Lately, I find myself talking to myself while at the table executing a runout (or in my case ATTEMPTING to execute one
). I'm talking in a full voice but a rather muted one, but out loud nonetheless. I guess that unless you were standing fairly close, you wouldn't be able to understand what I was saying. I'm talking myself through the pattern, assuring myself of where I want the cueball to go and how to get it there. Sometimes after a real nice shot, I tell myself to calm down, or when I get to rolling too fast, I tell myself to slow down. I find that I can obey my thought processes better if I communicate with myself orally. Basically, I'm just thinking out loud.
Would you consider this rude/unsportmanlike behavior? Could this be considered cockiness by others? I haven't had anyone say anything about it yet but I was just wondering if any of ya'll ever do it and what kind of results you have with it, or if anyone has ever said anything negative to you about it.
Comments???
Maniac (never been accused of being too quiet:smile
