Stolen Cues Alert - reward for return

Stolen Cues Alert - reward for return

The last time I saw a discussion here about someone returning stolen cues that had come into his possession to the owner (Cornerstone) for a reward the person returning them was set up and charged with a couple of felonies.

Returner, Beware!

Typical Italian A S S H O L E

He got a break, you don't, rude post. Feel good about yourself.

Back to topic,

were there surveillance cameras in the room? If so, get a still pic, post here, and wait for AZ to work its magic. That sucks, good luck.

I know simon personally, and for some lowlife slimeball from italy to say he deserved it is a insensitive scumbag. Out of all the things to say, that's what u post?............ why is italy shaped like a boot? To much sh*t to put in a sneaker

It was meant to be rude.I don't need a break!

That's a great quote. Strickland had just deleted Steve Davis in the 2003 9-ball world championships. It's the match he told the ref (Michaela Tab) to shut up. He was upset with the rowdy English crowd and felt she should have done more to quiet them. In the post game interview referring to his goodness as a person and dedication to the game he said he feels he's a remarkable person.

Great match. The whole thing is on YouTube.

Hi Jeff, dont think he deleted Steve, I've seen him since:D

This thread has so many terrible posts I can't quote them all. If some people here are the typical guys in your room, I would be scared if my cues were not in eyesight at all times.

Sorry to hear about the stolen cues. No one "deserves" to have anything stolen, but I have been around enough pool players to leave my stuff with someone if I am walking away for a minute. You should not have to worry about losing your stuff, but sadly it is a reality that we have to deal with.

Hope that Simon is able to get his cues back without harm. Good luck in your search.

I think we all are horrified at the loss. Some of those cues are irreplaceable. All are extremely collectable and valuable.

I think we all can agree that the victim could have taken greater care.

Please remember that slh is a brother whose primary language is not English. I think he deserves a little slack for poorly chosen words...not that we can't make fun of him for it.;)

thanks mate. Often using a wrong term can change the perspective of a post.
I'm avoiding to comment the racist comments because there is no need to, they are just sad.
Tough break mang :frown:

Personally I take my cue to the bathroom. Too many stories liek this make me a little paranoid!!!
you are just smart.
Well, it is a good thing you cleared that up. I thought by you stating "he deserved it.", you meant that he deserved it. It sure is easy to misunderstand people on here.

Kelly

I mean he was asking for it. Is it different than "he deserved it"?

in an ideal world violence, thief, etc shouldn't exist but this is the reality. I know there are thiefs so I take care of my belongings. If I leave my phone on a table and I go to the bathroom, if I don't find it when I'm back, I blame the thief and myself.

thanks guys...really appreciate the comments and helps to look out for these cues. Hopefully, the person who took is smart enough to do the right thing. Police will be checking the cameras from PC richardson....so I think we'll find out who walk out of the room with the cues.

Here's the room location for those that asked:

3525 Steinway St.
Astoria, NY 11102

"Manny runs one of the best pool room in Queens!!" Earl Strickland and Jeremy Jones are currently playing at Steinway and will be playing in this week super tournaments.

Slh...Yes. Saying he was "asking for it", and "he deserved it" are two totally different statements, meaning two different things. If the person who lost the cues did leave them unattended, he possibly was "asking for trouble". That said, nobody "deserves" to have their property stolen.

Which brings up the question

Do you take your cue with you when you go to the bathroom? I don't normally, but recently theire was a cue stolen out of my regular Pool room.

If im in a strange hall or a known shady hall then yes I bring my player to the bathroom with me. If I have a reliable friend watching my cues and Im comfortable then I don't. You kinda have to have a 6th sense to dangers liek this. The human body energy is an amazing thing. We all know when something isnt right or just off. Then again sometimes that gut feeling just doesnt come. You just have to KNOW if that makes any sense at all

This post may be the most disturbing of all. You're actually warning off anyone who may help facilitate the return of the case and cues...seriously?!

As I recall...there was quite a bit more to the story than you are telling. Yes, there was a reward offered...but there was also a bit of 'strong-arming', where the reward amount was not sufficient to person who was claiming to facilitate the cues return, and they demanded more. Yeah...I would have had them arrested as well.

those are some awesome cues, the guy who had them stolen im sure feels horrible about leaving them unattended. The need for some people to remind him of what he already knows is....well...classic internet forum conduct i guess.

So many people have made mistakes in how they protect their stuff, only the unlucky few get heavily punished for it. really sucks, i hope he makes a recovery on something.

Sad

I wish he had just not chosen to drag so many nice ones out at one time. Hopefully he can gain something from this mess. Sickening.

I do agree with some that stated there is a price to pay for not keeping those cues close by. Who knows...maybe someone was supposed to watch them for him.

I hope they get caught fast!

Thats why I have a GPS tracker & 50 foot alarm with my name on my case.

If I catch somebody with my case.
They can't say they thought it was their's.
So I won't feel bad when they have a house cue sticking out of their body somewhere.

I think maybe we should setup a thief sometime just to have some fun.

I'll supply the alarm Just to catch the crook that (DESERVES) it.

What a shame

It's a shame that you have to even think about taking your cue's with you to dirty bathroom.

Would you be so kind as to provide a little info on your tracking device and alarm...sounds interesting

True, but to me, it's kind of like locking and alarming my car.
Just makes sense sometimes. I usually play with somebody I can
trust to watch the cues & cases...we alternate bathroom breaks.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest this thief!
