No Bonus Ball live stream???

Can you explain how you're setting up the hosting for the stream? Based on the above paragraph-- it doesn't sound correct.

Who are you sending your RTMP feed to? What kind of plan? I think you used AWS last night. This isn't their core business. They do it (because they do everythiiiiiing), but they're not the best.

I'm assuming by VPS you mean virtual private server? That's fine for your website, but 100% not for the stream. You can send your stream to a single VPS that has a bazillion gigs coming off it and you'll always have quality issues. If that's legit how you're doing it and the stream goes off without a hitch -- you guys are nowhere in the solar system of 10k concurrent users.

If you guys share a little of the basics -- there are a few guys including myself that can steer you in the right direction before tonight.

If 10k concurrent views is legit, you must work off a cluster, preferably a legitimate CDN. Not any CDN, but one that does origin/edge RTMP clustering as a primary business. Serving 10k streams from a VPS is like performing heart surgery with a screwdriver -- ain't the right tool for the job.

Alright, a serious question.

Since they were blown away and never ever expected getting 10,000 viewers () last night with no publicity.

Why are they saying they are going to be set up to handle 10,000 viewers?

Wouldn't you want to handle 100,000-200,000 viewers since you probably were hoping for a thousand and you say you got ten times that amount with no one knowing about it?

When word gets out wouldn't they realistically expect at least a million viewers if not a few million.

So wouldn't these same problems keep happening all the time???

They set up for a thousand and get 10,000.........site goes down
They set up for 10,000 and get 30,000................site goes down
They set up for 50,000 and get 250,000..............site goes down

Would this be correct?

Not that I believe any of what they're saying right now.

All the mystery will be removed tonight...either it'll work, or it won't...but to be realistic, even if it takes them several tries (or more) to get it right...once it is working, people will still come and watch it then, even those who may have quit watching earlier when it wasn't working right....

I'll bet the players had a pep talk with each other and will be putting their best foot forward tonight. :)

And that's just the web portion, let alone the tech in studio, which has over 600 cables and pieces of hardware.

People can laugh all they want, but they have absolutely no idea of the tech that I've built into this over the past few months. I'm not bragging either, as until it all works in a real world environment, it means nothing. Im just explaining how far we've pushed this, and how little anyone really knows about what's going on in this studio.

It may take us a few weeks to get it all running live, but we will start at around 80% and slowly implement these latest bells and whistles. Same with the show opener and graphics. We will reshoot all these aspects the first week while all the players are here in the new studio, and then have the new graphics and intro ready for week 2-3. End quote

during phase two a client server aos real time fart detector will be unrolled-phase 3-smellivision

I avoid that site like i do cancer, i wont let anyone open it on my machine, that site is the end of the world IMO. the "Look at Me" world headquarters for losers.

Meanwhile everyone you know is on it...

I just hope they don't make our sport look sofa king we tart it, but an honest, "Hope you do well", to BB.

My daughter told me that Facebook is old-fashioned. That most people today use iPads and tablets and iPhones. :embarrassed2:

Well, they're using facebook/twitter/instragram ON ipads & iphones.

well two things-Opening night for any pool room or new pool thing is always way more than what follows for a looooooooooooong time if ever and remember it was FREE-when they introduce PPV, I estimate 85% fewer viewers

the only pep talk will take place after they get their first check and they all fire it against each other on the golf course.

No I'm getting the actual website. Could you be getting the cached page that's saved in your computer?

Im sure the BB website will work fine tonight. There will be a lot less traffic trying to log on with the fact that a lot of viewers from last night will be watching the tar match and plus it isnt free tonight...... Next thrus will be the real test with the fact that it is a free viewing...

Personally I didnt have much problems watching it last night. It lagged for only about 15 minutes then it ran absolutely fine until halftime.....There was no feed after halftime..All in all it wasnt bad..... Hope it catches on... Good job Nathan lots of luck with it
