How many of you pool players have played Virtual Pool in the past. The last version of VP3DL has proved to be a very realistic Simulator. i have setup on the trick shot mode and tested Grady Mathews kicking systems from his Accustats video "Only Kicks" and I must say extremely accurate. There are a few changes I hope have been addressed in the VP4 version to make it even more realistic...Share some of your thoughts on changes you would like to see in the new version to make it more realistic... I think Steve CHaplin has done a great job on his past versions and Im sure he will continue to do so...

Max Eberle is also featured on VP4 as a computer opponent Go Maxxxx

lol too funny. Maybe you should contact Steve Chaplin, he plays out of Hard Times billiards in bellflower Calif.. You cant miss him in a crowd, Hes 6' 7"
 
I would like to see a player vs computer in one pocket or straight pool option. (so that I can play some at work! :grin-devilish:)

I have had all versions of VP and so far they've been pretty good. I liked the first one with Lou Buetera doing trick shots.
 
I'm a big virtual pool fan. I found I play better in real life than I do in the game, however. Playing VP without the aiming lines is TOUGH, I think.

Once you set your camera view correctly it isnt any harder to make a shot than real life.. when you are on the table in the game hit escape and select Settings then hit cameras....select field of view and change it to 24 to 20 and try it

Will do. I now own a Mac though. Will you have a Mac version? If not, don't sweat it--- most of the great games out there aren't OSX compatible.

As a newbie player I'm interested in the learning aspects of the program.

In your opinion will it help me with learning cue ball positioning and such? cuetable.com has been interesting but I feel like it's pretty limited.

I know the best learning is by playing the real thing, but I don't have a table at home so the best I can do is an hour a day on a real table.

Virtual Pool is as close to playing the real thing, you can practice kicking systems help you learn the Diamond system. You can play any game theres is in pool.......You will improve your real game with what you learn

Just get a junky PC off ebay and connect it to your flat screen TV. Your life will change.

I read that you will be able to pivot to do BHE. Maybe CTE might be possible.

Funny, the very first VP1 was available for the Mac. I had it and loved it. I haven't played it since. That was in 1997 or so.

Now that there is an iOS version, and the Mac is gaining popularity again, perhaps it will make it to OSX someday:)
