Maybe I took my pool ball washer TOO far!!

"I got the motor's to a probably WAY too high of an RPM for cleaning pool balls but I was just playing. Still have to dial in the potentiometers so my max adjustment is the speed I need....Which raises a question! Anyone know what diamond runs theirs at???"

You don't want to be saying "I put my pool balls in, and they came out looking like colored BB's"

Just a few more pics.

Operator interface pic of each side running with a time countdown.

"Q", I see by the license plate on your motorcycle that you hail from Michigan. Tim "Tool Man" Taylor would be proud of your effort!!!

Uhmmmmmm . . . .

me thinks you're just a wee bit over the top . . . did you add a self-diagnostic app? And maybe an automatic "clean" sensor that would tell you the precise moment the balls are officially clean?

Quite frankly . . . that's one hell of a pool ball cleaner.

The ball's are probably thinkin', "Dude . . . this is like goin' to the hot tub! I can't wait to get that skanky damn chalk tramp trash off my body! Let 'er spin!"

This is inspiring.

I'm going to make a ball washer out of a bicycle, save on energy costs. Lol.

You didn't take it too far ,,but wow it is nice. Nothing wrong with that. You probably got some enjoyment out of making it,,so the cost does not matter.

I am going to make one out of a 5 gallon bucket and a polisher. lol Don't ask me how ,,,, ,,cuz I'm not telling!! Lol (it's high tech stuff)

Very nice machine you built!!!

LOL! trust me you wouldn't want to know the price of all these components brand new off the shelf!

Well, we'd all expect you to incorporate lightly used components, with a significant "AZ billiards" member discount. Duh. :grin-square:

Sooooo, maybe $250?

So I got a little time this weekend to get the inside trim done.
I had to carpet them which reminded me a little of felting rails!

I had to make some relief cuts for the overlapping carpet and a 45 degree bevel to mount the LED lights

Just for fun I put some power to the lights. I was hoping to get a calm even light so I back beveled them and fire them at the carpet walls...Seemed to work pretty well.

real sweet! keep 'em pictures coming.
btw are there going to be removable fabric on the ball washer? Cos it seems the balls have direct contact with the carpet and i'm sure the carpet does a fine job cleaning but won't changing the entire fabrication be a chore? I'm sure you must've thought that out considering how meticulous you are, just curious what you have in mind.

Very cool!!!

You could make some money off it if you made a deal with the local pool hall owner. But not from selling it,,probably never get back what you have into it. But a little change(shared with owner) for cleaning customers balls would be OK.

All surfaces that touch a ball have Velcro to attach replaceable carpet.
