No one is barred from the US Open events

To clarify:

I received a text from a Bonus Ball player that said;

Hi Mark, I was gonna play US Open events but I missed the deadline because I heard I was barred for 2 years. U have always been nice to me so I didn't think I was really barred, that it was just a rumor. Anyway take care - I don't think I could play with my bonus ball matches anyway. It would be too tough to schedule around my matches.

I responded by saying we have not barred anyone. We have some BB players signed up and expect quite a few more, many of which I have talked to. After the draw, we can place matches to try and avoid conflicts. That can only happen in the first round.

Someone is spreading rumors- which doesn't help anyone. There have been discussions-but there have been discussions about a lot of things.

Hope you change your mind and decide to play.

Mark, Bonus Ball barred me. I put in an application and they said that they weren't accepting any more Damn Canadians.

I'm pretty sure that Jam had something to do with it.

Any idea who spread the rumors you started?
Who all was privy to your discussions?
 
The purpose of this post was to remove the credibility of the rumors.

Through the last month or so there have been a LOT of debates and discussions (on AZ Billiards TAR podcasts and other places) and barring players has been discussed several times. so 'the world' has been privy to the discussions.

But there was never a decision to bar anyone.

As I said before , if someone is barred from my events, THEY WILL KNOW IT!.

As far as boycotts go, I will leave that discussion up to someone else.

So my question is this. When I asked about being in your US Open events and how to sign up why did you laugh hysterically?

I have heard all the talk and had conversations with you on the phone on the situation and although there are a number of options on the table for both sides. Banning players or players choosing to boycott these events. However from my experience and knowledge. This has all been just talk. I also know from experience that if CSI were actually going to do something like this EVERYONE would know. I really hope that it does not come to that. However, any promoter who feels like They have not been treated right or that the effort is no longer worth it for whatever reason decide to cancel events, ban players or change the events as a result it is entirely up to them as it is up to the players to make thei decisions for themselves and everyone must weigh up he pros an cons for themselves.

I have always enjoyed my visits to th BCA/CSI events and hope to make the trip again this year if possible an I hope to see many of the top players in action especially since the admission is free to watch this year. ALong with the players actually attending the 3 US Open events I hop that they can take a little time to support the junior events that will also be taking place. I have seen some of this first hand from players and if you could see the look and appreciation on the faces of the junior players its a real treat and great for the game. OK, thats all I got I think. I just hope this mess all sorts its self out.
 
Couldn't see this coming from Mark. After all, wasn't it he that offered 13 K to BB to help work out the problem in the first place.

When someone is willing to part with 13.000 hard earned dollars, it isn't likely the move of a vindictive person, just someone that is willing to try and work things out.

And at his expense.

Freddy, Its a BYOB party this year. Bring a cooler.

I always liked the dollar fifty Heinikens in Vegas. Thats a Premium beer in Canada. A ten dollar bill will get you one with a tip for the bar tender.

Oh I think I know who would be starting and spreading this rumor. Same guy who told everyone not to go to the Ultimate 10ball because it was "not a good deal", yet he ended up playing in it. HMMMMMM..... Bet you a pocket full of LINT I know who it was.

can you be barred based on skill level? Seriously though, would an unknown player need references to enter [the one-pocket event]?

Awesome job fellas! Outstanding.

Mark might have some "issues" with BB right now but that in no way diminishes the decades of great service he has given the billiard industry. Show some respect at least.
