Glen has a back up plan that is stronger than his back(and thats scary strong). Dont worry about glen-o he will always be fine, he came up with that plan a very long time ago, shared it with me. its his biz but he is not short sighted and told me "When my back is like yours...." or something like that.

best
eric<-----5 back operations and counting....

And that plan is just about ready to kick in, should know maybe next week or so:cool:

Really??? I turned down a job offer to move to Jakarta, Indonesia for $2,000 a week, all expensises paid. Turned down a job offer to move to Columbia, South America to work for Jamar billiards, who's been building tables for over 45 years, as a design consultant. I also turned down a job offer to move to Viet Nam to run a factory to build a new model 9ft to compete with Diamond's ProAm's and Brunswick's Gold Crown 5. Yeah, it's luck all right.

My reasons were that there's enough work right here in my own backyard that I don't have to move somewhere else to work on pool tables, or go to work doing the same thing I've done with Diamond. Why...for more money? Money is not what motivates me, but you seem to think you know what makes me..."LUCK"...what a joke.

Smarten up???...When I graduated my AIT in the military in 1974...I was the honer graduate from my class, that means I was at the TOP of my class to graduate...and you know what??..I never even studied like everyone else did, I was out playing pool all night while everyone else was worrying about graduating. At 17 I took and passed my GED in the top 2 percentile, and never spent a minute studying.

Yeah, I lucked into my job alright:rolleyes: I've given away jobs that paid over $100,000 a year because money don't impress me, it's to easy to make:rolleyes:

Glen

Wow I think we must be living in a parallel universe...here's my story...when I was a kid nobody liked me, so one of my neighbors that had a pool table left their door wide open one day, so went in and took the rails off of their table so they couldn't play, and got them to pay $250 for me to give them back...but, once I get the $$$ I just split town with the rails...and then the joke was really on them, since I sat at home with their rails and their money, and while they were really unhappy about it, hey I was happy, so what the heck...(that and I'm really handsome and smart, and can make a lot of money, when I do decide to work on my terms)....

My experience with Glen. He delivered my Diamond table three years ago, and it came maybe 2-3 months later than expected. No worries, as I felt no urgency and he did communicate with me and let me know how he was doing.

He wheeled that monster into my living room and told me to stand on the dolly for balance. Then he slowly lowered it into place on the floor, holding all that weight himself. HELLO! This guy has "World's Strongest Man" type strength. He spent several hours dialing it in and getting it just right. When he was done, the only thing left was to hang the huge Diamond light. I planned to call an electrician to do it, since that was not part of our deal.

Glen asked me what I was going to do about the light and I told him I had someone I could call to hang it. He said he would do it, NOW. I asked him if he needed my help, like holding one end or whatever. He told me to go back to my office and he would call me when it was done. Okay???

Maybe 30 minutes later he calls me to come out and there's my light hanging perfectly above the table. How he did it by himself I have no idea to this day. I wish I had a hidden camera recording it. It's kind of like, how did they build the pyramids?

So after maybe six hours he was done. He refused my offer to spent the night in my house, and instead slept in his truck. He left the next morning after I paid him and gave him a $100 tip. My recollection is the only thing he ate or drink while in my house was a few bottle waters. He was a perfect gentleman with me at all times, and for a moment thought about challenging me to a game, letting me know he was once a good player. That idea ended quickly though, ha ha.

I truly like Glen and am dismayed by his lack of tact on here. I know he is a loner and doesn't socialize much, except with his customers. But that is no excuse for having a rude attitude. Glen my friend, diplomacy goes a long way in this world. I too have a bone to pick right now, but I'm not going to offend anybody in stating my case. No question you are great at what you do, but so are a lot of other people, many of whom post on here. I really wish you would rethink some of the comments you made on this thread and let people know who you really are, a damn good guy!

best,
brian kc <---- may need to send a parallelagram

I have read a lot about this story, and will just say be it building Cues, Cases, or what ever your business iS.

Service, and communication is very important between service provider, and client.

I have seen several cuemakers who had great reputation, loose a lot of potential clients because of their poor customer service, and poor communication.

JMHO. Yes I was I was self employed for many years, and think a lot of my success was because of great customer service, keeping the client informed, of what was going on be in good, or if problems arose.

.

I still don't get the comparisons of a cue and a table, most people already have 2-4-8-50 cues to play with while waiting for the bad time managing cuemaker. Most people have 1 table.

