SVB not wanting to play Lion in all around for $50k?

I actually can't imagine ANYBODY wanting to play Alex in an all around...especially not for 50k...

I believe Alex is the favourite in anything except 10Ball....

Theyve changed many golf courses...

Why should a table be anything other than the standard , they don't change the cup in golf , or the rim in basketball a football field is still 100 yrds and there is still 3 bases in baseball. , why should pockets ever be changed from what the standard is ,

Theyve made longer par 3's, 4's and 5's on golf courses, so of course they change over time. Football rules have changed as well, bigger heavier equipment is just one change in american football.

I like Alex in an all-around verses SVB.

There isn't many or frankly anyone else that I would say that about.

SVB is solid.

Ken

I agree with Ken. I would give a slight advantage to Alex but I also feel that anyone wanting to stake either player is mad at their money! I was a stake horse for many years and actually am way ahead of the game, but the only player I would stake gambling was my road partner Gary Spaeth, with a few small exceptions! I knew that he would not play anyone if he didn't feel he had pretty much the best of it. I often tried to talk him into playing games that I thought he had the nuts in, and he would refuse saying it's too tough of action. Gary was more interested in keeping me in action than himself! He was my best friend as well as my road partner. He always told me when someone wanted to "do business", which he knew we were going to refuse but felt I deserved to know everything he did. With most pool player/stakehorse relationships, it's strictly business (no pun intended) but we had a closer bond that was more important than the money involved.

I certainly understand John Mars not wanting to stake either person in this match. Besides being friends with both players, it's clearly a match that either could win! It's like throwing all your money up in the air and hoping some of it will come back with dividends that you'll split with the player! TOUGH ACTION!!!

...8 ball is pick em in my opinion...Agree or disagree?

Guess you weren't at the US Open 8-ball event at the Rio, where Shane showed that his 10-ball break works just as well in 8-ball. Shane went undefeated in a killer field and was able to beat a near-perfect Biado in the final.

In my opinion, Alex would have a very tough go of it in 8-ball against Shane.

The only constant in life is change. Champions Adapt.

Race to 30, three days in a row, 8-9-10.

Alex VS Shane?? Nobody will be getting robbed..

The table would help Alex fade the Break taking out that and the predictability of the patterns plays more in to Alex's skill set. Shane knows that he's no dummy

Shoot on a Ten Footer

Gamblers, their standard is Winning, nothing else. Pros in any sport are ALWAYS looking for an advantage, why not?
To Not pick your spot is stupid when betting this high, unless you've got way the best of it.
Sugar Ray Leonard/Duran fight is a perfect example, as well as Earl Trapping SVB on the Ten Footer.

I love how haters want to think Shane can't play all games. Look what he did in his first ever straight pool tourny a couple weeks ago. 1p isn't going to be a saver for ANYONE against him either. 10/9/8 ball we all know Shane is a MONSTER.

If Alex gets hot, he's got a chance to take anyone off, but the same can be said of SVB without even being that hot handed...

If this were to go off, and anyone thinks Alex will "rob" SVB, please O PLEASE, let me know how much weight you are offering.

I'm guessing most would be lucky to get even money on Shane.

Alex would rob him in an all around & he knows it.

Mr. LoneSilencer, how much you offering? I'm sure you'll offer 2 to 1 on my cash if this goes off right? You'll give me 5 games or more race to 30, 10ball. And 3 games in a race to 8, 1p. Pry give me 75 balls race to 300 straight pool?

Seriously, what kind of line are you offering if you think Alex would rob SVB at anything pool related?

Open mic night at the comedy club, Alex is a lock, but if pool is involved it's a coin toss at best.

I'll give you credit, you can sure bark loud...

I think YOU are reading it wrong....

Most IMO think it is tough action for both....

And who ever said Earl trapped SVB is RIGHT!....

I'm not counting all as haters, and I agree with tough action. But I I can prod someone into giving stupid weight, I'll take it!

You know what's up Ken!

shane needs to meet up with wang can somewhere and play a long 10b race. Someone needs to stream it.

There would be little extra traveling cost incurred when they're already present at the same tournament multiple times now.

much more interesting than watching earl vs shane...

I would like to see a TAR match with Wang Can against ANYBODY. If you ask me, "WANG CAN WIN"!!!

Nice try the holes changed to match the longer balls and clubs but the cup stayed tge same ,Football yes has changed , for more scoring not less but the field stayed the same in fact most sports have changed for more scoring Unlike pool that's gone the other direction

I agree. Cups at 4.5" is plenty. It changes every game so much it's silly. I had 4.25" pockets on my last table and it made ERO's almost non-existent in 8ball. Keith has a table with a little under 4" pockets, and it's BRUTAL to play on. You end up playing the game so much differently that it's not even fun to play, let alone watch.

Sometimes I think Shane could win 100% of his tournaments and gambling matches in every game in every discipline, and people would still say "Alex would rob him."

Heck, he could probably win 100% of his gambling matches against Alex, and people would still say "Alex would rob him." :grin-square:

But he doesn't Earl smacked him around twice this weekend
He won't play JA on his table and now he won't play Alex at Hard Times where else won't he play

It's the same as the PGA tour. Some courses are set up better for certain players style of play, while others struggle, and vise versa. Certain players are able to win a PGA event on certain courses but NOT on the other ones. There's been quite a few times the house pro at a local golf course on the PGA tour has won, but Only at his home court.

Of course he doesn't win 100% but he wins a helluva lot more than most in enough games and venues that it is ludicrous to ever say anyone "would rob him".

Shane has also smacked Earl around a few times, too. And then people thought Shane would "rob" him again next time. He didn't.

Shane and Alex have also gambled numerous times, and both have won.
