Rip-off Report on Glen, The Real King Cobra

I know this isn't related to this thread but I heard Tony Zinzola wants to trade Glen a custom cue for cobrasizing his table.

What's the estimated time of completion of this deal?

I love my keyboard, it's so crisp and smooth. Makes me feel very powerful just touching it!:smile:

I know...I know, I screwed up and told my daughter you offered me $10,000 for it, but I told her I wouldn't sell it for any reason, but times are hard being a table mechanic, I just can't find much work anymore, I'm starving to death....so, if push comes to shove...I may have to take you up on your offer....I think my daughter will understand in the long run:grin:

Maybe 30 minutes later he calls me to come out and there's my light hanging perfectly above the table. How he did it by himself I have no idea to this day. I wish I had a hidden camera recording it. It's kind of like, how did they build the pyramids?

So after maybe six hours he was done. He refused my offer to spent the night in my house, and instead slept in his truck. He left the next morning after I paid him and gave him a $100 tip. My recollection is the only thing he ate or drink while in my house was a few bottle waters. He was a perfect gentleman with me at all times, and for a moment thought about challenging me to a game, letting me know he was once a good player. That idea ended quickly though, ha ha. :wink:

I truly like Glen and am dismayed by his lack of tact on here. I know he is a loner and doesn't socialize much, except with his customers. But that is no excuse for having a rude attitude. Glen my friend, diplomacy goes a long way in this world. I too have a bone to pick right now, but I'm not going to offend anybody in stating my case. No question you are great at what you do, but so are a lot of other people, many of whom post on here. I really wish you would rethink some of the comments you made on this thread and let people know who you really are, a damn good guy!

Jay wins the award for "Most tactful while still being truthful post in this thread".

I just don't think that Glen really understands how he comes off Jay either that or it's worse and he doesn't care.

There are so many nuthuggers, but you know what? Aside from people that had no clue about table mechanics prior to Glenn TEACHING them, I haven't heard other respected table mechanics riding his nuts, only customers.

He obviously (based on his attittude) thinks that that's because they're all jealous of his near miraculous ability with the tables.

After all, he only cares about there being more table mechanics that really know what they're doing.

I say he only cares about his ego and making people (most importantly himself) believe that he's God's gift to pool mechanics, or even the god of pool mechanics who should be the altar icon of all other pool mechanics.

The sad thing is that He is a great mechanic and table engineer. Hell, I've said as much many times on here. I've said that the table he did up at the golden fleece with the extended rails with 4" pockets was the best diamond I've ever played on.

I found it funny that he claimed I was already on his list considering that in the last thread that popped up I had mentioned that I had a "Finest Custom made" 9 footer like the one he had replaced the redwood rail backings on and that I might be interested in having him redo mine too. Not because I can't do it myself, but because I'm lazy and have too much other stuff going on and it plays pretty good the way it is. He had even given me a quote for doing it, so I find it pretty hard to believe I was "Already on his list"

In that thread he had toned down his berating of other mechanics and his apparent god complex, which is the only reason I had even considered it.

It's obvious here though that that is right back in full force.

It's sad because REGARDLESS of how many customers or companies give him accolades and want to suck his balls, what he really appears to want (recognition as the best in the business) won't really come when you put a sour taste in so many potential customer's mouths by being an arrogant *****.

Keep thinking you know me that well, that you can speak my mind for me. Why do I even need to think for myself when there's so many others like you that think for me...or at least you THINK you know what I must be thinking. You're not even close Jaden, you really don't have any idea what's going through my mind, or in my thoughts...so maybe it's your GOD complex that lets you think you can see into my mind and thoughts...as in Glen thinks this...and Glen thinks that...WOW!

regarding your top comment highlighted in blue, during both times glen was at my house 8 days the first time and 5 days on the 2nd visit, he must have taken 4 or 5 phone calls every day from other mechanics, some considered top tier guys, all asking glen his thoughts on how to do this or that. I promise, this is no exaggeration.

When these calls came in, invariably, Glen dropped what he was doing and spent whatever time was neccessary to help them out. They may not be "riding his nuts" but they def have him on speed dial.

As for your bottom comment I highlited in blue, did you really reference ball sucking and leaving a bad taste in mouths in the same sentence? :thumbup: :eek: :D

It may not BE how you ARE, but that's how you come off, and you seem to either not realize it or care...

Jaden I might be one of Glen's friends that you like to refer to as Nuthugger.
It's a bummer when you get to know someone in the industry and he helps connect me with others in the industry. I have met very few AZers or pro's but I know Glen and because of him I have met many others who are friends of his. For me its kinda cool to get to know a handful of folks who are into the game as much as myself.

I also follow many other players on this board and try and follow their threads because after awhile you get to know who the forum leaders are. You are one of the members who I consider a leader here but that does not make me a Jaden > Nuthugger.

It is not easy to figure out the true character of the people on a forum, it is easy for some of us to miss represent ourselves here and that does not make us a bad person.
Sometimes I think we all judge people (myself included) to quickly and it can cause guys who could of been friends to dislike one another.

Glen may be one of the greatest guys on the planet. Many obviously think he's one of the best table engineers. I say table engineers because a mechanic is (sorry to be blunt) a guy that puts felt on a table and tightens down bolts.

Glen is a table engineer, he does MUCH more than a mechanic and is capable of much more than your average mechanic.

I don't judge him based on that. Some of the best at all walks of life can also be the most arrogant on the planet too. Bruce Lee was one of them.

Hell, some of the best pool players are some of the most arrogant people on the planet.

But which ones are given the most accolades??? Is it the douchy ones or the humble ones???

Efren comes to mind...

A LOT of people (including myself) have tried in the past to help Glen not to come off so DOUCHESQUE... Partly because of how good a mechanic we KNOW he is.

Maybe instead of being offended and coming off even MORE Douchy, he should consider that this isn't just a couple of guys who are jealous of his ability but are guys who are just put off by his arrogance and that know that he would get a lot farther by just letting his work (and those willing to speak to his work) speak for itself.

Instead of putting down other respected mechanics and giving himself accolades...
