Q Masters altercation?

Tempers fly, things happen. It's good QMasters isn't pressing charges and it's good Darren isn't.

I hope Blair invites Darren on PPP for round 2.

Yes, thats right.
When Lee Brett first began posting on here I think there was a couple of people who had said that he was crazy and to stay clear of him. If I remember right, I am not on either side of this but it seems like people are jumping on Appleton and thats when I remembered about Brett. Maybe someone can let us know if that was the case.

it's not like it's unusual.

JoeyA said Lee Brett is a stand-up guy, and I respect JoeyA's opinion.

Just the fact that Darren got up and went after Lee says that Lee had to be running his mouth pretty good to upset Darren that much.

How old are these guys?

I am guessing early 30s?

Duking it out can be fun when your young and often times you gain a mutual respect that can lead to friendship.

When you get a bit older though fighting is not much fun and you try to avoid it whenever possible.I had a guy threaten to punch me out not long ago and I had to retaliate by threatening assault charges if he did.I didn't think he was serious but just incase....

 Well, it appears that it takes very little to upset appleton. Efren just celebrated a little AFTER shaking his hand and he can't stop talking about it behind Efren's back. What a poor sport.

Tee-hee! :grin-square:

Hey, is this a comma splice or not? Which one would you use?

Example A: The facts are clear, we've reached an interesting interaction where regulation and technology can provide consumer protection into the future.

Example B: The facts are clear. We've reached an interesting interaction where regulation and technology can provide consumer protection into the future.

Example C: The facts are clear; we've reached an interesting interaction where regulation and technology can provide consumer protection into the future.

Just reading the above, it looks like there should be a period or even a semicolon after "clear." If you listen to the audio, though, I'm thinking a comma.

This is why sometimes it is necessary to actually *hear* what is said in order to apply the correct punctuation.

Which one do you think?

Just use your own punctuation like I do (whether it's appropriate or not!).

"The facts are clear...we've reached an interesting interaction where regulation and technology can provide consumer protection into the future."

"Boxing Brits." Thanks, JAMSGOLF. I'm still laughing! :killingme::killingme::killingme:

I suppose I could have said "Pujilistic Pool Players" or "Boxing Billiarding Brits" or "Englanders Encountering Enmity Exchange"...I reckon it could go on and on...

I would not exactly say Lee Brett is a stand up guy, I only know my dealings and when I beat him in Tunica this year he went into a rant on how I got lucky and I could play him a set for whatever the typical bs you get from people after they get beat.
He was literally yelling at me in front of the whole tournament, he had to apologize to all the diamond guys and me, but after his apology he said I could still play a set for whatever, which kinda nullified the apology.

My question is how do people that play decent, like Lee, get sponsored by tiger and such and they are probably a strong 6 in the APA.
I guess its all about perception and not reality.

Darryl needs to get back the pacifier from Earl...

Darryl Peach needs to get back the pacifier from Earl and give it to DAZ....

It's marketing.

Because of C.J.'s recent resurgence to the pool scene, contributing quality content to this forum, as well as offering pool strategies and tips, he got selected to be the captain of Team USA for the Mosconi Cup. Do you think he would have been chosen a year ago before he started marketing himself?

Don't get me wrong, I like C.J. and think he's an excellent choice. My point is it's all in the marketing why sponsors choose players. Players that take the initiative to put themselves out there sometimes do get rewarded.:)

CJ was actually the best player in the world one time in his life and he is very impressive to talk to and he has a ton of knowledge and credibility.
He isnt a fraud, or a marketing creation.

You need to read better. I never said he's a "marketing creation."

I haven't heard or seen C.J. in years -- UNTIL RECENTLY. Now he's the captain of Team USA. Do you think Matchroom would have chosen him last year when he was not on the pool scene?

C.J. marketed himself on this forum and elsewhere. He did contribute quality content, as well as have an ad banner up at the top. C.J. knows who to talk to and who will listen.

I know who he is. You don't have to give me a pool history lesson. I probably know more about him than you do, FWIW.

play it ...

You should have played him and I am not saying like for big money but for something like 100 a set.. cuz sometimes the best way is to let your stick do the talking while keeping your mouth shut.
Sponsors don't go around and check for a character certificate they only look for how much exposure they can get if they are putting money on you. Lee is well known, plays good and that's all it matters.

Lee is a strong 6 in the APA?

I don't know the guy well but he played out of Malarkeys (where I play) for a few weeks.I would say he is an inconsitant shortstop level player. He has a high gear for sure but what has he won?

I would not call the guy obnoxious but he has that British way of seaming slightly antagonistic to Mericans. He asked me to play some 1hole before and I declined and he didn't try to antagonize me.

He has a video out that was posted on the behindtherocktour website but is now removed. The video is kind of a joke imo as it goes into how to keep other players out of your space while at the table.

I should add that Lee also has a video that is considered legit but I have not seen it.also I have heard that he has instructed pros on some aspects of the game and is well reguarded in his coaching.
