I am interested in a full, straight shaft, from Tony. Please Pm price.I am very picky,so it has to be mint.Thanks.Well, i have a bunch of Black Boars.
Just a thought though.
NONE of the shafts have any identifying markers on them that prove they are black boar shafts. So i'm sure a lot of people will be wondering exactly what type of proof you are looking for.
I know that none of my black boar cues came with any type of letter of authenticity either as i got them before they became collectors items.
Good luck with your search.
so, can someone explain what would make a bb shaft so special? Are they made out of some unobtainium maple that only grows in a specific region?![]()

They are just that good. It is as simple as that. If it is signed Tony made it. And he isn't making any more. He needs every one for the Cues he builds.

let me test it and i will tell you if it is real BB shaft and i will look at the specs of it
This is the only way ....Taper, Insert, compression on Joint>>>>many more places to look and compare .....
Chris
I forget maybe $600 each? PM him. He was thinking of keeping a the shafts with his favorite numbers. They are also signed if memory serves.
Good luck,

In a nut-shell, demand vs availability.
As in all cues, particularly BB cues, people are looking for the quality of build, playability, etc. Tony is extremely selective of his shaft wood and very, very meticulous in his production techniques. It is easy to tell when you are looking at an intricate cue butt, but much harder when examining a shaft, but it is there. The quality of the wood, the precision of the construction, the way the shaft snugs up to the BB butt, etc.
Why does a Szamboti, Searing, Hercek, etc cost what they do? Quality is always in demand, and it always costs.

I spoke to Tony yesterday and he won't do it
Thanks for all the help.Have. Great day.

Send the Butt to Dennis Searing and get him to make you a shaft for it! It will be better for sure! Tony will not make one for you? Odd these cuemakers won't do work on their cues....Kinda takes away the desire to own one of their cues! Barry Szamboti,Pete Tascarella, Joel Herseck, Murray Tucker and John Showman will repair and make shafts for their cues I will stick with them! I don't own a Black Boar or Sugartree and have no desire to own one as the cuemakers mentioned above play better and they care about their customers and cues! Bobco729 had some extra BB Shafts at one time you may check with him....Good Luck, Ron
Thanks for all the good info Ron.I just couldn't believe that Tony won't sell me a BB shaft. It sounded to me like,he would,if I re wrapped and re finished the whole cue. CHA CHING.Have a great day Ron.
