Chinese decal cues.
Most people who buy them think they are beautiful.

Southwest in my opinion, was not impressed with the ones I have hit with.
It's about flaunting your wealth then?
All gear, no idea.
Really enjoying this thread. Id love to try a Varney, seems like he makes the best hitting cue for the money.
I think if you want an "expensive cue" to play with or just collect—the difference in quality and construction of said cue
is where you would rate one cue over the other.
IE: Cue A is priced at $2000 and ( for argument sake ) the points are more accurate or has more exotic inlays than
Cue B and Cue B is priced at $2800...making Cue A "better quality" cue and Cue B over rated.
ALL cues are over rated OR under rated depending on who is holding them at the time. What I enjoy, you may not and vice versa. This is one of those threads where there probably is no right or wrong answer but it is interesting to see different opinions.
The cue everybody wants but doesn't know why.
#1:
I'm going to paint my cue matt black so nobody will know who made it or what it costs. Then none of that noise will matter. I only care about one thing-thats how good it plays.
#2:
Other cues are great if you pay $10,000 and sell it for $12,000 then its a $2000 cue. Thats how I see it.
#3:
I do have cues that I dont think about the $$$, its the history or art that i care about.
Why is everyone sweating the $$$ so hard?? enjoy the wood, be glad your alive and didnt have a heart attack last week. This thread is so negitative, look at the bright side, at least you have a choice in cues.[/QUOTE]
eric i agree
everyone should stop and smell the roses
i think to a degree and i could be wrong people who cant afford higher priced cues will of course defend their cue and say you pay extra for a
name
a kia and a mercedes both get you to work
and it takes a certain price point for the quality of the materials and the reasonable cost for the atrisans time to be in the upper levels of quality
the price you pay for a name is the reputation and reliablilty they have EARNED over many years of production
the confidence in buying one of those cues to be well made with no shortcuts is the premium in price you pay
does the emperer wear no clothes ??
thats the gist of this thread
when does the markup exceed the quality???
thats the question
jmho icbw
sorry for the ramble its getting to be past my bed time![]()

Good post. I agree. Essentially, there's no such thing as an overrated cue. It's all a matter of opinion and supply/demand. You may think South West is overrated, but a 10 year waiting list says not. You may think a Tasc, a Searing or a Black Boar is overrated, but what they bring on the market says not.
It's all about what you like and what you're willing to pay for.
