TAR Match Proposal

I have an idea for a TAR match that I think would go over well with the "old school" pool players.

Why not have Keith McCready play Earl Strickland 9-ball using the "two-shot rollout" rules?

These two players definitely are characters that would make for interesting viewing and they have fast-paced playing styles that keep the game from being boring.

Earl won't be back on TAR. I just can't handle the drama. Would be great to see Keith come out and play someone whether it was on TAR or anywhere else.

I would like to see the two shot rules played by two great players. Have always heard about how people like them but I have never actually seen it played by pro's.

How about Toby Sweet? I've never seen him play and don't know how he plays now, but I've heard he was one hell of a two-shot rollout player.

Find any old-school player who plays in the same league with Keith and match them up in some old school 9-ball.
 
What about CJ, Rodney Morris, or even JA, if Keith thinks he can Hang with him?


Would purchase this in a heart beat. Could have Jam play a game of Scrabble with MikeyFrost as a under card bout?????

That's interesting. He beats SVB, probably America's best player & you say he won't be back because you can't handle the 'drama'.

I guess you mean behind the scenes drama because I would think that you would want in front the camera drama, as long as it's 'good' drama.

I'd love to see a scotch doubles match between Earl & SVB vs Efren & Dennis Orcola, Or Buste & Dennis, or Archer & Deschaine, or Sigel & somebody, or Hall & somebody, or CJ & somebody.

Marquis names, even past their prime, if that is the case, garner interest, even if it is nostagic interest. The common denominator in my above proposals are Earl & SVB. The second line on the card does not matter that much even though I would like to see all of them.

I just watched a match between Mr. Mosconi & Fats that I had not seen before. It was very entertaining.

This is just silly. You wouldn't purchase a match between the two current top USA players, but you would between some CRAZY FOOL, that can play lights out once in a while...


My guess would be you wouldn't pay for either. You probably wouldn't even really appreciate what you're watching if you did.

I'm not sure SVB would play with Earl after the last time.

And last I checked, any time Shane has played earl on a table that wasn't gaffed to **** all, Shane has beat him.

Earl has played Shane three times on TAR. Earl lost twice. The last time they played Earl essentially quit at the end of the match. Just stopped trying. I won't have anything to do with someone who does that.

I defy anyone to work with Earl for a week and not come out of the experience wishing they would of been waterboarded instead. Life is too short.

Wow!! Now tell us how you really feel about ole Pearl. Ha Ha Its a crying shame that someone like Earl has the talent he has and the personality of a crocodile. What a waste.

I would love to see CJ play someone on TAR.

I hear you. That is what I figured. You have more inside info of the behind the scenes drama.

Earl is Earl. Genius or Idiot, the line between is oh so very thin at times.

But.. how about one of those other 'old' / young doubles matches? Marquis names for us over 50 crowd.

Are you talking about just on TAR, because three matches is hardly a worthy sample size.

Shane is obviously the superior player, but let's not act like Earl can't beat him without the "aid" of a gaff table. On his day, when he catches a gear, Earl can still hang with, and beat, anybody. It's just that his days are fewer and farther in between these days, for a variety of reasons.

And for the record, I don't blame anybody for not wanting to work with Earl. From a fan's perspective I think he's great, but to deal with on a business type deal? Forget it.

As much as I love watching Earl play that absolutely killed it for me last time. He totally gave up at a moment in the match when he was actually in control. Hr called his miss before he shot the freaking shot...
 
Keith Sigel push out rules I think would make an entertaining match. Should be both competitive skill wise and humor wise.

I was talking about on TAR, but you can bet your ass, Earl doesn't want to play on a diamond any time soon. Look the guy can play, but he is a shell of his former self at best. He can show up every once in a while, and that's about it. I wish I was wrong, because I do like watching him play, but putting Earl in the same arena as Shane is ludacris.
