Trent must of let all of the red flags fly prior to his good bye cruel world post at 9:07 am.
"good bye i wont be logging in again to post here">>>Trent Cowgill
If any red flagging occurred after 9:07, than Trent has some explaining to do.

Seriously, nobody has ever posted "good bye i wont be logging in again to post here", and actually kept their word.
It's never happened, so I will be the first.
Good bye cruel world, I will not be logging in again to post here.

lol. Its ok I got pretty nice wood and it don't rattle. So I'm ok at the end of the day. lol

That is a very nice piece of wood.
Was it stabilized?
What would you have to do to put a little rattle in it?
I'm anxious to try one, but now that we're on the subject , is there a difference between a rattle and a buzz.
If it is just a buzz, I don't think I want one, but the rattle interests me.

Trent do you think a judge would rule in your favor!
Just make this right ..............................................
You cannot make it much worse . Fix this and move on your reputation is getting destroyed.
Your actions are 100% in the wrong .
Who gives a crap if the cue has a rattle it can be fixed.......
This wood means somthing to meridianblades it is (his dream )cue
not yours,.You dont have the right to take away his dreams.
Dont be the one that does that it is way to average.
Hang your head low and do the right thing. It takes real man to except that he is wrong..

MMike

I've read this through, wasn't easy. If I'm reading it correctly:-

Party A has - the money, the timber and the cue.

Party B has - nothing.

Irrespective of the facts, Party B has not done well on the deal.

I'm afraid I can't offer this cue with either a rattle or a buzz. Maybe a good solid ping . And the only stabilizing was the years it sat in my shop after the kiln. I'm pretty fond of this cue. Built it for a customer who couldn't come up with the money. There is no doctoring of that ebony at all. It really is that black. And its not cored so you have that heavy solid hit of the ebony forarm.

everyone happy now?????????????????????

poof cue goes out he will be unhappy regardless.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So if today is the 3rd, then we're up to 10 days since it was supposed to be sent?

Trent Cowgill thief!

Trent Cowgill thief! Has a nice BUZZ to it does'nt it?
So, you could easily just send the guy his cue along with a simple apology and make this all go away....Simple right? But instead you start a public thread saying your going to cut it up and blame your customer for it. Then when the guy finally complains you blame him again.
Lets see, what do i do here? Spend 13.00 and send off the cue with a i'm sorry, or be hounded by hundreds of people, be called a thief by everybody on the planet, taken to court, be publicly humiliated for years to come, ruin any chance of making a living at making cues or maybe even finding a real job in the future and not being able to go to a pool room with out people calling you a thief and a cheat....
Hey Trent! How are you going to like it when anybody in the future including anybody who might try to hire you for a real job Googles the name Trent Cowgill and the search comes back Trent Cowgill Thief!

So be smart, ship the guy his cue, say you are sorry and get on with your life, its that simple.... Otherwise this might not ever go away for you...

The only thing im sorry for is using his wood for a cue, thats it.

Lesson learned ill never use anyone elses wood except mine for a cue.

you people all talk bad about me, slam me do as you wish.

this all started with me making the other thread in spite of larry since he said he would air this, so for whatever reason i wanted to beat him to it.

The only reason this cue was not shipped last week is because i wanted a email from larry, I was being stubborn but i figure all the threads listing the issues that could arise with this cue is enough proof.

the cue has been shipped priority mail.

Note: it was not sold out from under larry never was Never would have been.

I so admittedly wanted to disassemble the cue to see what it really was be glue or a construction fubar. Its been posted that other use this type of wood and it glues fine but there are all kinds of diffrent glues used maybe mine didnt work? maybe the glue was old? (i replaced all glue already) maybe as another que maker mentioned in PM the wood could have cracked somewhere on the inside since the wood becomes brittle, I really don't know.

I wanted to make this right from the beginning under the precedence that the cue not leave the shop. just as Russel cues and others mentioned thats like a cardnal sin for building a cue. all for the sake of a REP. well i have none online now and i think maybe thats a good thing as ive never came across well online anyways.

Well Sir your cue is in the mail.

and I really will try to make this my last post on here.

Trent,

If there is one lesson from this episode - when it comes to business, use your brain and not your heart.

So you messed up a cue. Big deal. But you handled the public relations part just as bad as could be.

Despite the drama, in the end, you did the right thing and shipped it. That means something and if you handle the PR properly from here, it may yet be the one thing people most remember.

The fact that Trent made some mistakes building the cue is OK, it happens all the time on any project, people make mistakes.
The fact that he has zero conflict resolution skills, that's OK too, not unusual, I can handle that as well.
The problem with Trent is that he is a bully.
Personally I thought his last ordeal, and his offer to make it right, was worse that this one.
I hate to admit it, but Trent's offer to the last guy to just send out the cue in pieces, for another cuemaker to complete, bothered me more than his threat to chop this one up out of spite.

Question:

Was it wrong for a guy to tell another guy to ass ram a cue, after he built the cue himself.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the guy ram his own playing cue up his ass?
Personally, I don't think that I would want a cue that I built rammed up someone's ass, unless it was my own ass...just sayin

Since I'm the guy whose ass is in question, for the record I prefer no cue rammed up there- his, mine or otherwise. Then again I could stop my search for a new case.

Cue makers

Here is what I have learned in my time on this forum.

If you are a cue maker and your name is Gina, Prewitt , Schick , Searing, Showman, or any other top tier maker then it seems delinquency is accepted. We all also know that if they found a noise in one of their cues prior to it being shipped than the customer would never see that cue ever; it would become fire wood. can't fault this guy for having standards! The other B.S. well that wasn't cool either.

I also know that if the customer ordered a Koa cue then he would get,a Koa cue may take longer but the cue would have been Koa, like he wanted.

Just my .02 cents from half way around the world.

Almost but not quite. The customer supplied the piece of wood himself and the two had an agreement ahead of time that if there was a problem the cue/wood would be returned regardless of problems with the cue. It seems the customer had the foresight to address this issue ahead of time to avoid a mess like this. The problem of course is the cue maker decided not to honor that agreement. The only reason I have been interested in this and offer my unsolicited opinion is there was never any need for these shinanigans to occur other than a lack of total decency from ONE party.
Over and out.

AAAAHHHH............so now the wood was brittle ??? WOW....

OK well here's some of the same type of Koa that was sent to Trent to make my cue. It was professionally stabilized by the same company that did the cue wood. These have been in my kitchen for a couple years and are dunked in hot soapy water (blades and WOOD HANDLES) at least twice a day.... Blades (Santuko and Chef) were made by a good friend of mine, Mike Stewart, owner of Bark River Knives in Escanaba, Michigan.

He produces about a 100 blades a day....gosh I wonder how he does it with all that "brittle wood, that's oily and sappy, and won't glue up" ????

Trent where are the pictures of you boxing up the cue and the shafts ??

Must be all that hot water keeping the wood soft:grin::grin:

Now that is funny...... Yeah that brittle wood has to be "watered" once in awhile. Altho can oily, sappy wood be brittle ??........Hmmmm...

Think they have this book @ the local library in Etna ???
