The long-standing Figueroa/Spiderweb/Champ/Patrick aiming feud has got to stop!!!

OK, having been drawn into researching this stupid feud, I couldn't tell anyone which side started things or which side is the farthest in the wrong.

All I can tell you is that is has to stop.

I have a great deal of respect for all three parties and have had numerous conversations via email and real life with some of the parties involved. But I will not hesitate to ban users who continue to attack other users and hijack threads.

If it makes you all feel better, you all won. Anyone who uses an aiming system is obviously never going to make a ball. And anyone who doesn't use an aiming system is obviously never going to make a ball. Cut and paste whichever sentence you want to show that you won.

Now, the next one of these three users who hijacks a thread from one of the others, or attacks (by my definition) one of the other users is going to go on a very long holiday from the forums.

You can "ha ha ha" or "jk" all you want. You will still get banned.

It has gone on FAR ENOUGH and the whole feud is unbelievably childish. I don't have to step in like this with my 11 and 14 year old, but apparently I have to do so here.

I can see what you're trying to do, but there are many "feuders" on here that are imo, a lot more a nuisance to peoples threads than the ones you mention.

I hope you eventually realize who they are and give them a fair warning too!!!

I am well aware of others who are causing problems here and this message is intended to be for them too.

Champ, Patrick. I am including both of you in this warning.

As I have said before, the last thing that I want to do is ban anyone from the forums. But if the situation warrants it, then I will be forced to do so.

The biggest thing that detracts from decent communication around here is for people to jump in and snipe at someone just because they don't like them.

There are users who have come and gone from this forum that I personally couldn't stand. So I left them alone.

There are also users who I consider friends in the industry that have had be to sent away on vacation due to getting out of control.

Wow things must have gotten worse. Aiming systems are certainly a topic I am interested in (I've been currently working on my own way to aim banks).

Instead of getting in the back and forth I decided to read the opinions, learn the stuff and decide on my own. After that I gave my review and made my exodus from all discussions about it.
 
I obviously missed whatever caused this pronouncement....I thought things had been rather quiet on that particular front lately.

dunno why this was brought up today? i don't even post much lately and haven't played pool in a couple months either. They took JoeyA off the title now and added me and PJ lol

I fully agree the aiming wars are more than a little silly. Some are genuine anger and some are just jabs to get a rise out of someone else. I don't know how far back you have read, this seems to have gone on for at least a year or two. I will suggest that things seem much uglier when you sit down and research the whole ball of wax at once instead of seeing a thread here and there over the course of the time it has occurred in.

The plant I worked at years ago had a habit of being happy with someone's work until they were a year or two away from retirement. Then they compiled every flaw the employee had ever had and declared his employment to be unsatisfactory. One man that I didn't like and considered pretty worthless myself pleased them for twenty-three years, got excellent performance reviews, then less than two years before retirement they decided his performance was unsatisfactory and he was sent down the road without a dime although his performance hadn't changed in the least.

I realize that the above isn't quite an apples to apples comparison but it isn't too far off. There are a lot of posters on this forum whose flaws could all be put in one pile and they wouldn't come out looking like a shining star. I wouldn't place myself at the top of that list but I'm a long long ways from the bottom!

The core of quality posters on this board seems to be dimenishing a little over the years I have been here. Hopefully you can end this silliness which really amounts more to bickering than a feud without costing the forum the input of any of the posters involved. All involved that I know have added a lot of value to the forums over the years.

I get tired of posters

that hijack threads, and turn it into a different discussion. You should stick to the original poster's title and post.

And I especially hate it when a thread turns political, hate it ...
 
whatever...i will now become a lurker and not contribute to this site, no longer worth the hassle.

The responses thus far tell the whole story.... Three of the kids mentioned deserve a very long vacation. The fourth is a good, solid insect.

All funnin' aside, while I understand Mike's frustration at the continued rancor caused by the aiming topic, I'm not so sure all of the "suspects" mentioned in the title of this thread are truly guilty -- as of recently, anyway.

To be honest, I haven't recently seen the tit-for-tat that would be considered "traditional fare" on these boards. In fact, if I may use just one example, I don't think Lou even visits the Aiming forum *at all*. I don't think Dave (SpiderWebComm) and Lou have even exchanged any words at all, because (methinks) there's an Ignore list in place or some such. And everything I've seen from Patrick over in the Aiming subforum has been respectful and intended to be thought-provoking and educational. I can't speak for Champ, because, again, there's an Ignore list in place. But I haven't seen anyone quoting anything from him that would be considered in-line with past behaviors.

That's not to say something didn't happen, because I'm not here as often as I used to be.
