Can years of experience and knowledge overcome an active younger player? That was the question I put to a number of friends. It seemed that the answers were mixed. Obviously depending on the length of the race and the game were all factors. So I got to thinking about something I have wanted to do for a while and in the process of putting together a very interesting Challenge match between Nick Varner and Scott Frost. As some of you know the last couple of Challenges I have put together have been an assortment of different games and this is no different. Both Nick and Scott are on board to play this match, race to 10 1 pocket (may end up being more) race to 15 8-Ball and a race to 200 straight pool.
The scoring will be what I originally wanted with the Bad Blood event where each game won is equal to one point for the 1 pocket and the 8-Ball and then the final game will be the 14.1 and each 10 points will equal one point.
So what do you think? can Nicks years of know how and experience get the edge on a younger active player that also has tons of experience and highly regarded as a one pocket player. The races are not super long but long enough and the games are ones that take more that just being able to make balls.
Oh, looking at having some $$ in the middle of course and like the TAR matches making sure that the winner gets the largest chunk of the $$ and the loser getting an appearance fee. Love to know your thoughgts on this.