I had 3, now I have 0-well I might have one, not sure if it got set up or not. I didnt ask Glen to do the current project. I asked Ernesto set it up, since its in LA, i figured i'd have a Ernesto box for a while. I should find out....

Jay, I just get tired of the god syndrome keyboard warriors here on AZ, that's all. It's all good, Tony has his money back, and his rails will ship back to him next week.

Yeah how does he move those tables? alone that fast?

I didnt read a single post of Glens in this thread except what i quoted a few minutes ago.

You made a good post Jay, Glen will always find his way and be just fine i aint worried about him, i share your sentiments as usual.

take care Jay

Fatboy:)

Don't be confused, I'm not worried about it at all.

Then, why did you post in the first place?...so you could be someone in this tread?...Really?...how dumb! I really think YOU are the one that is confused, as you have mistaken me for someone that might care about what you think:eek::rolleyes:

Makes sense to me dude, that's why you quoted my posts and responded twice. LMAO! You just can't keep that monster ego under control can you?

WTF has this got to do with it - you got paid - you got the rails - If I'm not mistaking this is in violation of the forum rules - posting personal info about someone - do you have proof of this ?? - As long as people make excuses for this guy he will keep doing this sort of thing.

Maybe he is having problems witht he independent rear suspension in his Jaguar XK.

Maybe RKC didn't like have his own rope pulled in public. Thus RKC mentioning the issue with the rear end int he guys car. Wow who knew car problems had to be kept private on a forum.:grin:

hmmm...I think it's YOUR ego that has you posting on here, so you can be a big shot and point out to everyone on AZ that you wouldn't hire me to work on your pool table even if I paid you to do so:rolleyes: in the first place, what in the hell ever went through your mind that made you even remotely think that I would even consider paying you for the job of doing just that...LMAO...you MUST think YOU are someone special...WOW. No, it's the other way around, I don't need customers like you for anything, as I'll get along just fine without needing your money.

"Can't we all jus' git along" ?

Quoting My man ... Rodney King ... "Can't we all jus' git along" ?

Glen ... We have never met, but I know how pleased SO many players are
after you pay them a visit and, masterfully, transform their Table into what
it should have been when first delivered from the Factory or Retailer.

I also know what it is like to be taunted by those few on here who "make
it their business to get into your business".

I was baited into responding much as you have in this thread and I am
still kicking myself for allowing that to happen. I was Banned a couple years
back for going overboard and I deserved it. You haven't done that yet, and I
sincerely hope you won't. Please let it go and keep doing what you do best.

My Best Regards to You and the OP, Howard

I have followed the careers of both Glen and Mark Gregory over the last few years. I would bet money, and have seen, that Glen doesn't want any part of a match between them measuring mechanic ability. Glen will come back with the fact that he taught Mark everything he knows, but its become pretty obvious lately that Glen is full of sh!t in that department. It's sad that Glen is allowed to bully every other table tech off of here, so he is considered "the guy" in his own little world.

"It's better to be thought dumb and stupid, than it is to OPEN ones MOUTH and remove all DOUBT"!!!

Mark is a great table mechanic, but he don't know anymore than I do. He rebuilds rails to perfection, so do I. But guess what, the depth of my knowledge as a table mechanic goes way beyond rebuilding rails, so there's no point in Mark and I matching up to see who's the best. And if YOU actually think you know what my skill level is as a table mechanic to be able to judge me on my skills, you're out of your mind!! Stick to what ever it is you do for a living, because I can say for sure what you're NOT good at, and that is trying to get Mark and I to compete at who's the best for your own personal entertainment. You're out of your mind if you think I'm scared to go up against Mark as a table mechanic, I just don't see any point in it....I mean WHY bother??? Really...what's in for Mark OR myself....cookies and coffee???

Get a life!!

Which reminds me of the quote from the Baltimore Bullet.

"I taught you all that you know, not all that I know"

For all of the keyboard heroes that are bashing Glenn about bring up the OP's IRS issue, the OP took it upon himself to air his own issues in a previous thread long before Glenn ever did.
I'm sure Glenn couldn't care less about anyones opinion's here. He conducts HIS business the way HE wants. If you don't like it, move on. The OP should have done his due dilligence before hiring Glenn to know what he was getting into instead of crying foul later.
I don't have a horse in this race but you sir are a.. what we call a head in the ass guy...and as you say Glenn conducts business his way, so when did hire the ....... to be his ........ to do the press release. Just a ????
