Bonus Ball Players Can get Staked at The Southern Classic

Nice twist - Jay said there was a possibility they wouldn't be invited to the Bigfoot challenge. Not banned from the Southern Classic. And it is only a possible effect of those that gave their word - someone that should hold the most value - and then reneged.

Last year, at least 10, and probably more players, were on Jay's "Confirmed List" of Bigfoot contestants. These guys, for whatever reason, reneged on their "commitment" to play. I know, because I bet 100 with Jumpin Joe that the field would not fill, so I was watching Jay's posts on who was in and out very carefully.

Are these players that reneged last year banned from participation in future Big Foot tournaments? It seems they should be by Jay's logic.

Note, no way to prove the players that changed their mind, as Jay was editing his first post in last year's thread to update the players list (as was the right thing to do).

So for Bonus Ball they should adjust their lifestyle and spending habits but for National Tournaments they can't afford to play in them because they still need to live balls to the wall?? Just want to make sure I understand the mentality

Get a cooler - some bread and deli food and your own drinks Hell I did it one year at the DCC.

I do it every year....

Im Back!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sure did for forum members like yourself. You and I have always been on the opposite sides of issues, in more ways than one. :)

You don't have to worry about me posting about Bonus Ball again. They're dead as far as I'm concerned.
There's better things in life, for me at any rate, than pool.

Enjoy the forum, Luxury. Your contributions are so enriching. :p

Damn. I tried to stay away but this is just to much fun.

Jam.. Lets see here.. You were able to go 5 minutes before posting again after you made the above statement.

This statement "There's better things in life, for me at any rate, than pool" floors me. Then why are you on here 15 hours a day?

Don

After the Southern Classic concludes.

I see you're tail-gating me again. The AzBilliards Highway has plenty of other lanes. Why not move over and drive on by.

This is a pure comedy thread. I also just found out the Johnny Archer is M. Bison. Should have read this with my breakfast much more interesting than world events.

All I see is a side that's yelling, kicking, and screaming and feeling sorry for themselves. Mark and Greg just seem defeated already. If they have the championship belt they should be willing to take on a contender or two...all that's saying when you see them running is Bonus Ball must be at least a worthy adversary at a minimum. Where is Ric Flair when I need him?

Just more jibber jabber from a bunch of opportunists that were given opportunity to make a difference in pool but gave no opportunity.

I think most people would prefer to be on a payroll. It's like asking athletes to have all incentive based pay vs guaranteed money in their contracts. The NFL would be thrilled to pay only the top 10 quarterbacks, and tell the other ones that worked hard, sorry about your game but you just didn't make it to the payouts this time, there is always next year though, cause we will keep playing games lol.

Because this isn't pool!!! This is drama high. It seems where there is drama there is Jam and shortly there after Mr Wilson. I am not laying blame on her or anyone else just stating the facts. I am just enjoying the show. It should be called "The real nits of pool"

Lenny, Uncle Sam is gonna want his share too. I know a lot of the players are flying back and forth. Take Mika for example, he's been back and forth from ny. $1000 - taxes - $400 flight = flipping burgers. Your "few hours of work" doesn't account for the fact that they're in Vegas. I'd guess you're 1099ing the players so hopefully they save money for taxes and also write off the flight. But they're still not exactly making much money out of the deal.

Taxes are only an issue when you're making money. No income, no taxes.

Plain and simple, if the BB money were less attractive than their best alternative (tourneys, giving lessons, flipping burgers, whatever), then the players wouldn't be playing in BB. We basically know that, at least for now, BB is beneficial to the players because they chose to participate.

I hope she comes on board, her and Jennifer Beretta are a draw for sure. There has to be a solution to making pro pool successful, that should be the goal for us fans who enjoy the game at its top level.

I'm sorry to say but Beretta is no draw.

Bonus ball should have chosen the top 36 players they could get in North America for starters. Beretta would not make the top 200. They want a professional league with a lot of minor league players.

If the "employer" provides to the IRS the 1098, listing all the 1099s they doled out with the pool player's Social Security number on them, the IRS doesn't care if the person has deductions or expenses. They want their money.

Paying quarterly taxes, of course, is ideal. It's tough to do, though, if you can't hang onto money. I don't know too many pool players who pay quarterly taxes, truth be told. :embarrassed2:

I do know that in the past, a few Bonus Ball players of today left the pool scene and got a traditional 9-5 job working construction. I can understand the lure of guaranteed weekly paycheck. I'm torn about this aspect. I do understand what it's like to be on the road for these players, living out of a suitcase.

It will be interesting to see how all this unfolds. I do wonder what the future holds. I'm not exactly confident, because of the mistakes made to date, that Bonus Ball will succeed.

If there are any dancing monkeys, it's us that post here...(mostly childish propaganda, veiled insults, turgid exaggerations and plain old carpish BS)...over and over in these BB threads....

Don't worry; be happy! The end is near.

Why can't we just live in a world where bigfoots can ride unicorns without being judged?

Thanks for finally revealing BB's business model!
:)

Beretta has a good deal to offer if marketed right as she is good looking, plays well and is very well spoken and Jeanette can get beat by more than 200 male players but its never stopped her from being successful.

The end already happened...the pro players reached the end of the road...and it took a bunch of brave Canadians, eh, to step forward and save them...all the BS and misdirected propaganda in the world can't change that...where we go from here, we'll all just have to wait and see....

Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brave Canadians on American soil. Let's not forget that.
