SVB getting upset

I love it when a guy gets mad.

Let's face it this guy you guys are talking about is human. Let him get mad, it brings in viewers.

Perhaps he was pretending and getting mad to sell tickets for his next match.

I hope he acts up more...pool needs this kind of stuff.

Everyone wants to be a good guy...we need some bad guys and I am glad he's trying to be that person.

Shane was noticably upset at the US Open 10-ball after being beaten easily by Busty, banging balls around the TV table once the match was over. At Derby City, Busty beat him in 10-ball quite easily.

If he's a bit wound up, that's OK. He has high standards for himself and probably can't wait for another shot at Busty. After falling to Archer at the US Open 10-ball, there's little danger that Shane will have his guard down. For this reason, I think he'll find his top form against Archer, and I don't expect this TAR match to make it to the third race.

Shane has generally carried himself with total professionalism. For that reason, he gets a free pass here.

It is easy to carry yourself well when you are winning....less so when you are losing. Perhaps we just see him winning so often that we assume he is always like that; he may not be as mature as many here think. Just a thought.

I just watched the whole match, and honestly, I wouldn't even remotely compare him to any of these guys.

Yes, he was obviously mad at himself, and yes he whacked his cue a few times, but at no time was he ever disrespectful to Johnny or with the crowd.

Both guys were class acts and it was an awesome match!

Totally agree with you. There's a big difference between
showing emotion and disrespecting your opponent as well as the game.

Pool needs this kind of stuff?I guess thats why sponsors are flooding through the poolhalls.

Well I got to say I am a little amazed that this has even been brought up at all. Shane got a little mad at himself thats it. I really don't think that he did anythingt that was really worthy of comment.

Shane was not happy and Johnny knew this. So Johnny was continuously needling him the entire evening. Johnny came off to me as very sarcastic with some of the things he was saying. Example, Shane is the best, or once he said Shane come shoot this one for me, or Shane would fire this one in at warp speed...etc etc. JA got under SVB's skin. And it was exacerbated by Shane's poor play. JA was relentless with the light sharking between games. and JA was talking at the table while he was shooting.

It was interesting to watch.

Tonight will be even more interesting.

I guess I'm the antagonist of the group. I totally love watching a guy mentally lose it and smash his cue around. I find it insanely entertaining.

Watching someone in the midst of battle who starts to mentally unwind is just an awesome sight. It's a kind of drama you can't get from any reality show, that's for sure.

Anyone who doesn't play super well and DOESN'T get emotional to some point has no killer instinct. Hate and anger tend to pump someone up.

My favorite all-time quote came from the Emperor in Star Wars, "Hate makes you focus." Yes sir, no doubt.

I just wish people would stop "ooohing and awing" when someone loses their marbles a little bit. It happens in EVERY SINGLE SPORT...EVERY ONE. Hell, in hockey players physically beat the hell out of each other during disagreements. Basketball players elbow their opponents noses through their skull. Football teams have bounties to reward players for physically hurting their opponents. Baseball players storm the mound and have on-field riots.....and the best is....watching two cyclists dismount and beat each other with their scrawny little arms.

Gimme a break people---- nothing to see here other than flying tempers. Big deal.

Super angry, kinda like Earl-ish.
He was down 19-13 at one point and now its tied. He was playing angry for about 3 hours. Hes calmed now a bit.
What, not enough drama in your life so you need to try and create some?

Shane was frustrated at his own play, on an "Earl scale" of 1 to 10 Shane's behavior was less than 1.

At least if you saw the same match I watched.

talking about bad behaviour I lost a little respect for Santos after watching this match.

I don't think Santos showed sportmanship on this match with all the kisses blown to Scott, leaving his cue on the table while was Scott's turn to distract him,etc..

Santos has always been a lamb killer. I havn't liked him ever since he hustled me out of $300 back in 1992. I say he's a lamb killer. And he's also the nittiest of the good pinoys. Who has he gambled with and won a big score? NO ONE.

JA reminds me of a southern politician...chatty and nice, but all the while working an angle. Not a bad thing, but if you haven't been around many good ole boys it can be frustrating.

Shane is just human and upset with mostly himself and not his opponent (im only assuming this since im not watching) play. You are allowed to get upset and show it a little but it has to be within reason and not being an all out jerk or crybaby.

Personally I like to see players show some emotion. Then you get to feel their energy while they are playing. Everybody knows it or feels it when any of these guys are struggling and then catch a gear. They make one killer stroke shot and then their off!!! You see their opponent feel it too... Missing shots or bad position.. Its what makes the game a great game to watch. Funny but even people that don't play or follow pool could sense a change in dominance or control in a match. That alone (people reading matches) gives hope to the growth of this game

I agree with you 100%. Im not being very clear in what Im trying to say. I started this thread because I assumed everyone else would have been up in arms like when other drama occurs. Emotions are a part of pool and I think its totally acceptable. There were a few people in chat saying they wouldn't watch another stream with SVB if he behaves this way again blah blah blah......
It was a good 3hrs out of the match that SVB was banging balls, cues, and rakes around with very angry body language. It was a very large part of the commentary.
Its not just Earl, or Dechaine, or Hatch, or Harriman, or Hennesy, or Mika, it seems to affect almost all of them. We all thought that with SVB and Archer there wouldnt be anything that would go sour sour. This thread is in lieu of other threads when people complain about "bad" pool behavior. Im happy it didnt bother anyone. Phew!!!

We finally got to see the inner self that drove him to the top of the world. Where's he been hiding?:D

Go Shane!!!

I know right!! Could you imagine if Shane farted really loud?? This board would be debating if it was a shark move :lol::lol:
