Just took this in for a repair.
Those aren't tape on that ferrule.
Those are dried glue.

I've seen something similar.
Definitely adds a little repair time to the ferrule replacement.
It took me quite a while to slowly take it down with a cutter, until I could sand it to a smooth wood surface.
Since I'm a rookie with limited tools and knowledge, I didn't want to mess with the tenon, but I wanted all of the glue and crud off.

I'm going to exercise my rights under the 5th amendment.
I will only answer to a Grand Jury, and only if they threaten to indict me for conspiracy to commit crimes against shaftwood.

You are subject to water boarding with "Hanks" water!

So it was glued AND splined on?

I had a tip replacement come in last week on a Chinese cue with the typical cheesy plastic.

While I was cutting the tip down, the entire ferrule spun loose.

It was splined on,and obviously had NO glue, because the tenon was covered with blue chalk.

I turned the tenon down a tad, threaded it,and replaced the ferrule with a pre-fab Porper.

He's pleased with it,esp since I only charged him an additional 10 bucks plus the tip. Tommy D.

It is probably the secret sight to his new aiming system.

It's not too much glue, it is not enough cleaning.
I bet Ryan could not do that, even if he wanted to try.

No Ted-more like this.

Looks like a buzzkill, lets stick to pool.
I think I've got it on how to get to your place in the morning.

Back the truck up and go left
Left again, then right, left onto the highway, right, right again, left and then right.
Now I'm on Youngfield...:happydance:
Right, and left until the third apartment.
I've got it...
