts. I have seen Danny contribute well-thought and positive commentary on both pool and players in the past, but it appears something has seriously derailed him at times recently. If you searched everyone's history you could certainly find issues, and I did not originally wish to point the finger so directly. After review of his recent posts, I thought it might be of value to bring these issues to light. Hopefully someone who knows Danny personally can discuss with him the sudden hate for pool fans and players. It seems Danny has something personal going on that might be best to avoid posting until resolved.

I was in the wrong to belittle the Canadian 9 ball tour and for that I apolagize
He apologized, but the fact that he had said something that required it about a tour which he had no first hand knowledge of is very unprofessional.

Asiasdad will probably keep guessing, I would say he is one of the haters. They allways try and deviate from the subject, it's probably associated with a lack of talent from his end. It might help you (asiasdad) to take a bath in citronella oil, I heard that is a natural cure for ticks and or bloodsuckers. Just a thought.
For the record here is the post from asiasdad that set Danny off. Looks like to me that asiasdad was giving Danny credit for being a good player in a light-hearted way and Danny misunderstood and went off.
My guess would be unable to enter Canada due to felony convictions
in America for robbing people on gold crowns and diamonds

Here he is talking about John Schmidt and we know they have bad blood, but still being petty. The worst part is that he keeps going off about a “podcast” by John Schmidt that was really just Justin responding to a suggestion on the chat during a TAR podcast. Then Danny took what was meant by all to say how great it would be to see the two of them match up as John woofing at him when John had nothing to do with it – and no one said he did.
Apology 1/2 excepted John, please note that I still think that for Mr.400 to play in a tough match up he will need to play some one who has a bad rep in order for him to look like the good guy. As far as John playing an all around TAR match up against a player such as Alex or Nevel he will respectfully decline cause he knows it's not stealing. He reminds me alot of Mayweather junior, (never bet on the fighter who takes the fight on short notice cause there is usually a reason.) But when ever there is a chance he might lose he will duck and dance with the best of them it's all about keeping a winners image rather than challenging the unknown….
That is because I recently learned of your podcast, I would show the link but don't know how. Will you come out of your protective castle, or is this just another ploy to show how many more inbred's you have on your side?
Thanks for stirring the pot Gary, but please do not give me any advice about how or what should do the talking as you do not know me nor does any one else on this forum as well as they think. I know John has a group of bullet headed friends who want to see him beat the TAR out of me who come on here and pretend to howl. I have not seen the podcast - but I'm sure it is John contradicting himself about how he might play again. ... they are all apart of John's little inbred human errored wolfpack. They are almost afraid of their hero losing as much as John is himself - it is cause their afraid to be wrong. John was probably bluffing in your podcast Gary, he just wants to rattle my cage a little in order to save face. ...

I won't get into a debate of morality about who is good and who is not. I really don't care what you think, easy e or Eric is - well as you said lets just screech the brakes right there. I will not get pulled into your popularity contest, where you can phone your friends ie (human errored wolf pack inbreds) and gang up on this evil pro.
Sean, I know where I stand with most of the geek squad here on AZ and it does not bother me at all. Easy E likes to chime in and I would like him to say some of the things he has said to me in a PM to my face man to man. I do not care how big he is either, I have taken a beating before. He is also very offended when I talk about big brother hmm.

Thanks for the lessons Bungelow Bill. GO kill another bamby it is real difficult to squeez a trigger on an animal that can't shoot back.

Wow! That must have taken a long time to do. You do have strong feelings about this, don't you?! :p

It is actually just caring about pool and people in general. Danny's been a good guy on here in the past. Just wondering what happened. And it actually took about two minutes, because it didn't take much research since nearly every recent post of his has been negative and inflamatory.

Well, while we're throwing Dannyisms in the thread, I remember when Danny Harriman was competing in the 7-Ball Challenge at the ESPN Zone in Chicago, which was televised. He made 6 balls on the break on TV. It was incredible!

u tell me im heartless etc but i know one thing i got enough heart to give u a chance to win against me on film but i dont think u have enough ticker to do the same.
if u r scared say so danny and i wont bother u anymore, ill send u a autographed copy of one of my instructional dvds lol.
if u r not scared then quit running your mouth at me thru private messages and get your cue.
if u dont play im going to have to continue to refer to u as the springfield bb gun instead of the springfield rifle that u r known for.
im ready ,tars ready, the fans r ready, now quit crying and u get ready.
Buhahaha.....be a feat just to be in the same phone booth with Rosie....u tried buddy...but i think u cured him from really wanting to play you again...He'd rather just talk about it then to take the chance that you would do it again...last time he blamed one lil comment u made that made him lose...if u was to do it twice in a row he wouldnt be able to hold on to that weak @ss excuse anymore...Props to you for trying !

