you really have a way with words...

seriously wow...

All the negative posts by people who know nothing about what's going on make it easier to maintain my customer waiting list. See, rather than raise my prices, or keep a running list of those I would do work for, it's much simpler to build a list of all those that don't, and never will...have enough money to hire my services;)

I would have no freaking clue how many, don't really go around the country trying to find that out. I just know my table plays great. And it was not done by RKC. Not that he does not do incredible work, just, not the only guy who can do rails and maintenance on a table.

Not really speaking about R&D though, just maintenance on a table. RKC seems to do quite a bit of that (R&D) from what I read.

For what it's worth, I don't recover pool tables, as in just simply install the cloth and make the table new. That is what almost all the table mechanic's in this country do that call themselves table mechanic's. I turn that kind of work down, even if you had 20 tables that need the cloth changed on, because there's someone else that is relying on that income, so I don't step on anyone else's toes when it comes to working on tables in someone else's area. What I get hired to do, and agree to do, is work that the local table mechanic's can't do, and for that kind of work, I never run out of customers.

And I do go around the country, so I see what others are capable of doing when it comes to working on pool tables, which is the reason why I've trained other table mechanic's to do work on a much higher level than they ever thought possible;) so out of respect for them, I don't do work in their area either, but would rather pass on the request for work to the mechanic I know in their area that can do the job right;)

And jay- just up the coast

Oh, FUKK! I can't believe I forgot Jay, after all the favors he has done for me. I wont post for the rest of the day, as punishment.

I'll hope and presume I'm on that list. PM me, I'll give you my real name and the city I live in.

If you are ever in the neighborhood and hungry, I'll buy you a burger.

If you were hungry, I'd feed you as well, but $10,000 wouldn't be enough to get me to work on your pool table, so I guess you know which list you're on:rolleyes:

This has nothing to do with the fact that you are injecting alleged personal info on someone with allegations to their "IRS problems" and the MODS should get after you for it.

I think Glen should do what car dealers do. Build himself or carry a set of universal, loaner rails. Bolt em on, swap em back out when the job is done. That way, nobody gets pissed.... and glen can take all the time he wants.

The loaner rails would pay for themselves because customers wouldn't mind paying more if they didn't lose use of their table.

You shoulda been a businessman!!!

Maniac (good thinkin')

What is between myself and the OP is personal too, yet you stuck your big nose in to it...why? Because you think you matter to somone? No, you're just a nobody, seeking the attention of others in order to try and be somebody:rolleyes:

If you get rid of your cell phone and computer then you will have 4 more working hours a day and you will catch up in no time.

There's still only 24 hours in a day, my cell phone provider lied to me when they said get a cell phone and you'll have more time in the day to do other things...bullshit:thumbup:

Glen

Well, I have work to get back to doing, so I can't come out and play until later tonight, so for those of you helping me build that "no work list" keep adding your names;)

How would you determine who "don't and never will have the money to hire you" ?

The negative comments here about you ? Wanna compare banks accounts ? big bank take little bank ! I'm game.

Jesus Christ dude.

Are you really that stupid, or are you just trying to act that way. We're not talking about comparing bank accounts, what I said was....YOU don't have enough money in YOUR bank account to hire me, that means NO amount of money will get me to work on your pool table:rolleyes:

I'm just wondering .... How is it that RKC has had the time to regularly post here over the last several months, yet has had absolutely no time to update customers regarding the status of their repairs ? This could easily have been done via PM, in between posts explaining how Diamond tables are the only tables on earth worth even considering playing pool on. :)

Sorry .... I'm just not getting the whole 'artist' thing .... We're talking about pool tables, it's not exactly rocket science .... Unless you choose to delude yourself that it is .... And yes .... I'm quite aware I'm now on the dreaded 'you won't work on my table even for $10,000' list. I'll sleep just fine knowing that. I absolutely refuse to ever deal with businessmen who conduct themselves in this manner .... There's just no excuse for it. It's basically saying that your time is far more important than mine is .... Which simply is not the case.

Think about it .... All this could have been avoided with a simple one minute PM to the OP.

I don't know about RKC, and I haven't read the thread entirely, but I do know what it's like to work in a time-sensitive field. Racing against the clock, deadlining, and the whole 9 yards is a brutal lifestyle. Sometimes it is not possible to please everybody. You do the best you can.

That said, communication is crucial in this regard. Sometimes clients respect you more if you just level with them, even if the truth affects them getting their job late.

Oh ok, my bad.

You couldn't price it cheap enough to get me to hire you after reading your responses here. So go ahead and put me on that list, lmao.

You really got me on that one.

WOW ! You are DEFINITELY not doing yourself any favors here .... Whats that old saying ? When you're in a hole the first thing you should do is STOP DIGGING.

I certainly understand that. But most of these people really don't need an engineer to replace a mechanic (so to speak). Your time obviously is better spent elsewhere. If you have the time, then great for the guy who gets your help. But obviously you don't have the time to do it all, or there would not even be a thread like this.

But I don't care who it is, where they from, how much they know, or how long of a waiting list they got, a phone call or explanation via pm here, to a customer should be noooo problem. And usually they are totally understanding with a simple explanation.

Being a Network engineer for a company, and also doing it on the side, I could never just leave someone hanging without clarifying or explaining a hold up. In my case, a company could lose millions if I done so. It is just pure business ethics, and it goes a long way with ones reputation. It seems the billiards industry is lacking that in many areas. Cue making as well.
