Rip-off Report on Glen, The Real King Cobra

You are absolutely right. When my car is in the shop for repairs and I have to rent a car. Its a rip-off.

Kevin

If the shop was doing a job for which they had the parts in stock and the reason it wasn't getting done was simply because they don't feel like doing it because a more profitable job came in that they hadn't known about when you dropped off your car then yes it's a rip off.

Glen isn't Michelangelo. He's a decent woodworker who specializes in pool tables. The reason he's in scarce supply is because for the money that's in it, most with similar skills and smarts find more profitable endeavors. None of this excuses how he conducts himself as a human.

With all due respect, I own a business that's many times more complex than working on pool tables with the same type of customer loyalty. Folks willing to wait months for me to do the job instead of someone else. But I still do what I promise.

Stop already with this justification bullshit. It's making you sound foolish.

I'm just wondering .... How is it that RKC has had the time to regularly post here over the last several months, yet has had absolutely no time to update customers regarding the status of their repairs ? This could easily have been done via PM, in between posts explaining how Diamond tables are the only tables on earth worth even considering playing pool on. :)

Sorry .... I'm just not getting the whole 'artist' thing .... We're talking about pool tables, it's not exactly rocket science .... Unless you choose to delude yourself that it is .... And yes .... I'm quite aware I'm now on the dreaded 'you won't work on my table even for $10,000' list. I'll sleep just fine knowing that. I absolutely refuse to ever deal with businessmen who conduct themselves in this manner .... There's just no excuse for it. It's basically saying that your time is far more important than mine is .... Which simply is not the case.

Think about it .... All this could have been avoided with a simple one minute PM to the OP.

REV
Careful man, he'll put you on the list.

You sure think you know what's going on and what has gone on between myself and the OP...don't you! Ever heard of text messaging, that is how we've been keeping in contact, I in fact just got Tony's text message 2 days ago, asking for his money back, yet he posted here before I even got the chance to tell him that sending him his money back would be no problem....but keep thinking you're smart:rolleyes:

I don't need to know all the gory details to know a service person who's really full of himself with an attitude .... And you're right ... I AM smart .... I can see in you somebody who's damn lucky to have a loyal following ... Because from a business perspective .... You're your own worst enemy.

So ... I'm glad to be on the dreaded 'never work for' list.

Again .... Was this worth it ? Stop digging ....

Hey man, I've always read your posts and enjoyed them, and I realize I'm just a newbie here, and you're a long time veteran, but c'mon .... Admit you could have handled this better, and move on .... But most of all .... Complete the job you were paid to do.

That said, communication is crucial in this regard. Sometimes clients respect you more if you just level with them, even if the truth affects them getting their job late.

Absolutely ! I'd venture to say that there's not a negative poster on this thread that would have felt the way they do if there had been ongoing communications. Especially the OP. Things happen .... Everybody understands that .... But flat out ignoring people to the point that they consider selling their partially dismantled pool table because they can't get a response about their repair ? That is just over the top.

You know what, it's a real ***** being the best there is, but someone has to be, so it might just as well be me. No business plan in the world actually gets the job done, it's still done by my hands, and not someone else's, so that means I have to be there to do it.

Problem is I can only work on one pool table at a time, but for all of you who think you have the right to tell me what I should do or not do, or how to do the work I do, I have one question for all of you?...How the hell come YOU'RE not out doing what I'm doing to make a living? All I read is that there's a whole bunch of you out there that don't know shit about what I'm doing for a living, yet you feel educated enough to tell me how I should run my life.

Here's a saying for all of you, in which I truly believe in...."The hardest jobs in the world are made easy by all THOSE that don't have to do them"

How about "never assembled" pool table, as in it had never been set up by the OP, because it needed work done to it before it was even ready to be set up:eek:

At this point, I'd rather give the OP is money and rails back untouched;)

What is between myself and the OP is personal too, yet you stuck your big nose in to it...why? Because you think you matter to somone? No, you're just a nobody, seeking the attention of others in order to try and be somebody:rolleyes:

Glen

It is between you and him but you choose to inject his alleged 'IRS problems" when you could have left it out but you just had to do that because that is how you are - and this is a forum and I wanted to point that out.

Please, please stop digging ..... You're revealing your true character and it's not a pretty sight, at least not at this time ... Do you REALLY want to go back a week from now and read the things you've written ? Talk about making a person cringe .....

REV

Glen????

Well, I have work to get back to doing, so I can't come out and play until later tonight, so for those of you helping me build that "no work list" keep adding your names;)

Glen

You do realize that stating that people are on your list of never doing work for is rather childish an asinine, don't you???

I mean based on what they've posted regarding your character and professionalism, do you really think they would EVER wanted you to work on a table for them? Or do you think that you are just so far above the rest of the mechanics that EVERYONE wants you to fix their table???

Wow, I guess I can go ahead an add myself to your list now too right? Luckily I can build pool tables from absolute scratch and I have, so I don't really need your services...

I understand you having that feeling.

Even now, after all this, I have no doubt that almost every single person here would give you the benefit of the doubt that you just got carried away with your comments, and temporarily 'lost it' on an Internet forum. We've all probably done it at one time or another.

I know I for one would respect the hell out of you for just saying .... Hey All ... I lost it .... I'm Sorry ... I don't know what i was thinking .... And to the OP .... I'll have the rails finished and delivered within the week .... And then do it.

The course that you're pursuing here is the wrong one. It may not seem like it now in the heat of the moment when it seems like you're getting ganged up on ... But the opposite option really is the path best chosen.

Good luck either way.

All the negative posts by people who know nothing about what's going on make it easier to maintain my customer waiting list. See, rather than raise my prices, or keep a running list of those I would do work for, it's much simpler to build a list of all those that don't, and never will...have enough money to hire my services;)

Glen

Please make sure I'm on the top of your list of people you wouldn't work for.

You were already on that list, even before this thread;)
