Wow! What a blast from the past. That was taken in Chelmsford, MA at the Country Club USA about 2002.

The pool room was upstairs. Had a really nice kitchen with excellent food choices. There was a full bar downstairs and a full bar upstairs. The rooms were divided into tournament room and action room. A lot of tables there, huge pool room.

Archer looks funny without his traditional mustache. Poor Larry was just starting to be sick at this tournament. He was spitting up blood. :sorry:

The first time I ever saw Keith, he was with Larry Lisciotti in Maryland at the Capital City Classic, a few months before this tournament.

We went on the road to this tournament at Chelmsford, MA. We got lost going there. We looked and looked for this pool room. It was late a night when we arrived in Chelmsford. We ended up in town and asked for directions. Somebody said to go straight ahead and make a right at the Rotary.

Well, I drove about 20 miles looking for the Rotary Club. There was no Rotary Club. In Massachusetts, they call circles "rotaries." :o

How about this one JAM

Where was this???

Where was this???

That was in the parking lot of Fast Eddies in Goldsboro, North Carolina, at the Carolinas Open in 2003, I believe. Diana Hoppe took the picture.

That purple sparkle shirt was purchased there. Keith has another one just like it in black. Those are his lucky shirts. The store that sold them catered to men who wear bright-colored suits, like Motown style. :grin-square:

Here's a photo taken at the same Carolinas Open with Larry Nevel, Rachel, and Keith. At that time, Larry and Rachel were a couple.

Rachel got in action at this tournament after hours. She was fearless, took no prisoners. She was a lot of fun to hang out with. Nice lady!

I love this photo of Keith. He was playing Buddy Hall on the TV table at the 2003 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship. In fast, in this photo, he is wearing his lucky black sparkle shirt we purchased in Goldsboro at the Carolinas Open.

This photo was taken the same match. It was the first time ever the polka-dot cue ball was used. Keith and Buddy were given the option to use it or the other cueball, but they chose to use the poka-dot.

In this shot. Keith came with a miss and said, "Gee, Buddy, I must have hit the wrong polka-dot." Buddy cracked up but couldn't get to the table fast enough for his turn. :D

Look at David Howard in the front row laughing.

Great Photo

That looks like Country Club (RIP), and after reading the replies, I was right  Those benches between the tables were a dead giveaway.

Nice room, had lots of pool tournaments, I met Grady Mathews there, my one and only time seeing him in person. He as very friendly, I said hi to him and took a picture together and he talked to me like we were old friends the whole day whenever I'd run into him.

I still have an old visitors pass for one of the Joss tournaments there.

It was also at Country Club where I saw Alex P. for the first time, he was very young but had that exact same attidute as now, jumpy, talking to everyone.

I only wish I was there more often as it looks like I missed a lot of great players that played in tournaments there.

So what's the full name of this good looking Rachel who plays pool? :D

uh, uh, she's mine! If you don't know her last name you don't deserve her. She was a stand-in card girl during one of the US Open matches (don't recall which one), and let's just say the overhead camera view was very nice to have as she walked around the table

That's Rachel Abbink. STRONG lady player ---> HERE

What an addition to the Thread

I have no idea why anyone would want another picture of a beautiful young lady who plays pool but here, indulge yourself.

We went from the original photo of HOF Player Johnny Archer and two of the greatest gamblers to have ever graced the pool scene (Keith and Larry) to this crap. Wonder why I even bother to post anymore :banghead:

Just admit you guys were "parking" lost track of time.

After having two daughters, I have heard every excuse in the book.

Jeez
