If it was me and my phone you would be picking your teeth up off the ground.

Chances are you would get the same result from OMG.

Your lack of focus is your problem. No one elses.

Make sure to post what it is like playing pool for the first time outside of your basement.

I am curious about something, and this is off topic of the thread, but did you used to be a moderator of this forum? For some reason, I seem to recall that, but maybe it was another member with a similar name.

FWIW, I never labeled OMGWTF the "cyberbully" name, as you have stated. You may want to go back and re-read my post for clarification. In fact, I gave her a greenie for her tasteful post in this thread.

I'm not sure why you seem upset. Myabe you are not upset, and it is me that is misinterpreting your posts. :embarrassed2:

But I hope this helps to clarify my contribution to this thread.

Nope. Never modded.

I'm not upset. I just don't like ridiculous posts.

OMGWTF and Mike D are both adults. To even hint at it being "cyberbullying" as you did is completely ridiculous.

Also off topic. I'm a fan of Keith's. Met you guys awhile back at SBE. Probably like 6 or 7 years ago. That might be how you remember my screen name or something.

I appreciate your thoughts and sharing them in a polite manner.

Everybody interprets things differently, I guess. All of us could watch the movie The Hustler, and we each could come away with a different opinion about the movie, interpretation, et cetera.

I guess what I am trying to say is not all of us may have the same likes and dislikes, and that's okay. :)

Sometimes I post as fast as I am thinking, because that's what I do for a living, I'm afraid, so it's an occupational hazard. :o

I noticed you edited your post twice, but I'm guessing it was because I quoted your post, so to put back what you had erased. :grin-square:

I'm actually pretty impressed with how Mike Dechaine and OMGWTF posted in this thread. That was pretty cool. It's the other posts that are somewhat alarming, for lack of a better word.

Maybe the pool print media folks should take notice of OMGWTF's expertise in pool-related matters. This thread alone has garnered more attention than a challenge match, a tournament, or even a flame thread. She could be a real asset to some of these mundane pool periodicals we read from time to time. It just might be a boost for pool in 2013 to have something fresh, new, and innovative written by someone who is current.

I would enjoy the read. :thumbup2:

Where do you play in Maryland? We're heading out to hit some balls. I'm assuming you're in the Baltimore area. Looks like the only place to play pool now is Top Hat and Big Daddy's in Glen Burnie.

I was told that a friend of mine, fondly nicknamed "Korean Lee," has a pool room up in Baltimore area. He is the brother of the guy who used to own USA Billiards in Laurel, before they shut down.

Yep. I edited it twice. Second time was to put back what you quoted.

I figure I dont like it when people post ridiculous shit so I shouldnt do the same thing... needless to say, after the quoting, my ridiculousness is now out there.

I too am impressed with how Mike handled things in this thread. But I also think that is partly to do with people expecting him to do the opposite. Either way, good for him and kudos for the jab he got in on his first post in this thread. I will admit, I chuckled.

I too immediately post what I am thinking, which is why I go back and edit it to make it more politically correct, but it is what it is. Generally after the edit I still feel the way I did prior to it though when I made the post originally.

PM incoming about Pool in MD... some recent closings not sure if you heard about yet....

This time you beat the edit clock with this addition. You must type as fast as I do, or close to it. :D

Looking forward to the PM!

MD calling spectators out for texting silently is plain silly. Also anyone that posted here stating texting during a match is out of line was being silly IMO.

did anyone else notice how big Mike's head is? :grin-square:

"I shall call him mini-me".

Just sayin.

There was no mention of the instance where, Mike was aleady getting drilled and Shane shot a jump shot , Mike said "I realize it's a little late in the match but is he allowed to use 2 jump cues?". That must be why Shane was winning, because he used two jump cues!

I thought that was super nitty as well. Like something an APA4 might pull at regionals.
What did he expect, to get awarded ball in hand or 1 game on the wire for an equipment violation?

It really shows the difference between "valid reasons" and someone who is just making excuses for a loss.

That is great, he's exactly a 3/4 size Justin.

Justin, Mike and I went to lunch a few days before the match. I sat in the middle. We looked like brothers that gradually got larger. Was at Best Billiards with Mike the night before TAR, he was playing Max a set. Everyone thought I was Mike's brother. lol

This makes no sense to me. Zero. You seriously mean to tell me, that if you're in the middle of a match, you have such a lack of focus to your game that you would look into the crowd for someone to pick on, and then you would destroy someone's property? you're playing a match. focus on your match, not what everyone else is doing. and she's not writing for the new york times, it's an internet blog. If you want journalism and propriety, go where there's journalism and propriety.

It is a matter of respect...which is not given to Dechaine.
By her own admission she said he told her it bothered him, yet they kept on dong it.
TAR shouldn't be the place for little girls to play with their phones and twittle their hair.
I guess her being a big celebrity and putting down a nominal fee entitles her to be there no matter what. Maybe next TAR her and the girls can decide what color eye shadow looks best on them.
She is an obvious hater, if I were Dechaine I would tell them all where it is at. Pool isnt a popularity contest, it is supposed to be a competition.
Crap like this is why pool will never recover. Any banger can judge the character of elite pro players whenever they like. Keep it up, there wont anything left, we are well on the way.

...except for his head :)

I loved the blog entry. Melinda is a very good writer!

Dave

Justin as a bigger head, I can cover Mike's head totally with my thumb, but when I try that with Justin's, his forehead pokes out.

I can't believe I actually did that to measure them LOL