Unfortunately, no, I don't think it took iba7467 that long at all to come up with that list. In fact, you'll see my name mentioned in one of them, which came from the 14.1 forum.

In that one, I merely stood up for a friend who Danny was verbally bashing, when he hadn't even met the guy (not that I'm aware of, anyway, because the stuff Danny was saying was so far off-base that it makes the reader believe that Danny was lobbing stones over a fence he couldn't even see his "foe" over). After that, I became the target of Danny's negativity, and even still -- months later -- I'm still receiving vitriol-laced PMs from him.

If you click the little swirlie arrow icon just to the right of the "Originally Posted by Danny Harriman" header in those quoted posts, you'll be taken to that post, in its original context in the thread where it lives. This way, you'll get an idea of what some of us are talking about.

I wish for nothing more than for Danny to heal; to get past this nonsense and to experience some positivity (if that's a word?).

The stone the builders rejected has become a cornerstone. ;)

The problem is that the stone, in this case, still hasn't cooled off. The builders are waiting for the stone to cool off, so that it *can* use it as a cornerstone, but the stone refuses to.

Maybe Danny is just quitting the world of money pool.

Nobody could blame him for that. When I think of the hours it takes to get in stroke and compete in even regional tournaments, just to win back your entry fee, it's not exactly a wise investment of time.

However, if I wanted to be in the spotlight and make a few bucks, and if I was that good, TAR would be the ticket. And it's not just one ticket. As Shane has proven, TAR is a profitable venture for a star player who TAR wants to keep around.

Danny has to think about a lot of things. If pool is in the future for him, it would be a shame to waste this golden opportunity. It's not just $1000 or $5000 it could be a lot of money in future matches if he wins.

Right now, all this commentary is probably making Danny a big dog in this match. I honestly don't recall, but didn't he win the last one?

Another curious thing that has to be considered and I don't think it has been mentioned, is the fact that NEITHER John or Danny have been cashing in any recent tournaments, nor have I heard of them playing any big matches.

There's a lot of uncertainty about the level of play that we would see. I've seen both guys play about as good as anyone can play but they just haven't been in action as far as I know.

The bottom line though is that while the negative comments may make Danny a big dog in this match it could propel him to bear down with a vengeance to prove those people wrong.

Anyway, I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping that this match of EPIC PROPORTIONS will still come to pass.

Life is an uncertainty. Click on this link to see just how uncertain it can be....

OMG, JoeyA. You are so right!

I must not be giving it out because I have to spread it around before I can give it to you again.

This thread has really taken off. You miss a day and BAM! 17 pages. I knew Danny wouldn't play. As they say, next!

I don't get it. How is it to Danny's advantage not to play? It just can't be that he's scared, I mean he doesn't have a job right? He's got to be willing to step into the box.

Last I heard, Danny was working. That was about a year ago, though, and it was secondhand information, albeit from someone who knows him personally.

Like everyone else here, I would love to see them play. That said, and assuming Danny is working, I could understand why he would turn down the offer... aside from the bad blood and stuff, I mean. I'm sure that he would want to get himself in dead punch before a match like this - who wouldn't. If he figures that would require taking a month or more off of work (after which, is the job even available anymore?) and relocating (not sure exactly why, but that's none of my business), then it's simple math to see that a potential minimum payday of only $1k just wouldn't cut it.

And yes, I fully understand why a $3500 (or whatever he asked for) appearance fee is out of the question. The fact that there is ANY guaranteed money in the deal is just evidence of TAR going above and beyond to try to make this epic match happen. With that said, however, we would essentially be asking Danny to come out of retirement (again, assuming he is working and not playing any pool) - to take the necessary time to get his game up to world class level again - and to put his job, family, and everything else on hold long enough to do it.

I'm not suggesting that the above is Danny's thought process, but if I had basically hung up my cues and decided to do something different, it would be my thought process, and I wouldn't come out of retirement for this match.

Now, on the other hand, if I had a backer and I knew we could get another $20k-$30k down in the middle or from the rail, I'd go for my flipping coin so fast I'd get carpet burn from my pants pocket.
