TAR Match Proposal

Earl won't be back on TAR. I just can't handle the drama. Would be great to see Keith come out and play someone whether it was on TAR or anywhere else.

I would like to see the two shot rules played by two great players. Have always heard about how people like them but I have never actually seen it played by pro's.

and lets put mike dechaine back on TAR that makes sense he is getting very close to the so called drama category hes actuallt probably already there

Grady Seasons vs Vincent Lauria .
Be nice to see these 2 play again and start out even.

Hey, Grady, up your ass with the spot. Is that okay with you?

You gotta have two things to win. You gotta have brains and you gotta have balls. Now, you got too much of one and not enough of the other.

That's unfortunate. With 100 % certainty I won't be purchasing any TAR events. One of the most talented people to ever pick up a cue and you ban him because you don't like his attitude ? I would have starved if I took that attitude to work everyday. I think I'm starting to see why pool has trouble getting air time on tv.

I think I'll let that statement stand on it's own. Wow..............

How long have you been around pool?

While you are right in saying Earl is one of the most talented players ever, there are several points you are failing to notice.

1. TAR (Justin) reserves the right to refuse any player he deems more of a challenge than an asset.

2. Earl is not as large of a draw as you think he is...I have seen all the TAR matches featuring Earl...If he is just a touch more hard to fade in person and work with as it is watching him self destruct on live ppv, then it is too much trouble!

3. How many TAR matches did you purchase featuring Earl? I would say 0...and if so, your strong opinion of how TAR does business is unwarranted...

Furthermore, if your answer would be, 'I didn't know about TAR when Earl played on it!"...then again, you are spouting off at the mouth regarding something you have no knowledge of...

I don't mean to come off hardcore here but your bashing of TAR is misguided! Buy a PPV or don't buy a PPV...it doesn't really matter! But I can assure you that Justin tries his best to bring the folks who actually purchase PPV's what they want to see...

Which TAR PPV was your favorite?

What are the odds that you have ever purchased a TAR ppv before? lol

What does it matter ? He has the right to sell whatever he wants, I have the right not to buy it. There is no shortage of free pool matches on the internet, including those featuring Earl (Thanks to the people at Inside Pool and others). TAR will either figure that out or they won't, I won't be losing any sleep over it either way. They won't be getting my $$. Get over it.

It matters because for someone to say as you did that you will never buy a TAR match in the future, you would have had to have been a threat to buy one in the first place. If you haven't bought one in the 5 or so years TAR has been in business (which I'd bet on now after reading your reply), you are no threat to ever buy one. You are not a potential customer, so your opinion holds little or no value.

Btw, I've bought a few with Earl, and was even in the audicence when they played on that 10 footer. Let me tell you, I thought he was going to jump the table and start attacking the fans. No lie, it was scary. I don't blame any promoter in the least for not wanting to deal with him.

Exactly, I knew he had never purchased a TAR match...funny though how people who have never purchased one seem to know who will be top draws...

and many of the asinine posters on this site don't pony up and support TAR even when Justin finally makes a game happen they want to see!

1.You support TAR.

2. I support the players that make TAR possible.

Let's agree to disagree without the childish name calling.

Earl just wants a fair game, plane and simple.

Earl just wants a fair game, plane and simple. He's exciting to watch, love him or hate him. From my experience he acts fine unless he feels like he's getting cheated somehow.

I would love to see a 2 foul pushout match between two players that know how to play that game. CJ and Keith would be a great match! One problem would be the table. Diamonds are very tough to bank on and in pushout, you need to be able to make banks....and the TAR table is way too tight to play pushout on ( or anything else for mortal players...lol ). A good double shimmed GC III ( or extended rail GC ) with 4 1/2 inch pockets would be the way to go...IMO.
CJ wants to play....call Keith...and lets go to Dallas! Sigh me up for PPV!
Wow, pushout. My brain is alive!!...lol.
Keith, I have an extended rail GC III with pro cut 4 1/2 inch pockets. You are welcome to use at any time. I'm in fairfax city, va.

In my experience Earl is batshit crazy, quits when he has a chance to win and at the end of the day is more of a liability than an asset. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Evidently a little company called Matchroom feels the same way. But what do they know about pool compared to a few of the geniuses running around the internet pool forums ?

I respect anyones right to not buy anything they dont like. What I dont understand is those people who do not respect my right to work with people who are reasonable to work with. If people decide they want to be all "If you dont have XYZ then I'm never buying anything again" then so be it and vaya con dios home skillet.

Marquis names, even past their prime, if that is the case, garner interest, even if it is nostagic interest. The common denominator in my above proposals are Earl & SVB. The second line on the card does not matter that much even though I would like to see all of them.
&

Rick, you've got a good idea here. I'd like to see some old war horses on the TAR Stream maybe Nick Varner vs. Buddy Hall in an all around. Winner plays Keith.

Um, Yeah.........Sounds respectful to me. I'm sure your right, Earl is the problem.

I recommend you don't use Earl Strickland ever again, and I never suggested you work with him in the first place. I just said, from my experience with Earl that he gives back what he takes in.

However, I certainly will. Earl and I have made well over a million dollars together and to me it's like Billy Incardona says "you keep score by money, not by games"....enough said, the Game has spoken. ;)

I will certainly play push out with anyone, especially in Dallas

I will certainly play push out with anyone, especially in Dallas - I do have an "order" that I need to follow. The older road players will know what I'm talking about. ;)

I suspect if people pay to see Earl anymore, it's to see a meltdown. A few fans will say "no, I want to see him hit his high gear and play like a 5-time US Open champ!"

...well, ok, but you guys must be constantly disappointed.
I haven't seen him play like that in years. I don't know if he can for more than 20 minutes at a time. Physically maybe, but mentally?

As JCIN points out, earl goes into give-up mode WAAAAAY too easily. He gets an attitude about some bad roll that happened early in the match and then spends the next thirty racks dogging it and complaining. From that point on, his speed is always 2 gears behind the other guy's.

I don't dislike earl but I won't get out my wallet to watch him play because I know I'm not going to see hours of perfect pool.

Keith I'll watch, perfect pool or not, just to see how he hits 'em after being basically retired for a while.
