SVB vs Biado - 8-ball Finals

I was a little meh about alternate break before but it's PERFECT for 8 ball,
where they always get out. So much tension and drama.
Must play perfect every single rack. Zero safes ever.

This finals is fantastic, feel sad for anyone who blew it off and didn't watch.
From 2-2 to I think 10-10 or so, they broke and ran every single rack.
Then Carlo played a dangerous position route and scratched in the side.
The very next rack shane broke, got his cue ball stuck on another ball,
was forced to shoot a slightly tough shot with spin, missed it bad.
But later he made some incredibly clutch shots.

Shane's the first US Open 8 ball champ, 13-11.

man you could see the pressure on shanes face. those filipinos are ice cold. I was holding my breath for that last 8 ball. damn good match.

I'm pretty sure in the entire match Shane missed 2 balls, and Carlo missed 1. He did scratch on another he made. Hell of a stroke to scratch on that one.

Great play by both guys. Shane proves once again you don't really have to play better than the other guy when your break crushes it, and gives pretty easy routes, and you get some rolls.

Shane got balls of steel to get out of that last rack, especially the last shot. That probably came from a lot of character building finals he went through.

Carlo Biado ain't too shabby either. He took 3rd at 1 pocket ($3300), 5th for 10 ball ($3100), and a runner-up finish for 8 ball ($8500) as his cherry topping. That's how you introduce yourself to the pool world!

Congats to Shane. Carlo needs a few more finals on the stream to become a tournament killer. Great match. Too bad someone had to lose. Johnnyt

That's more than bonus ball has brought in in two months.

Don't forget the $5000 when he won a couple weeks ago at Hard Times!

Great final match that turned on just a couple of errors either way. Very compelling to watch.

Wow! Outstanding performance! And add the money games on top. Just the Chinese alone gave him a few gold coins... Carlo has not lost a money game since he got to the States. Not even 1 game against Warren Kiamco on 1P although it's only $10/game he did not lose one game and Warren finally said let's quit I'm hungry. LOL!

Congrats to SVB! Keep collecting 'em kid!

That's probably how Carlo Biado familiarized himself playing 1 hole, one pocket was never popular in the Philippines, and only a handful play that game...

^i play 1P here in PI, with friends. and then people are like "wtf are they doin???" :)

Busty said Biado plays one-pocket with Efren, which is probably a pretty good way to learn.

I really understand how Justin gets so frustrated with the work he does. The tournament isn't over for 12 hours before multiple people start asking when they can see it for free. He and his crew bust arse for 10 days, offer a great deal on the streaming, and once done people are looking for the rebroadcast.

Let me say that I have never paid for a stream to date. Watching live streams do not fit into the timing that I do have to watch. As a result, I watch Youtube videos when I can, an occasional free stream if my time is available and the content is of interest to me, etc. I do think the prices are reasonable, just doesn't fit for me at this time.

But, I respect that TAR and others have a business to run, so I won't come on and be so bold as to say thanks for all the hard work, now get it up on Youtube for free so I can watch it right away.

If it is eventually up on Youtube, I may someday watch it if it fits with what I described above.

Another new thing TAR is doing is their VIMEO (I think that's what it is called) packages where you can purchase certain tourneys, etc. I look forward to investigating this further when my financial situation improves.

Best to you Justin. I hope you had a great customer base for a great tournament.

Alvin works just as hard and I truly appreciate the work that Justin does to provide these matches. based on my budget at the present time, I can only afford free streaming, so excuse f******* for asking. :bash:
